Well made and sturdy, but put it together BEFORE you start installing. Best for identical monitors.
Similar to many monitor arms of this type, a securely locking base, sturdy upright, and a good range of motion. These all seem fairly similar and this quad style is as good or better than most. It essentially adds an extension to the upright mounting bar for a second set of arms (see picture). The package is all good, everything showed up in good shape. All of the bolts were present. Even the little collar that holds your allen wrench was there. Cable management, and all of that. Really good!
Now, my only real problem was some of the bolt alignment. May not be an issue with ever unit, but I had to put a good deal of effort into getting the upright together. The coupler and the tops of each bar were just the tiniest bit off. It worked out, but I got ahead of my self and put the bottom two monitors on before I realized I’d have to get more leverage. It’s no big deal – I just needed to measure if they’d fit. If you build it all at once, you probably won’t run into any real trouble.
The top two monitors on the extension bar didn’t really wobble (which was my fear). I have them pretty tightly arranged into a grid and the bottom two down flush with my monitor riser, so there isn’t really any place for them to go. This works well, let’s me keep my 3U x 3U monitor riser without having to crane my neck up to see the top screens.
Just tighten the bolts well but not over-tight. This kind of metal can get crushed if you go too far and it will never be the same. Other than that, it’s a breeze to put together. Great quad arm at a good price.
Great brand, great produc
I’ve had a lot of success with monTEK products in general, a couple of my tv’s and a different monitor are mounted using their products, and this is no exception. I wanted a working space in my home separate from leisure, and my work involves a lot of multitasking so multiple displays is a great help for me. This mount is smartly designed to help you get really good alignment for the four monitors, so you don’t have any OCD moments where you notice something isnt quite flush or is a little tilted. Clamp or grommet options are available, if you’re willing to do the work obviously the grommet is more elegant, but the clamp is also extremely sturdy. If you’ve put one monitor mount together you’ve done them all, and there will be no surprises during assembly, it’s pretty typical. But the product quality is there. Sturdy, stable, great product at a fair price
Very sturdy. Best with 4x identical monitors.
This is a high quality four-monitor mount that places four big monitors in the 2×2 grid layout popular on trading room floors across Wall Street. It’s a beefy construction made of solid metal, which is a good thing given the sheer amount of weight it is supporting! That does mean it’s a bit gnarly to assemble, though, with a complex double sided instruction sheet and a number of steps to get everything aligned correctly from the Erector Set of pieces in the box.
My biggest issue with this that I didn’t consider in advance is that it assumes the VESA mounts are in the same place for both monitors itting side by side; there is a slight vertical alignment but it only buys you a few millimeters up or down. I discovered that while I have four 27″ monitors, the manufacturers picked drastically different places to put the VESA mounts on the back, which is really frustrating – you’d think four Samsung Odyssey G series 27″ monitors would be consistent, but that’s.. not the case at all. Sigh. This product is best suited to fit your monitors if you are installing four monitors that are all identical rather than if you have a chaotic array of different monitors bought at different times.
I do like the concept here quite a bit, but the consistent feedback in the reviews that it’s a lot of vertical movement and neck strain is true. In my case, this array is next to _even more_ monitors, so going upward was necessary and I use the upper monitors for infrequently used things like music players or chat so it works well, but that won’t be true for everyone.
If you have four consistent monitors, this is an excellent choice. If yours are a bit more disparate, you might have a bit of an engineering project to get them to all fit correctly (although there are VESA shift brackets out there that may help in a pinch if you’re dealing with major shifts).
I bought this monitor stand to try out the four monitor grid setting, and at first glance, it feels solid and well built. It works with the VESA mounts on the monitors I already have, and the central post design keeps the setup looking clean and organized. The arms feel sturdy on paper, and the overall design gives the impression of a reliable stand.
The main limitation is the strict grid layout. With my twenty seven inch monitors, the top row would be too high, forcing me to look up more than I would like. Because of this, I do not think it is ideal for normal computer usage such as gaming, personal work, or everyday tasks. It seems better suited for security office setups or display monitors where the grid layout is actually useful. That said, I will not deduct any stars because the stand is designed to be a grid, and as such, it works as intended.
Feature wise, the stand offers plenty of adjustability. Each arm can tilt, rotate, and be set at different heights, giving flexibility in arranging monitors within the grid. It also includes both clamp and grommet mounting options, which makes it adaptable to different desk setups. The built in cable management channels are another thoughtful touch, helping keep cords organized and out of the way. Overall, it is a solid stand for its intended purpose, even if it is not ideal for personal everyday use.
