Product description

Smarter Than Me Before Coffee (and My Lawn Is Thriving)
I bought the QUOBAS Smart WiFi Water Timer hoping to stop my plants from living a chaotic “maybe they’ll get watered, maybe they won’t” lifestyle, and it absolutely delivered.
Setup was easier than expected. Connecting it to WiFi and the app didn’t require a tech degree, which I appreciated. Once it’s running, the app control is super convenient; I can schedule watering, adjust timing, or just manually start it without stepping outside (perfect for those “I just sat down” moments).
The 2-zone feature is a game changer if you’ve got different watering needs. My lawn and garden no longer have to compromise like roommates with different sleep schedules. The rain delay is also clutch; it actually feels smart instead of just a fancy timer.
Build quality feels solid, especially with the brass connectors, and I haven’t had any leaking issues. Battery-powered is nice too, no awkward cords or hunting for outlets.
Small downside: the app can take a minute to get used to, but once you figure it out, it’s smooth sailing.
Overall, it’s reliable, convenient, and makes you feel way more on top of your yard game than you probably are.
Smart WiFi Water Timer, Program Via Phone, Set Day & Time & Duration, Easy Rain Delay
This kit comes with the water timer, a WiFi gateway device, spare rubber washer, silicone tape, and instructions. The timer requires 4 x AA batteries (not included).
Following the instructions, I installed the SmartLife app and attempted to setup an account. Apparently I had done that before because it told me my account already exists. I checked my password manager and found the password. I logged in. Using the app, I connected my phone to the WiFi gateway device, which plugs into a standard electrical outlet. I then connected the gateway device to the water timer. No complications.
In the app I brought up the timer and set timings for the L (Left) and R (Right) zones. I saw that I could trigger a Rain Delay and review irrigation history. This is much better than the water timers I’ve used in the past. The data is valuable, and the convenience of using my phone is much better than squatting by an outdoor water faucet to do the programming.
I can’t actually put this outside just now because freezes are expected this week and could still happen for another month. So, on my work table, I setup schedules and listened/watched for the device to activate. Nothing happened. The home screen showed the device idle when it should have been active. Manual mode did work, though, so my 1st time programming must have been off. I’m sure I’ll figure it out.
I like this water timer. Life just got easier. My lawn will have one schedule and my garden another. I’ll have records of when each was watered. All of that from my phone. This will be a great year!
Smart, Convenient, and Great for Managing Multiple Watering Zones
I’ve been really happy with this QUOBAS 2-zone smart water timer because it makes watering so much easier and more organized. The functionality is excellent since I can control both zones from the app, switch between auto and manual watering, and use the rain delay feature when the weather changes so I do not waste water. The brass connections feel solid and durable, and they fit standard garden hose connections securely without leaking. Setup was pretty easy overall, especially if you are already familiar with using a smart home app, and once connected to WiFi it worked reliably. I like that it is battery powered, so I do not have to worry about running extra cords outside, and the remote control feature is especially helpful when I am away from home or just do not want to go outside to adjust the watering. It has been great for drip irrigation, lawn care, and keeping watering schedules consistent, and overall it feels like a very convenient and modern upgrade for anyone who wants better control over their garden watering system.
Well made, okay software!
I debated between four and five stars for these mainly because of the application that comes with it. Overall, I feel like the issues I had with the application aren’t that bad compared to having to use one of the on-screen setups that you see in some other brands, where you have to set the timer on the device itself.
On top of that, these are priced comparable to other models I’ve used, and this definitely has some upgraded features that I prefer. One of the big ones is the brass connections; it makes it feel well made and sits really well in my current setup. They include seals to help you make sure the connection is well set up. Setting up the device wasn’t that difficult with the app. I guess the issues I have with the app are more just that it feels like there could be a few more features. Considering all the other functionality, I am really pleased with it. I like that this is a two-zone unit that allows me to have more control over my garden. I’ve noticed that it turns on at the correct time. I would say maybe plus or minus 10 seconds that I would expect. I imagine this is simply just a time drift from when I set it up, but I’ve had it running for about a week now and haven’t noticed any issues. I think it was simply a small delay that might just always be there.
I haven’t used it long enough to know how good the battery is, but I’ve seen my other models last for months. If I don’t see the same thing, I’ll make sure to update my review, but at the time I think these are really great units that offer a lot of functionality. The app can be annoying at times, but once you have it set up, it just works, so super happy with that!
