Finally got around to putting this bird feeder pole (LONA Heavy Duty Bird Feeder Pole – 105 Inch Adjustable Height with 0.9-Inch Dia Bird House Pole Mount Kit for Outdoors, Squirrel Proof Baffle, 5-Prong Base, Feeding Stand for Hanging Feeders) together since the ground has thawed. The directions could be better but it does have words and pictures. The material is really good quality, I like the texture black and it all fit perfectly together. The painted texture makes it appear to be durable and resist rusting and scratches. Once I pounded it into the ground, it all seem very stable and didn’t feel like it would topple over easily. It’s too soon to tell if that statement holds true, I need some violent storms to really test it out. So far, I like it and it can hold all the bird feeders I have, even some by the same company, they make quality products. I’m glad I was able to get this to try out.
Sturdy, Versatile, and Eye Catching - Best Bird Feeder Pole Out There
This is hands down the most heavy duty and beautiful feeder pole I have come across. The solid wood branches give it such a natural, elegant touch that sets it apart from other poles out there. It is high quality, thick, strong, and sturdy, with multiple hangers, a 5-prong base, a metal platform for mounting a feeder on top, and a wood block at the top that can be used for mounting additional items. The wood block looks nice and can just be a finishing detail at the top. It also comes with a squirrel baffle that works and keeps the squirrels from climbing up the pole. Assembly was straightforward and took me about a half hour total, with most of that time spent screwing the baffle together. Getting the pole in the ground and mounting my feeders only took about 15 minutes, so plan on roughly an hour to build and install everything start to finish. My only question is how well the solid wood branches will hold up over time with weather exposure, but they do have a protective finish and everything feels solid and high-end. I highly recommend this setup. It’s versatile, sturdy, functional, and eye-catching.

No joke on the title/description of this bird feeder pole, it is indeed heavy duty! I am really pleased with the quality of it overall and am looking forward to a safe place for the birds and the birdseed away from the squirrels who have been stealing it away! We have several feeders, one with a camera that seems to be the favorite of the squirrels because it’s easy for them to scale the wall. This pole is awesome! We are still playing with the best place for permanent installation that doesn’t give the squirrels any jumping to ability. It goes together easily especially with included instructions. It’s REALLY tall too if you have all of the pieces together but it’s nice that you can adjust to whatever height you might want by leaving a length out. I love the added arms at the top for other hanging feeders but also for the birds themselves and my favorite of all the things is the ability to secure our solar camera feeder with the top piece. That secures it perfectly and safely for wherever we plant the pole itself. I was really intimidated by the pieces as I was unpacking them but that was unwarranted once I had it all out in front of me. I would say it seemed a bit expensive to me at first but I don’t think so at all now. This feeder pole is durable and strong and will be a wonderful new way of keeping those squirrels away.

Everything arrives individually wrapped in foam sleeves and protective packaging — the pole sections, wooden arms, squirrel baffle, 5-prong ground stabilizer, U-bracket, wooden adapter board, and all necessary hardware are accounted for and well-protected. The instruction sheet is clear and assembly is straightforward since all the pole segments simply thread together, giving you adjustable height options at 73, 89, or the full 105 inches.
The build quality is a step above what you’d expect from a kit like this. The pole sections are 0.9-inch diameter steel with a clean matte black powder coat finish, and the wooden branch-style arms add a really nice aesthetic touch compared to the typical all-metal hook designs you see everywhere. The U-bracket plus wooden adapter board is a clever inclusion for mounting bird houses or feeders with non-standard hole patterns. The 18-inch cone-shaped squirrel baffle is substantial — large enough to actually be effective rather than just decorative — and it swings freely at roughly 45 degrees to dump any determined climbers. The 5-prong ground stake is beefy with 9-inch penetration depth, which should provide solid stability even with multiple feeders loaded up.
Where it loses a star is the threading tolerances on the pole sections. When you thread the segments together and tighten them down, the joints don’t seat perfectly flush. There’s a visible gap at the connection point and the sections sit slightly uneven, creating a noticeable step where they meet rather than a smooth, seamless transition. It’s not a structural concern — the pole still feels rigid and stable once assembled — but on a powder-coated steel pole that’s going to live outdoors through rain and humidity, that exposed gap where the coating doesn’t fully cover the joint is an open invitation for moisture to work its way underneath and start rusting from the inside out over time. I also replaced the balt because of the threading.
The versatility here is what really sets this kit apart. Between the hanging arms and the top-mount bracket, you can configure this as a multi-feeder station, bird house mount, seed tray stand, or any combination.
