Pleasantly Surprised & A Good Value!
Living in a tropical climate, I’m all too familiar with the effects of getting into a vehicle that has been sitting in the hot sun all day. As such, I have tried numerous different sun shades for the windshield, often times disappointed in the results/bulk coupled with the cost that I spent.
This sun shade is unique and follows a design that is seemingly becoming more popular. Rather than a wire framed shade or flexible accordion style, this sun shade takes the latter approach but uses a thick cardboard (or similar) for its structure. In order to maintain this type of design, the sun shade needs to be correctly sized for the vehicle. This unit delivers in that regard. You can clearly see the lines along the top of the shade match the curves of the headliner. This is very much appreciated as even OEM branded units I have tried didn’t have this level of detail – and they were three times the cost.
Installing the shade is a breeze, and I have found that it is easiest to slightly fold the outer edges inward so that it clears the grab handles on each side. Since the shade is rigid, adjusting it into position is actually easier than if it were the typical flexible style of shade. The fit and finish of the shade is very good, presenting itself as a quality item.
The outside layer is stated to be an ‘Advanced Silver’ but between this and the rigid internals (which act as an insulator) there is a noticeable difference in temperature when using this product. The inside of the shade is black/grey and feels like microsuede which also contributes to the temperature effect. It also prevents you from installing it incorrectly.
Noting the pictures that I have included there is a small gap on each side of the windshield, but I find this to be a fair compromise between quickly installing the shade rather than struggling to get it into place – correctly.
Also included is a storage bag, which I have not utilized (lazy) too date.
For the money, this item is hard to beat, and it provides an effective solution in reducing cabin temperatures and damage to the dashboard!

Well made solid folding sun shade is black on the inside and silver reflective on one windshield side. It fits around the mirror but it does not stay in place (Sags at top) unless you push it down into the dash/windshield gap and then it has a section at the top with no sun shade. yes that is were the windshield has the darkest tint so I guess it doesn’t matter.
The other problem is storage. Folded it is about 8 iches wide, 2 inches thick and 31 inches long and it comes with a nice bag with a draw string. It could be stored under the back seat if you have the space for it. Unfortunately I already have that storage area full. I really want to like this so Im going to use it for awhile longer and update this review later.
