Quiet and Good for Everyday Use
My husband uses the portable juice blender every day. He takes it to work and blends fruits and yogurt together to make his own smoothies. The blender is quieter than a regular blender, so his coworkers are never interrupted as he blends.
There are two modes on the front. The first blends regularly, and the other sends a “pulse” through the blender to dislodge any food or fruit that may have gotten stuck.
After he finishes blending, he takes off the blade portion. He covers it with a bottom provided in the package.
It has a motor strong enough to blend frozen fruit. He takes off a screen before he consumes his smoothie. I think it helps filter fruit.
It’s a great product for people who are always on the go.
Smoothie Season is Upon Us
Generally I do not follow the hype of a portable blender. This was a pressured purchase. As in, “Oooooo, Papa! Get that! I’ll take it after you test it.” Yeah. Grandkids know Big Papa is a sucker. I charged it up for the first time and tried a protein smoothie. Saaaaay. Nice! Made a few ice cream shakes and fruit smoothies and salsa! I use mine my way, you use yours your way. Easy to load, easy to use, easy to drink from. It has a bottom cap to replace the blades to make it easy to take it out of the house. I didn’t need my big blender and so much easier to clean!! I put my blender in the cupboard. My same granddaughter who knew Papa us a sucker and got him to order this portable blender claimed it in the name of herself who has since lorded over her sister and mother while making smoothies and bragging how great Papa is. Win-win. I will be ordering another and THIS time no child will take it from me. I hope. Definitely worth buying. Buy with confidence.
Decent Portable Blende
This is my second portable small blender cup. My other is by a big name brand, so I will be comparing this to that in some aspects. To start the plastic of this blender feels much thinner and lower quality. It also has an extra mesh piece that requires to be put on top before installing the lid, which I do not quite understand. My other blender does not have such a thing. This has silicone along the bottom so it stays sturdy on a hard surface like a countertop. There is a strap to help when transporting it. There is a charging cable and also a bottom lid for if you preblend and don’t want to take the entire mixing base out with you. Simply flip the whole thing after blending is done, twist off the blender piece and then twist on the flat lid cap. The entire blender and cup combo is not overly heavy, but it would be bulky in a purse or bag. I would only recommend washing all parts by hand due to the plastic quality not feeling great and I think it could get brittle in a hot dishwasher. As well, the rubber silicone gaskets would not do well with a lot of dishwasher cycles. And definitely never wash the blender piece in a dishwasher and never fully submerge in water. Simply and carefully rinse off then wipe with soapy water and rinse again and leave to air dry. I wish there was a silicone cover for the charging port area incase any splashes happen. As with my other blender cup, this one also struggled with the larger frozen items I incorporate into my smoothies. I add a cube of frozen spinach and frozen mixed berries. It eventually gets to a point it blends smoothly, but it did jam a couple times on larger frozen pieces like the spinach and whole strawberries. I stop it and shake it to remove the jammed piece and start it again. My smoothie was chunk free at the end, so that is what matters. It works best on protein shakes without any hard frozen bits. I do like that I have the option of Auto blend or Pulse so I can add a little extra blending without another whole session, or I could use it kind of like a small food processor. As a safety feature it does not turn on and spin the very sharp blade without the clear jar securely screwed on. At $69 it is the same price as the name brand one I have, so overall I would lean towards getting that one over this. If the price goes cheaper for this, then I would recommend it. But the quality just doesn’t feel as great or durable.
Handy blender, the build does not feel premium
I have used another portable blender before, so this one had some competition right away. It does the job, and I like the auto blend and pulse options, plus the extra lid that lets me leave the blade base at home after blending. My smoothie came out smooth in the end, but it did struggle with larger frozen pieces and needed a shake or two to get going again. The bigger issue for me is the build. The plastic feels thinner than I expected, and for around $69 it does not quite feel as sturdy as it should. Still, for protein shakes and lighter smoothies, it works well enough and has some genuinely useful features.
