2nd times a charm
Works great the 2nd time through! I didn’t add enough water the first time. But once I realized I needed more than 3 cups of water the coffee came out tasting like a French press flavor! The pot is easy to wipe out and clean and the temperature of the coffee is perfect!
This coffee percolator makes delicious, fresh tasting coffee. Coffee perks in glass opt that is plastic free. It keeps coffee warm for the second cup. We are very happy with this percolator.
I gave this a 5 star review mostly because this pot is made from heavy glass and stainless steel. Plastic never touches the coffee. You will spend over $400 to find this feature and this humble pot is under $75. I almost returned it because the coffee was too “groundy” and it was hard to clean, has to be unplugged after perking and doesn’t have a stay hot feature, no timers, no bells or whistles. But I wanted to stop using my plastic drip coffee maker and now I will tell you what I did to adjust how I make coffee so now it works for me: There are no filters that fit this pot. You have to use the metal filter. Coffee has to be very coarsely ground! The coffee starts out pretty hot which I like, but after I pour the first cup I pour the rest into a thermal container so I don’t need a stay hot feature. The coffee is perfect and this pot is pretty and functional. It perks just as fast as a drip maker. Let’s see how durable it is. But if it’s anything like my parents percolator of old, it will last a long time! Fingers crossed.
