Golden Review Award: 1 From Our UsersExcellent, fast and flawless Blu-ray burner.
This ASUS Blue-ray reader and burner is a very nice unit. It comes with the drive, a software disk, a small AC transformer and power cord and cord to connect to your USB 3.0 socket.

The drive is a plug-and-play unit and was immediately recognized by my PC. The included software if you load it will allow the use of the drive as a automated backup system, a means to backup Android phones to your PC or a disk over a WiFi connection and software to enable cloud back up and archival recording.

My primary use for it is to burn Blu-ray disks. It performed flawlessly and faster than my prior Blu-ray drive by another manufacturer. It is virtually silent, produced no heat and while not critical, looks pretty sharp.

I find it worth the seller price based on functionality, quality of the unit and speed.

    Excellent and reliable product!!
This ASUS Blu-Ray burner is easy to use (plug and play) but most of all performing extremely well for burning everything from CDs to Blu-Ray discs. Extremely reliable, I’ve tried it with different software, different brand of BD-R and it never failed after burning over 25 BR, the writing speed is great too! No issues with playback as well. This is great quality overall!! I strongly recommend it!!

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our Usersfast, works with win10/11, UHD after firmware, sub-par enclosure, terrible on/off switch
Excellent drive! Mine arrived with a new encrypted firmware that still worked just fine with BD, but was able to fairly easily flash and ‘upgrade’ Omni Drive firmware (drive platform is MT1959 for the unit I received). It’s now a UHD beast. The outer case, in my opinion, leaves a lot to be desired though. The top is not flat and the weird angels are..weird. The power status LED on top is SUPER bright which could be really annoying in a dim room etc. I also found the eject button to be rather odd and not very tactile. It’s like a very mushy pseudo-click if you get any click at all. The blinky activity status light on the eject button is also not linked with the drive function directly. When the internal drive status light is active, the external light is often out. It’s rather odd and annoying. The absolute worst part is the power switch on the back. It’s a super slick flat peak of a thing and it’s very stiff to actuate. Truly a terrible design. I’m not yet sure if I’m going to just cut some texture into it or if I’m going to make my own replacement 3D printed cap, but it’s just terrible design, whomever designed this enclosure and switch should be ashamed of themselves. It does get the job done though.

I didn’t buy it for the looks though, thankfully. I’m getting 16-26M/s rip speeds on BD and hovering around 18-34M/s for UHD in Windows. Sadly DVD comes in at around 10M/s. For two hundred it hurts, but seems worth it in 2026 as drives start to dry up.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersMeets and occasionally exceeds expectations.
Took a lil finagling and sorting to get it to where I needed it to be for my intended reason for purchases (ripping my movie collection to create shelf space) . But I got out of the rough, it performs like a champ. If my excel sheet is court, I’m getting 13 to 16 maps rip speeds. It’s chunky, it’s pricey, BUT… It’s totally worth every penny. IMO.

    Software only for windows
Now this is what you call a bluray burner it works straight out the box, I’m a little disappointed that the software that shipped with it is only windows compatible which is a little let down. That’s why the four stars

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersAwesome movie ripper, works great in Linux
It is a BEAST of a drive. And best of all, using the MakeMKV website tips, I was able to update the firmware in Linux Ubuntu 26.04 without needing a Windoze machine. I updated it so runs the LibreDrive )maybe spelled wrong, but go to MakeMKV. Now my AI agent rips and copies our DVDs and BluRays to our home server, which streams them via Emby. With hundreds of movies over the years, I am planning on cancelling our Netflix and just staying with Amazon. And buying more real movies (discs) again that Amazon or Netflix can’t pull out from under us!
