Good Cam!
I installed this 3channel dash cam in my car recently and it has been very capable and reassuring on the road. What sets it apart from simpler models is the simultaneous front, inside, and rear recording, giving you a complete picture of what’s happening around and inside your vehicle. The front camera records at 2.7K and the cabin/rear cameras at 1440p, which captures fine details like road signs and plates better than basic dash cams I’ve used before.
Night vision is strong thanks to the STARVIS 2 sensors and HDR enhancements. Footage stays clear even in low light, so insurance or safety footage looks solid whether it’s dusk or dark out. The builtin GPS logs your route and speed as part of each clip, which is really useful if you ever need to share footage after an incident.
The WiFi connectivity and app access make reviewing and downloading videos a lot easier than removing an SD card every time. The setup process was straightforward and the menus are intuitive once you get used to them. The 24/7 parking mode with buffered motion detection gives extra peace of mind when parked, though you’ll want to hardwire it if you intend to use that feature constantly without draining your battery.
One thing to keep in mind is that the unit is a bit larger than some singlechannel cams, so you need to plan your mounting spot carefully so it doesn’t block your view. Otherwise this dash cam is a solid choice for comprehensive coverage in daily driving, family trips, or rideshare use.
Didn’t Realize How Useful This Would Be Until I Actually Installed I
I got this mainly for peace of mind while driving, especially with how unpredictable things can get on the road. I wasn’t expecting to think about it much after installing it, but it ended up being one of those things I’m really glad I have every time I drive.
The setup was easier than I thought. It looked a bit complicated at first with multiple cameras, but once I started, it was pretty straightforward. Everything connects logically, and I was able to get it running without needing anything extra. After that, it just works in the background without me having to mess with it.
What really stood out is the coverage. Having front, inside, and rear recording makes a big difference. It’s not something you notice immediately, but knowing that everything around the car is being captured just gives a different level of confidence. I don’t have to worry about missing anything important.
The video quality is actually impressive. During the day, everything looks clear and sharp, and even at night, it still captures details well. I’ve checked a few recordings out of curiosity, and it’s easy to make out things like license plates and surroundings without struggling.
Another thing I like is how stable it feels. It doesn’t overheat, doesn’t randomly shut off, and just keeps recording consistently. Once it’s on, I don’t think about it at all, which is exactly how something like this should be.
The GPS feature is also something I didn’t think I’d care about, but it’s useful having that extra information like speed and location recorded along with the footage. It just adds another layer of detail if you ever need it.
I’ve also used the app a few times, and it’s convenient being able to access footage without removing anything. It saves time, especially when you just want to quickly check something.
After using it for a while, it just feels like a normal part of the car now. It’s not something flashy, but it quietly does its job every time I drive. That peace of mind alone makes it worth having.
Video quality is good
After installing the Vantrue N4S 3-channel dash cam in my car recently and so far it’s been a solid upgrade. Setup was pretty straightforward. The cables were long enough to route cleanly, and the adhesive mount holds firmly without needing extra tools.
The video quality is clear from all three cameras. During the day, license plates and road details are easy to read, and at night it’s still usable with decent clarity. The interior camera is helpful as well, especially if you drive with passengers.
The Wi-Fi connection makes it convenient to review and download clips without removing the SD card. Overall, it does what I need it to do — reliable recording from multiple angles without complicated installation.
Three-way coverage that feels like total peace of mind
I mounted this dash cam in my daily driver right after a close call on the highway made me realize I needed real evidence if things went sideways again. I have had it running for a couple of weeks straight now, and flipping through the footage confirms it is a great dash cam that catches everything without any problem.
I’ve read back the specs for the review and realized that one of the reason I loved it so much for it’s clarity was the the triple “starvis 2” sensors that deliver sharp 1440p across front, cabin, and rear, with wide angles that eliminate blind spots.
Plates pop even at night thanks to the platepix mode and hdr balancing but when activated, the rest of the image suffers slightly. Infrared lights make the inside view crystal clear in the dark, perfect for rideshares or just documenting passengers, and the ip67 waterproof rear cam shrugs off rain without blurring. Setup was straightforward for a dashcam: tuck the cables behind panels, pair the 5ghz wifi app for quick downloads, and voice controls let me lock clips handsfree.
Not to forget, there’s a nice parking mode with prerecording that has already snagged a hitandrun attempt while I was out, buffering 10 seconds before impact so nothing slips by. There’s a builtin gps logs routes and speeds too, which could be gold for insurance if needed but you most likely already know from checking the product page.
For allaround protection that feels premium without fuss, this 3channel setup nails it day or night.
With two cars, I have owned several Vantrue dashcams while upgrading them every year with newer features. The Vantrue Nexus N4S with 2.7K front + 1440P rear + 1440P interior replaces my N4 Pro 3-channel dashcam. In addition to higher resolution, it also includes three Starvis 2 sensors for ultra sharp HD clarity and 150, 165, 160 wide angle lenses. These really provide full surround coverage. The cameras are very sharp and colorful at night or in low light, able to read signs and license plates even among changing contrast or street lights.
One of the best upgrades is the newest and easiest mounting systems. Everything comes in the box including two mounting plates (for two different cars), static cling films, 3M adhesive, cables, and cable clips. The GPS mount attaches to the mounting plate and the main dashcam mounts magnetically, making removal or swapping between cars very quick.
5Ghz WiFi connection makes access and downloading with your phone easy. Vantrue also redesigned this unit for easy on-board control and access. Note the new orange power button also doubles as a snapshot trigger. Direct access for up to 1TB micro SD card and USB-C port is no longer hidden behind a cover. My favorite convenience is the voice commands to switch camera views, take snapshots, start/stop recording, and mute sound.
My wife requested a dash cam, so Is started researching. Vantrue is the brand I always search first so I found this newer model of their N4S. I purchased and it arrived quickly.
The dashcam is just the right size. It doesn’t create any visibility issues either in the front dash cam and the rear. This is important as I don’t want visibility reduced. Vantrue includes everything you need for installation. It took perhaps about 15 minutes to install. The tool included made it easy to hide the cabling in the edges of the roof. Adhesive included is strong and I don’t have any concern that it will come loose. The rear dashcam has been changed a bit but it works just as well. No concerns there. Once installed, everything is solid. The front mount allows for additional adjustment. The cabin camera has a wide angle, so all you have to do is adjust the vertical view.
The dashcam works as it should. It turns on when you turn your car on. There are options to wire into the fuse panel if you want monitoring at all times, but for me it works. The unit powers on very quickly. It is very easy to setup. I do like the ability to connect to the cam via app (wifi) to quickly view footage without having to pull the sd card and run to a computer. Files are saved in three directories for each camera (front, cabin, rear). Although i haven’t used it, they do have software that will show GPS data of the videos. The display is just the right size to have an approximate view of the cameras. I do like the sd card format reminder as regular formatting is a good idea. My wife likes the voice activated features as well.
My wife has been using in her car for a week and has had no issues. I pulled some footage and the videos are clear and even videos from the evening are decent. The dashcam should kind of be invisible until you need it. I feel like we can trust it to do what it is supposed to do.
If you are looking for a dependable dash cam that just works, this is the one for you. Easy install, easy use. You can’t miss with Vantrue dash cams. I have used them for over 8 years and the first model i purchased is still working fine. At this price point, this is hands down the best dashcam out there. It has the features of the more expensive ones.
This is my 4th Vantrue dash cam that I have purchased and I’m very happy with this model. Great features and crisp, clear recordings. Dash cam has a large screen and that made it even easier to setup and install. I also purchased the hardwire kit so there are no visible wires. I like how it has the third camera that records inside the car. This is great for recording conversations that might happen at the driver side window. Great product that I would definitely recommend.
Really like this dash-cam and rear camera. This is my second vantrue, previously purchased one in 2018 and i’m very happy with their products. Installation was easy I thought, you will just have to tuck and snake the cable for the rear camera. It plugs into the main camera and then I use the cigarette lighter for the power source. Cables are plenty long enough to tuck and hide. I also recommend installing the app and then synchronize your camera to it for access to your videos. Once you’re setup, it is easy to familiarize yourself with the camera settings also. I attached a snapshot of all three cameras while viewing the live feed through the app. Highly recommend this camera and I think it is reasonably priced.
Sharp and clear, even at night!
I’ve gone through a few basic dash cams over the years, but the Vantrue N4S is on a completely different level. After running this in my daily driver for a bit, I can honestly say it feels like true all-around protection, not just a simple front-facing camera. The triple channel setup is what really sold me. Having front, interior, and rear recording all at once gives full coverage of everything happening around and inside the vehicle. The front camera in 2.7K is SUPER sharp, and both the inside and rear at 1440p are clear enough to confidently read plates and road signs. The Starvis 2 sensors and HDR really make a difference at night. I tested it on dark side streets and in underground parking, and the footage was still detailed and usable. Headlight glare is handled well, and it does a solid job of making plates read clearly.
Installation was easier than I expected. The magnetic GPS mount is a great touch. It feels secure but lets you remove the unit quickly if needed. The included trim tool and clips helped me tuck the wires cleanly along the headliner and pillars. The rear camera cable was long enough for my vehicle without feeling stretched. I like that the rear camera rotates fully, so dialling in the exact angle was simple. The wifi connection is noticeably fast. I was able to connect to the app and pull clips to my phone within a few seconds or a minute, depending on the length of the clip. GPS logging works reliably and adds speed and location data to the footage, which could be really important if you ever need to share video with insurance. It supports up to 1TB micro SD cards, which is great for longer recording loops. Just keep in mind that a card is not included, so you will need to pick one up in anticipation of setting this up.
One thing to note is that parking mode requires the hardwire kit since it uses a supercapacitor instead of a built-in battery. Personally, I prefer the supercapacitor design for heat and cold durability, especially with Canadian winters and hot summers, but it is an extra step if you want 24-hour monitoring. All in all, this feels like a premium, well built dash cam with serious performance. The video quality, triple coverage, fast app access, and solid mounting system make it something I feel confident relying on every time I drive. If you want full coverage and strong night performance in one system, the N4S is absolutely worth it. Highly recommend!
Huge upgrade to my old dash cam! This thing is amazing.
I have owned a few dash cams over the years but this Vantrue N4S is easily the best one I have used so far. The quality is obvious as soon as you take it out of the box.
The 3 channel design is something new to me. In the past, all my dash cams were just a single camera pointing towards the road in the front.
Being able to record the front, the inside of the car, and the rear all at the same time gives me so much peace of mind. My old single camera setup was missing a lot of what was happening around my vehicle but now I feel like I have total coverage.
The picture quality is amazing during the day and it actually looks fantastic at night too. It uses a high end sensor which really helps pick up details like licence plates even in dark streets. It also has built in GPS which is a great feature that my previous cameras were missing.
Currently extended the storage with a 128GB memory card, but this thing can apparently even support up to 1TB cards. Something to keep in mind if you ever find you want to store even more footage at a time.
It also comes with a magnetic mount which makes it really simple to pop the camera off the windshield if I ever want to quickly remove it from the car.
Just keep in mind that if you want the 24 hour parking mode to work while the car is off you will need to buy a separate hardwire wiring setup. At this price point, I kinda wish they included it, but I can also understand why they wouldn’t. Most people won’t be able to install the kit without assistance, so it might end up going to waste and never actually used.
I really think every driver should have one of these. It is a great way to stay protected and have proof ready for insurance if an accident ever happens. I am super impressed with it.
