50FT 7 Way Trailer Wire, 14 Gauge 7 Conductor Wiring
50FT 7 Way Trailer Wire, 14 Gauge 7 Conductor Wiring Harness, 30% CCA Copper Clad Aluminum Trailer Cable for RV Camper Utility Trailer, DOT Approved
- 50-foot continuous roll with 7 color-coded conductors provides enough length to rewire an entire RV, horse trailer, camper, or utility trailer from end to end without any mid-run splices. Compatible with all standard 7-pin RV blade connectors for reliable brake, taillight, turn signal, and auxiliary power connections.
- Built with 30% copper clad aluminum (CCA) conductors, delivering a significantly thicker copper layer than the 5-10% copper coating found in standard low-cost CCA wire. Higher copper content means stronger conductivity, more stable 12V brake and light signals, and longer service life across high-demand towing applications. Rated 600V with 0.76mm premium insulation and DOT certified for commercial towing.
- Talc-lubricated conductors: fine white powder inside is a standard PVC extrusion lubricant, completely inert. Heavy-duty PVC outer jacket (12.45mm diameter) resists road salt, abrasion, oil, and UV exposure across the full temperature range from -15 degrees Celsius to 105 degrees Celsius. Flexible stranded core stays pliable in freezing conditions, making it easy to route through tight conduit runs and around chassis corners. The fine talc you may notice inside is a standard manufacturing lubricant used during PVC extrusion across the cable industry — it is completely inert, non-conductive, and does not affect performance or durability. No quartz powder or paper filler.
- Seven conductors follow SAE industry-standard color coding (Green, Yellow, White, Brown, Blue, Black, Red) for fast, error-free installation without a wiring diagram. Ideal for boat trailer wiring, food truck electrical builds, fifth wheel rewiring, and full camper van overhauls.
- DOT certified and 600V safety rated for commercial and recreational towing applications including horse trailers, enclosed cargo trailers, flatbeds, and travel trailers. Each roll passes quality inspection before shipping to ensure consistent performance on the road.

Heavy-Duty Wiring for a Clean Trailer Overhaul
Running this 50-foot 7-way harness through the frame of my utility trailer was a massive upgrade over the brittle, patched-together wiring I was dealing with before. The 14-gauge conductors have a rugged, professional-grade jacket that pulls through conduit smoothly without binding or tearing. It’s a solid, high-performance cable that feels like it’s built to handle the road salt and grime of a Cincinnati winter without a hitch.
The color-coding is dead-on for standard RV and trailer plugs, which made pinning out the connector a quick, frustration-free job in the shop. Even with the 30% CCA blend, the conductivity is excellent—my LED markers and brake lights are firing instantly with zero flickering or voltage drop across the full 50-foot run. For a DOT-approved harness, the flexibility and durability are top-tier, making it a reliable choice for a long-lasting, custom wiring project.
Good quality trailer wire
This stuff readily fits through a 1/2″ hole, which is a huge plus. The outer casing is a semi-rigid nylon-like material and seems durable. Inner strands are standard 14ga wire. The copper is high strand count and well made. This is not 10 or 12 ga on the aux supply and gnd, so total electrical load is limited by the common ground (only an issue if the trailer has high 12V supply requirements like lights or water pumps).
At the price, this roll is a good deal (it does come on a plastic spool). Colors are standard pattern but casing is black). Use grommets through holes and proper wire routing methods and this cable will do well on your trailer, but even better on the wallet.
Very Useful!
The Lcrslitx 50ft 7Way Trailer Wire (14ga, 7conductor, 30% CCA, DOT approved) is a budgetoriented trailer wiring harness suited for seasonal or light duty towing but with tradeoffs worth knowing before purchase.
What It Is
This cable is a 7conductor trailer wiring harness designed to carry all standard trailer circuits:
Tail/running lights
Brake lights
Turn signals
Electric brakes
Aux / 12V power
Ground
It comes in a 50ft length, typical for medium trailers or RVs, and is labeled DOT approved, meaning it meets basic standards for trailer wiring insulation and identification.
Construction & Materials
14gauge conductors: Adequate for lighting and many auxiliary circuits
CCA (CopperClad Aluminum, ~30% copper):
Lighter and cheaper than solid copper
Corrodes more easily at crimp/solder joints
Higher resistance than pure copper small voltage drop over long runs
Compare this to standard solid copper trailer wire — copper has better conductivity and durability, but CCA is common in budget harnesses.
Performance & Practical Use
Pros:
Serves all standard 7way RV/trailer circuits
DOT identification and insulation colors make installation straightforward
50ft is long enough for most utility trailers, campers, and horse trailers
Flexible jacket typical of outdoor wiring
Cons:
CCA conductivity: Voltage drop is higher than pure copper — especially relevant for brake magnets and power circuits.
Corrosion risk: CCA joints (crimps/solders) need extra protection (heatshrink + dielectric grease) to prevent oxidation.
Durability: Over years, aluminumbased wiring is more prone to fatigue and connection resistance increase than solid copper.
Installation Notes
Use quality connectors, sealed butt connectors, or solder + shrink
Protect all splices from water ingress (especially important with CCA)
Verify brake magnet current draw — heavier loads benefit from larger gauge or pure copper
Best Use Cases
Seasonal trailers
Campers and small RVs
Lights, brakes, signals on utility trailers
Not Ideal For
Heavy electric brake loads without added protection
Long power feed runs without voltage drop mitigation
Applications where longterm corrosion resistance is critical
Bottom Line
The Lcrslitx 50ft 7Way Trailer Wire is a budget wiring harness that’s DOT approved and functionally complete. It works well for lighting and standard trailer circuits, but due to its CCA construction, it requires careful connection practices and awareness of voltage drop.
Verdict:
Good for casual or light trailer use
Acceptable performance with proper installation
Not as robust or conductive as solid copper wiring
If you’re wiring a trailer for reliable, longterm performance, upgrading to a solid copper harness is worth the investment.
Very good value and quality
I ordered this product titled [50FT 7 Way Trailer Wire, 14 Gauge 7 Conductor Wiring Harness, 30% CCA Copper Clad Aluminum Trailer Cable for RV Camper Utility Trailer, DOT Approved] and am very satisfied with it.
This wire is well made with a thick outer coating and good insulating strand coatings. Each strand is a different color making it easy to connect correctly.
The length of 50 feet is plenty to run from the hitch connector, back to the rear and across the rear to the other tail light on even large trailers and campers. This would be long enough to do two or even three small utility trailers.
With seven strands, there should be enough to charge your trailer battery, run interior lights and run the brakes and turn signals and I believe is standard on most trailers.
The cable is flexible and easy to route, I had no problem making corners wiring my utility trailer.
It shipped with no corrosion on the ends which was surprising. The last few cables I’ve ordered were slightly corroded due to the exposed copper.
It is thick and should resist wear from normal chafing. With proper routing, solder joints and the effective sealing of the connections, this wire should last a very long time.
Price shopping, I discovered the average price is around $70 for 50 feet, making this a very good value at just under $60.
Overall, I am very satisfied with this product, as it is well made.
