Great detector took it out to the yard just for fun and found a penny I had shot as kid with BB gun. Found everything from tinfoil to things I know have been buried for at least 30 yrs. Might be a bit sensitive and will read anything metal so gets confusing. It came with a folding pick/shovel for light duty work, carry back pack, and earplugs. The trick is definitely the PP button which centers the spot. That helped a lot. A great buy for beginners. WARNING your yard will look a mess.
Good battery life, Lightweight, Pinpoint function, Effective
This is a pretty complete all-in-one package for someone wanting a budget metal detector. I have a generic model older detector that uses a couple 9v batteries and this one is a dramatic improvement over that, especially in terms of battery life.
I like the pinpoint function, because when using others that don’t have this, you’re left guessing exactly where it is that is the best place to dig.
The screen is pretty easy to read, even in sunlight and it has brightness settings to deal with changes in lighting. I could see it getting easily scratched or scuffed up to the point of being unusable eventually, so I would recommend they include one of those adhesive transparent plastic shields people use on cellphones and other screens just to keep it a bit more protected maybe.
The sensitivity adjustment is a real plus because usually you’re just finding a bunch of junk metal or dirt that is heavily mineralized like mine which has a lot of iron in it.
The different modes are a nice feature and I like that you can exclude certain ranges of metal types.
I tested it both on things like my steel-toe boots for reference (which sometimes it would pick up if I was walking too fast, so keep that in mind if you’re wearing them). I also was able to find brass and copper pretty easily. I used it to locate an extension cord under a bunch of leaves (see photos).
This does find things that are fairly deep, as I have some debris that has been buried and erosion has caused some to be under a couple extra layers of dirt. Despite this, items like individual sections of mattress springs, even though some were heavily rusted, bits of wiring, small metal car parts, etc. were all picked up.
Overall, a very decent metal detector. I gave it 4 stars because there are a couple things I’d improve that, though they aren’t critical, do affect the usability and value to me:
(1) There is no strap provided for keeping this on your forearm. There are slots in the lower section where your forearm rests for a strap to fasten to, but no strap. It’s not in the marketing photo either, to be fair. It might be easy enough to create something, but it seems like something they should have put in there, given there are slots for it. I think this matters a lot more if using the detector for a longer period of time or if you have to take your hand grip off for a second but don’t want to put the detector down.
(2) The clamp to adjust the multiple pole sections being extended/collapsed is not strong. Even fully engaged, it doesn’t effectively secure it in place if even modest pressure is applied to it. I don’t know if it needs more rubberized material to grip better or what. It’s not a huge issue if you’re mindful of it, but I think it’s something that could be improved to keep it from losing grip at the wrong time, potentially damaging something.

Ordered/Received this Metal Detector for Adults – (12″) Deep/Depth – 4,000mah Battery W/USB Charging System – (6) Mode Settings – Shovel – Manuals – W/Storage Case – for myself and family use. I’ve always been interested in finding anything from coins, jewelry, tools, & etc. when going camping, fishing, or just closely looking for various items while hiking. I Used to have a large old metal detector (old school) several years ago, but it got to be such a pain to use, as it used the costly batteries and they wouldn’t last long, and it was awful heavy. It did a fairly good job of helping me find shallow things, but it wouldn’t detect but a few inches deep. Finally got rid of it few years back. Now that my kids are adults and now have Grandchildren, they love getting together as a family and they love going fishing, camping, and hiking with me. They have kept reminding me that they always enjoyed digging and searching for items with me as it was fun for them while growing up. Recently while shopping online for an underground wiring locator for my work, I saw this “rechargeable, digital metal detector” and that got my attention and started reading about it. The more I read about it, the more I wanted it!. This is a much “modern day” and upgraded metal detector as it has digital readout, USB charging system, detects items up to 5ft in the ground!. After reading that it has (6) mode settings, digital display to quickly choose items I’m looking for, and even comes with ear plugs to listen to the monitor. I had to have it and placed my order as I thought it was a fair price. This was a great find for me. I knew right out of the box it was well made. This baby has it all. It came complete with USB charging system, user manuals, ear plugs for monitoring, and even a shovel to dig up items found. No “old fashion anything here”, it’s very modern and has digital readouts. I like the (6) mode settings to choose whether I want to look for gold, coins, or an old tool, or jewelry. I let it charge up completely and used it about all weekend and it still had power left. Recently, my Son came running back into our home all excited that he was using it and found a small metal toy truck in our field that he had lost while I was plowing the corn field when he was a child. It was sentimental to him back then, and is for sure again now as he just turned 39 years old. So that little truck has been underground for about 35 years. He has it all cleaned up and displayed on his dresser. That one find alone was well worth it all to me!. This detector is much better than I ever expected for the money. It’s very accurate and easy to operate. It also has a nice “backlit” display board to see when it’s darker while being in a wooded area. I’m looking forward to using it a lot this spring as we had a once in a 500 year awful flood at our close by river that destroyed & took homes, vehicles, farm equipment, & etc. that’s never even been found yet. It crossed & flooded (3) states. This nice unit came complete with all needed accessories and a nice storage bag. My favorite part is the “digital readout” as it accurately tells me just how many inches deep a coin or wrench is under the soil. It easily earns a (5) star rating in my opinio
