Finally!! A Full Size Cake Board Comes Through
I had been using the TKL version of this keyboard before and I already loved it, but I usually prefer a full size layout especially for work. Having the numpad makes everything easier and efficient for me on a daily basis.
While the TKL version worked great for both productivity and gaming, I already have dedicated keyboards for gaming, so this one is mainly for work. Honestly, the full size version just paints the full picture for me. The added numpad has already made a huge difference, and it still keeps the same look and feel that I liked about the smaller version.
One thing Yunzii always does well with is presentation, and this felt like opening a full care package. It comes with a free mousepad, extra keycaps, a keycap puller, a few extra switches and even a card with an envelope incase you want to gift it someone with a personal note. That was a really nice touch and made the whole unboxing feel a bit more special.
Overall, it does really feel like the perfect gift even if you’re just buying it for yourself. It’s practical, it looks like a dream on the desk, and comes with more extras than I expected. I’m really happy I made the switch to the full size version.
Great product.
Product came much earlier than initially marked. Perfect shape and no initial issues. The sound is good and clean, good software and all necessary and useful accessories included. I got this keyboard on the recommendation of Hipyo and am satisfied with my purchase.
I absolutely love this keyboard. I have an Aula 99 and have switched caps, switches, and cannot get it to sound remotely like this one. I love the RGB around the entire unit and appreciate the mouse pad.
Cutest keyboard
I was patiently waiting for the numeric version to become available for sale in Belgium. I’m so happy to finally get my hands on the cutest keyboard. I would have given it 5 stars if there had been an AZERTY version, but I still managed to adjust the keys (even though they don’t perfectly match the layout I usually use). I loved the goodies as well. I wasn’t expecting them!
Sounds and feels as good as it looks!
Yunzii has become one of my favorite keyboard brands over the past few years and they have hit it out of the park with this one!
One of the things that separates them, in my opinion, is their ability to take a chance on alternative keyboard designs and make them as better than most “standard” looking boards. The C68 with the cat theme is a great board and just fun much like this 98% C98!
So the C98 is a 98% keyboard, almost full size, with just a few keys removed to save you some space on your desk. As for the theme Yunzii has called this their “Cake” keyboard and while I know it sounds cheesy, it’s good enough to eat.
First of all the board is packed extremely well. Once you’ve removed the outside cover and opened the box you will find a plethora of goodies. Mine cam with a cupcake mousepad that is quite thick and very nice, extra keycaps for style and for Mac use then the standard cable, cap remover etc…
When you take the keyboard out your first reaction will be the weight, this is easily as heavy as some AL board. The second will be the multiple textures on the plastic. There is almost not flex in the board and everything just oozes quality from the first moment you pick it up.
As I already know I love them I choose the Milk V2 switches, the are a very smooth liner that while light have just enough weight that you will know you are actually typing. In regards to typing, it’s a dream, truly a fantastic feel and sound. If you want that “cloud” like creamy sound… this definitely has it.
The MOA profile is also very nice as well, if you are use to cherry or OWM you will get use to this quickly and may find it easier to type on. I’ve been trying different profiles and personally really enjoy the OWM feel.
From a wireless stand point I had no issues connecting to my PC or Mac with 2.4Ghz or BT. It’s worth noting that the battery on this keyboard is HUGE, that may be part of the weight when you pick it up. While I usually leave my keyboard wired I didn’t get any noticeable battery drain during the time I used it wireless and that was with all the lights on (which there are a lot!)
Personally I like to have a VOL knob but from a design standpoint I don’t think it would look right. To me I love the look on this keyboard as is and FN F11 and F12 work just fine for VOL up and down.
Overall I can’t think of anything I would change on this after using it about 3 weeks now. It’s phenomenal and the look is truly adorable as are the included accessories.
If you are on the fence about this, give it a shot as keyboard. It’s a great board and the look is really just “icing on the cake”
Amazing quality and sound!
This is one of the best and pretty looking keyboards in my 20 keyboard inventory! The typing sound and feel of this keyboard is top notch. The keycaps are high quality whimsical and pretty to look at. I love the solid feel and the thocky sound of this keyboard. In fact, I have not been able to change out my rotation of keyboards as I normally do since buying this Yunzii cake keyboard! The aesthetic design is gorgeous! I have gotten lot of compliments from my clients who say that they sound is pleasing and relaxing although loud and boisterous! I am totally obsessed with this keyboard! I highly recommend this keyboard to anyone who likes the thocky sounding acoustics of a mechanical keyboard.
