Well made set of half frames. You do have to assemble but it’s an easy task.
I recently got this set of pine frames, and they stood out right away when I opened the box. The wood has a smooth finish with a clean, straight grain—exactly what you’d want for durability in the hive. The joinery is well done, with precise mortise-and-tenon cuts that make everything line up easily without any hassle during assembly.
The included foundations have a generous coating of beeswax, which is a big plus. In my experience, bees are much quicker to work on waxed ABS, and these seem like they’ll be drawn out efficiently once placed in the super. They also fit perfectly with standard Langstroth gear, sitting snugly without any shifting, and they’re compatible with both 8-frame and 10-frame configurations.
Putting them together was simple, and the finished frames feel sturdy and properly aligned—not weak or likely to warp. Having a full set of ten makes it convenient to swap out or refresh a medium super ahead of a nectar flow. All in all, these frames are solid, functional, and should help keep hive management neat and efficient throughout the season.
Good quality, but you do have to fully assemble them yourself
Make sure you read the full listing and be prepared for full assembly. Since all of the main pictures showed the frames connected, I was hopeful that they would arrive in that fashion. However everything arrived in all of its individual pieces. In the description, it does mention that you will have to fully assemble these yourself.
However once I sat down with all the components, it’s pretty self-explanatory how it all goes together. All of the parts arrive safely. Nothing was damaged. Everything connects easily. So assembly was a breeze. But it looked daunting and I was a bit confused at first when I opened the box considering I thought these would be assembled for me lol. However for the price, I think the value here is good with a little assembly time included.
These fit in my standard 10 frame hive. I am just beginning my beekeeping journey, so I don’t have a colony yet. But these look and feel like the rest of the components that I have so they seem to be good quality and appear Like they will hold up nicely over time.
Well made and fit perfectly.
I picked up this set of pine frames, and they made a great first impression right out of the box. The wood is clean, smooth, and has that nice straightgrain pine look that usually means it’ll hold up well in the hive. The mortiseandtenon joints are cut accurately, so everything fits together without fighting or forcing pieces into place.
The foundations come heavily coated in beeswax, which I appreciate — my bees tend to take to waxed ABS much faster, and these feel like they’ll get drawn out quickly once they’re in the super. They fit my Langstroth equipment exactly as expected, no gaps or wobble, and they work with both my 10frame and 8frame setups.
Assembly was straightforward, and once put together the frames feel solid and square, not flimsy or prone to twisting. Getting a full set of ten is perfect for refreshing a medium super before the flow starts. Overall, they’re wellmade, practical frames that should make hive inspections smoother and keep everything organized during the season.
Excellent quality beehive frames
These “Trinfree” – Leisure Yield medium beehive frames are excellent quality. There are 10 unassembled frames in the package. The yellow plastic foundation is waxed, but I usually add a little more beeswax from my own hives to help the bees get started. I like the yellow foundation for the honey supers. The frames are well cut and fit together nicely. The top and bottom bars are grooved for the plastic foundation. There are some nails included, but only 46 pc. To properly assemble beehive frames you need 10 nails per frame. Two per end top and bottom, plus one horizontal nail per end to keep the frame from coming apart. I use wood glue first, and then I use a nail gun with narrow crown staples to assemble frames. I use one horizontal nail per end nailed through the end bar into the top bar as a final nail after assembly. I recommend keeping the frames in a dry environment before assembly to avoid swelling of the wood.
I think these frames are good quality and the price is fair at $36.00 for a complete set of 10 frames. The carton they were packed in is a little too short for the bars, so they are placed at an angle to fit. This can cause the carton or the bars to get damaged in shipping. A better fitting carton would be half the volume and take up less space in the shipping container.
An excellent choice for the hobbyist beekeepe
If you are expanding your apiary or simply replacing older equipment, the TRINFREE 10-Pack Medium Unassembled Bee Frames offer a solid, budget-friendly entry point into hive maintenance. These frames are designed specifically for medium super boxes, which are commonly used for honey storage due to their more manageable weight when full.
Build Quality and Materials
The frames are constructed from natural wood, featuring standard dimensions that fit most 10-frame or 8-frame medium supers. The wood is generally well-milled, though, as with most unassembled kits, you may find the occasional minor splinter or rough edge that requires a quick pass with sandpaper.
The highlight of this set is the plastic foundations. They come pre-coated in a layer of yellow beeswax. This is a significant time-saver, as it encourages bees to start “drawing out” the comb immediately rather than ignoring a bare plastic sheet.
Assembly Experience
Since these arrive unassembled, you will need some basic tools: a small hammer and either wood glue or a staple gun.
Precision: The joints are cut with decent precision, allowing the top and bottom bars to slot into the side bars without excessive force.
Stability: Once glued and nailed (or stapled), the frames feel rigid and capable of withstanding the weight of several pounds of honey.
