Not bad
I used this speaker wire for a home theater setup, and it’s been a solid choice overall. The build quality stands out right away—the jacket feels durable and flexible, making it easy to run through walls and tight spaces without fighting it. It doesn’t kink easily, which saves a lot of time during installation.
Sound quality has been great. The OFC copper seems to do its job, with clear highs and solid bass, and I haven’t noticed any signal loss or distortion. Everything sounds balanced and clean, whether for music or movies.
The foot markings are a really helpful feature. Being able to measure and cut without grabbing a tape measure makes the process quicker, and the red/black polarity markings help avoid wiring mistakes.
Overall, it feels like a reliable, well-made wire that works just as well for home setups as it would for more professional installs. Good value if you want something durable and easy to work with. Good buy for the price.
Well-insulated for underground or in-wall
My son is getting into home audio and wanting to rig some remote speakers to his audio receiver.
This speaker wire has heavy insulation for protection against the elements or for durability in the wall. The 18-guage diameter is ideal for runs up to 50ft, so it’s great 30-foot length.
Comes on a convenient spool. Only problem is no matter how much wire you get, you can always use more – we have LED light projects in mind as well, and this can work for those, too!
Good quality speaker wire that’s easy to work with and install
I used this wire for a small speaker setup in my garage, and it worked well for running clean connections without any issues. The length was enough for my setup, and the polarity marking made it easy to keep everything wired correctly. It’s a solid option for both indoor and basic outdoor use.
The wire feels well made with flexible insulation that doesn’t fight you during routing. The copper inside looks clean, and the jacket seems durable enough for in wall or exposed runs. It doesn’t feel cheap, and it strips cleanly without fraying.
In use, it delivers clear sound with no problems or signal loss in my setup. It’s easy to handle and holds up well once installed. Overall, it’s a reliable speaker wire if you need something straightforward and good quality for audio projects.
Very strong and tough insulation on each inner wire plus a tough outer jacket.
This 18 gauge wire has very tough and strong insulation on both the outer jacket and on the two wires inside the outer jacket. I have no worries about damaging it pulling it through a wall, or even burying it outside. It should hold up.
Because of the stiff and tough insulation, it’s not the easiest wire to strip, but it’s not bad.
This wire uses real copper strands, not copper clad aluminum. If you need some really tough 18 gauge wire, you can’t do much better than this. I assume the other thicker gauges this wire comes in are just as tough. 16 gauge should be as thick as you need for any speaker wire, unless you are doing really long runs. I’m using the 18 gauge for shorter runs and it’s as thick as I want or need.
Nice speaker wire at a nice price
This is speaker wire, 30 feet. Suitable for in-wall or in-ground installation (indoors or outdoors).
This speaker cable contains two parallell speaker wires inside- one red and one black. They are copper (the version I chose). The red/black wires have some chalk or substance on them which I think allowed them to be drawn inside the outer cable.
The wires are thick yet sufficiently bendy and flexible for running around corners and such. The other cable has ‘foot’ markers every foot so you know how much cable you have deployed (see pictures). A nice touch! The cable was thick and sounded great with my hifi setup.
Easy to setup and install, this cable was very nice. If you intend to solder to it, use a bif flat tip to transfer lots of heat to that copper wire which will spread the heat upon contact.
Actually 18awg, Actually COPPER.
At the time of purchase and review this 30ft item cost less than “half of it’s length, but in dollars”.
Copper wire cross section measures almost 1/16″, so it is actually 18awg as stated.
I was skeptical at first, when I burned it, it turned gray. I thought ohh lord not cca then I wiped it off and took a close up. You can see the copper ball. I then filed and scraped to reveal, more copper.
Copper, as stated.
The jacket is super soft and super flexible, not hard as a rock – BUT it is also super tough.
Direct burial.
If you were a trouble maker, you might even be able to use this direct burial 18awg 18-2 color coded copper wire, for, maybe different kinds of electricity. I bet it would work, even though the NEC says this kind of copper only works with speakers.
Happy with purchase. It will get used.
