    A little expensive but the quality and features make it worth the price.
    I use a lot of cast iron because my wife sends me outdoors to cook on our grill and outdoor kitchen. She likes to keep cooking odors out of her kitchen and I like to cook so it’s a win-win! When I spotted this pan I decided to give it a try for three reasons. First, it is lighter than cast iron. Second, it is coated with a non-stick nitrided coating. Third, it is made so you can use it in an oven (or in my case, our outdoor gas grill). My first impression was that the pan is well made; the handle is smooth and the end rounded for ease of use. The first meal was salmon burgers with cheese, which usually stick badly when cooked directly on the grill. I used some avocado oil in the pan and cooked them in the covered grill. They released easily and after flipping, I added some cheese. It all went very smoothly. It was almost like using cast iron but was easier to handle, and just as non-stick as my well-seasoned pans. Clean up was easy. Just a little Dawn and a scrubby sponge got the cooking surface clean. I finished cleaning the handle with a little steel wool and when I finished, it looked brand new again. So for me, this pan is a winner. I’ve used it a few more times and whether on a burner or in an oven, the pan stays flat, heats evenly, and is easy to clean.

    I’ve been really impressed with the overall craftsmanship of this carbon steel frying pan. From the first time I picked it up, it was clear this pan wasn’t a lightweight or flimsy piece. It has a reassuring and well-balanced feel that seems very durable. The construction is especially noteworthy, with a thick, flat base that holds its shape even when exposed to high heat. It’s obvious that warping won’t be an issue here, which is something I’ve run into with lower-quality pans in the past.

    Coming from years of primarily using cast iron, the transition to this pan felt natural. Many of the same techniques apply, and if you’re already familiar with managing seasoning and heat control of cast iron pans, you’ll feel right at home. There is a bit of a learning curve if you’re new to this style of cookware, but it’s absolutely worth the effort. Once you get the hang of it, cooking and cleanup both become straightforward and even enjoyable. In fact, this pan was much easier to clean versus the cast iron pans.

    My husband and I had mixed reviews with the handle. He said it was a pleasant surprise and comfortable. I, on the other hand, felt like it was too big and therefore didn’t allow me to hold the pan as securely. If you have small hands, this is something to keep in mind. However, this was not a deal-breaker at all. We both liked how the handle did not heat up as fast, especially on our gas stovetop which has a more open flame.

    One of the standout features is the nitrided surface. It feels tougher and more resilient than typical carbon steel. I like how it is rust and scratch-free; I hope time will prove this true! I was a little unsure about the seasoning process, as I normally cook with cast iron, but the pre-seasoning is also well done right out of the box.

    Performance-wise, this pan delivers across the board. It heats up quickly, distributes heat evenly, and handles everything from stovetop searing to oven cooking without any trouble.

    Overall, this pan strikes an excellent balance between performance, durability, and value. It feels like a long-term investment in the kitchen and one that will only get better with time. I would highly recommend this to anyone who wants a good quality pan.

    I’m genuinely impressed with the quality of this carbon steel pan. The moment I picked it up, it felt like a serious piece of cookware — thick, solid, and extremely wellmade. The antiwarp design really shows in the construction. The base is heavy and perfectly flat, and it stays that way even under high heat, which is something cheaper carbon steel pans just can’t manage .

    The nitrided surface is another standout. It’s tougher than standard carbon steel, scratchresistant, and naturally rustresistant, which makes everyday use and cleanup much easier. The preseasoning is excellent right out of the box, and the pan only gets smoother and more nonstick the more I cook with it. It heats quickly, cooks evenly, and transitions from stovetop to oven without any fuss .

    The handle design is surprisingly comfortable too — it stays cooler than I expected and gives a steady, secure grip even when the pan is loaded. Between the build quality, the performance, and the durability, this feels like a pan that will last for years.

    Pricy but nice
    While I do think the price tag is a bit much on the high side of things for not being from a big brand, I will say that I’m pleasantly surprised with this pan so far. Thickness is good and a step above the cheap carbon steel pans you’ll find at your local Asian grocery (although those still have their place in the kitchen), and the really high walls wind up making this a great single-serving flat bottom wok.

    I have two really nice woks that I’m quite fond of, but this is probably my new go-to for basic single-serving stir fries when I’m not going all-out and trying to cook super hot and get wok hei. Instead of having to use a wok turner, it’s small and light enough that you can do most of your stirring just by tossing the food with the pan’s sloped sides.

    The seasoning on the pan right out of the box was really hydrophobic and didn’t interfere with building up my own seasoning as I’ve used it. All-around a solid pan so far and I’m glad to have it in the kitchen.
