I wish it were a bit smaller but I think it’s worth it due to its speed and functionality. If you’re a fan of the upcoming World Cup it’s a plus! The lanyard and soccer whistle aesthetic makes up for it!
Good storage option for fans of the spo
This SanDisk128 GB flash drive does exactly what it claims to do. After confirming it was authentic, I ran several of my own transfer tests. I used both large single-file transfers to check sequential speeds and mixed batches of smaller files to see how it handled more typical, real-world use. In both cases, the read and write speeds lined up very closely with the advertised specs. Throughput stayed steady during longer transfers, and I didn’t notice any throttling or strange slowdowns.
The usable capacity after formatting was right where I expected it to be, and the drive mounted quickly across different systems without any hiccups. It just works. Build quality is solid as well. Even with the odd form factor of looking like a whistle, the housing feels sturdy without being too bulky, and the USB connector fits snugly without wobble. It gives the impression that it’ll hold up well over time.
Overall, this is a dependable, properly performing flash drive that delivers accurate speeds and reliable storage. If you care about specs actually matching real-world performance, this one checks out.
Comes with Sandisk backup software
This is a great little flash drive. It has a cute design, with the FIFA world cup 26 info on the whistle portion and the lanyard. It has great storage capacity, 128GB with a USB-C connection instead of type-A. This is a great benefit, since it not only fits most modern laptops, but also phones and tablets. This allows for file transfer between your laptop and your phone, or allows you to off-load those millions of photos on your phone to free up some space.
It comes with the Sandisk software for backing up important files. Just plug it in and run the install.
There are two negatives, that cost is just one star, but may not be applicable in all circumstances. The first is the cap. There is no retainer for the cap, and it is a rare USB cap that doesn’t get lost (in my case) without this feature. I’m bound to lose it. The other is related to the lanyard. There is no quick release clip, or breakaway for the lanyard, which means you have to physically take the whole thing off from around your neck and leave the whole strap hanging off of your phone or laptop while in use. If you don’t use the lanyard, then this is not a problem.
This SANDISK 128GB USB-C Flash Drive, FIFA World Cup 2026 Edition is cute. Yeah, that’s what I’m going with; cute. The design is just so simple, so silly, but also so smart. Modeling the drive after a whistle, and then pulling off the stem to reveal the hookup, is great design! My only complaint is it doesn’t also work as a whistle, hah!
First off, if you’re a collector; the box includes multiple stickers proclaiming authenticity, and the back of the packaging has a very shiny “authentic FIFA” sticker on it. Also includes a themed lanyard. I don’t know what the collectors space for stuff like this looks like, but I’m sure there will be at least a few people wanting to snag some of these to keep for their collection.
Now, for people looking to actually use them; as I mentioned, the design is very convenient. Easy to uncap and plug into a phone or a PC, anything with a USB-C port. I only worry you may lose the cap; tho it fits snuggly over the port, it doesn’t attach to the body of the drive/whistle, and misplace it once and it’s gone forever. However, it’ll be a lot harder to lose the drive itself; the included Sandisk/FIFA printed lanyard feels very nice, very smooth, very well printed, and sturdy enough you don’t have to worry. Just make sure you attach it to the drive!
On my Windows 10 PC, drive was detected just as expected at first use. Actual size is 114gb, and some brief testing indicates it communicates at the advertised speeds. Out of the box, the drive includes proprietary sandisk software installers, as well as a PDF user’s manual. You can, of course, use these if you want, but you don’t need to. It functions just as you’d expect as a normal USB drive right out of the box.
So whats my overall evaluation? It seems good. Seems well made, and Sandisk is a big name, you likely don’t have to worry. I thin ultimately it comes down to aesthetic; do you want a USB drive shaped like a whistle? If so, this’ll fit the bill. Definitely a good gift for a tech savvy FIFA fan, or heck, just anyone with a phone.
