4 to 3 inch Radon Mitigation System Kit – 2 Speed Radon Fan

4 to 3 inch Radon Mitigation System Kit - 2 Speed Radon Fan 240CFM | 168CFM with Rubber Couplings and Air Pressure Indicator

4 to 3 inch Radon Mitigation System Kit – 2 Speed Radon Fan 240CFM | 168CFM with Rubber Couplings and Air Pressure Indicator, Quiet and Energy Efficient, Fits 3” Piping

  • One Kit Eliminate Radon – This kit includes everything you need: the 4" fan itself, two 4 to 3” rubber couplings, an air pressure indicator, a mounting bracket, and sealing tape. Installation is straightforward and simple, only needs a screwdriver, PVC glue, and a drill you can finish the install
  • 2-Speed Radon Fan – This new upgrade radon mitigation fan offers two speed settings, high speed is 240CFM at 44db, low speed is 168CFM at 32db. You can started with the higher speed for initial radon reduction, then switched to low speed for better noise experience and saving energy
  • Strong Performance, Quickly Mitigate Radon – The fan will create a strong and steady vacuum through the system, moving air efficiently without struggling, this makes a noticeable difference in stabilizing radon levels. Most homes experience restored healthy air quality within 48 hours of installation
  • Quietly Operation – This fan has a soft, steady hum that disappears in the background, which is important for indoor setups or homes where the system is close to living areas. Even at full speed, the fan runs around 44 dB, roughly the noise level of a library whisper. Low speed is barely audible indoors
  • Robust & Durable – Excellent quality with a solid and well-built housing, everything fits together tightly, and the wiring connection is secure and well-protected, sturdy construction with overbuilt design last up to 10 years. IP67 waterproof rating allows indoor or outdoor installation, vertically or horizontally

    Very Quie
Buying a new home and then finding out there’s off-the-wall radon is stressful. Thank goodness the builder installed the passive radon system so we didn’t have to do much. This fan turned out to be exactly what was needed. Easy to install, came with all items shown, and is very quiet. I would highly recommend this fan for a townhouse. If you have a single family house you will need a larger fan.

Reliable Two Speed Radon Mitigation Fan for Continuous Duty Operatio
Radon mitigation requires reliable ventilation equipment that can operate continuously without failure, and this two speed fan system delivers the performance needed for effective basement radon reduction. The transition from 4 inch to 3 inch piping is well engineered, and the dual speed capability lets you adjust airflow based on your specific radon levels and building characteristics. After installing this in a property with elevated radon readings, the system has operated consistently and helped bring levels down to acceptable ranges.

The fan construction feels robust and purpose built for continuous duty operation. Radon mitigation fans need to run constantly throughout the year, often for decades, so build quality matters significantly. The motor housing is well sealed against moisture and the mounting brackets provide solid attachment points for secure installation. The unit stays cool during operation, which indicates proper thermal management and suggests it won’t suffer premature failure from heat buildup.

Having two speed options is more useful than you might initially think. During initial system setup, you can run at higher speed to quickly reduce radon concentrations. Once levels stabilize in the safe range, dropping to lower speed reduces electricity consumption while maintaining adequate ventilation. The speed control operates reliably without creating odd noise patterns or vibrations when switching between settings. This flexibility helps optimize the balance between effective radon reduction and operating costs.

The 240CFM and 168CFM airflow ratings provide substantial ventilation capacity for typical residential radon mitigation applications. The actual performance you’ll see depends on your specific piping configuration and soil characteristics, but the rated capacity gives good headroom for most installations. Airflow remains consistent during operation without the pulsing or fluctuation you sometimes get with lower quality fans.

Noise levels are reasonable for a continuously operating ventilation fan. You’ll hear it if you’re standing right next to the installation point, but it’s not obtrusively loud. The sound is a steady hum rather than rattling or whining, which makes it easier to tune out mentally. For basement or exterior installations where the fan isn’t in main living areas, the noise isn’t a practical concern.

The pipe size transition from 4 to 3 inches is smoothly designed without sharp angles that would restrict airflow unnecessarily. This matters because maintaining proper suction throughout the piping system is critical for radon mitigation effectiveness. The connections seal properly with standard PVC couplings and appropriate sealant. Installation follows standard radon mitigation practices without requiring special adapters or modifications.

For anyone dealing with elevated radon levels and needing a dependable mitigation fan system, this provides solid performance at a reasonable price point. The dual speed capability, adequate CFM ratings, and continuous duty construction make it suitable for long term radon management. It does the essential job reliably, which is exactly what you need from safety equipment that operates year round.

    Well build radon mitigation fa
This plugin radon mitigation fan appears to be well built. There are 2 optional configurations for the speed which requires you to remove the wiring cover and swap the neutral wire in a lever lock wire connector. Oddly the instructions call the neutral white wire the “live wire” which is a bit confusing.
Overall the assembly is good with very few small things I could find wrong with the system. The bolts that connect the mounting bracket to the main body of the fan are undersized for the holes but will work. The wires from the connector into the motor are aluminum, but the power cable is copper.
I’m not sure if this is quiet as others as this is my first unit but I opted to install this outside my home because in my basement the I could hear it running but outside I cannot from the basement. I can hear this in my yard if close to the pipe that currently I have venting out through a wall. I doubt I could hear this once I have the pipe going to the roof installed.
The biggest possible concern is this is not UL listed so you may need to check with your insurance company to ensure this will not be an issue in the event of a fire or any other possible damage. I am not concerned based on the build quality and it being outside.
I do wish the rubber pipe connectors could accept 4″ PVC pipe, but the 3 inch is plenty big.
After about 1 hour my radon meter is showing a reduction of 0.54 pCi/L in my first floor. Unfortunately my home is old and does not have drain tile so I will see if this continues to go down to determine if additional work is needed like stitching or adding a second pipe on the other side of the house and sealing my basement cracks and walls.

Professional grade air quality control and a massive win for home safety
I was impressed that a radon mitigation fan could actually offer such a high level of air movement while remaining whisper-quiet during operation. I expected the 4-to-3 inch couplings to be a bit loose, but the first few days of monitoring the pressure gauge proved how well this Rysmirs kit is engineered for a perfectly airtight seal. It actually maintains a very consistent and stable draw from the sub-slab, and the build quality of the UV-resistant housing is high-quality enough that I don’t worry about it being exposed to the elements on the side of our house.

In our busy household, we value gear that lets me handle home maintenance with the same precision I use in the university IT lab, and this radon kit is a massive help for our family’s health. The build quality feels very solid, and you can tell the internal bearings are high-quality because the fan runs without any vibration or humming that might travel through the walls. You can hear a faint, reassuring whir if you stand right next to it, which gives me a bit of certainty that the air is being exchanged efficiently and our basement is protected.

Underneath the main housing, the energy-efficient motor works perfectly to keep our utility bills low, and the sleek design provides a level of professional style that makes our exterior utility area look much more updated. Because it fits both 3″ and 4″ pipe configurations, I had the freedom to adapt it perfectly to our existing layout. This is certainly a durable and smart choice for any homeowner, and the reliable performance makes my morning safety checks much more efficient.
