Product description

A funny little backyard upgrade for people who fully accept their squirrel landlord era
I am SO excited about this squirrel house!
This is one of those products that is both practical and a little ridiculous in the best way. If you enjoy watching backyard wildlife, a squirrel house like this turns that into a whole tiny real-estate venture. I can picture mounting it near a tree line, adding a few treats to the feeder, and then becoming way too invested in which squirrel family claims the place. The built-in feeder is a nice touch because it makes the whole setup feel more intentional.
This is for people who genuinely enjoy backyard wildlife, kids who like nature watching, and gardeners who do not mind sharing the yard with tiny chaotic neighbors. It would also make a funny but useful gift for the person who already names the squirrels.
Squirrel luxury!
This squirrel house is really heavy and solid. My 12-year-old son was able to assemble the entire thing without trouble, which was nice.
The varnished pine feels durable, and the feeder design seems well thought out. We haven’t had any squirrels move in yet, but it looks like it will provide good shelter once they do. The wood is thick, heavy, and solid. Seriously.
A sturdy, well-built squirrel house that should last for years and offers a safe nesting space. At $65.90, it’s pricy but you get a good solid product.
The instructions could be better. You have to translate them from Martian, it seems like.
Great price, solid constructio
I’ve installed three different squirrel houses for the eastern gray squirrels in our suburban backyard. I like that this one is larger but also lightweight, making me think it is paulownia, not pine wood. The title says it is varnished, but this is raw wood, which I prefer since varnish is toxic to the squirrels. If you want to seal the wood, treat it with tung, linseed, or mineral oil, all of which are food- and critter-safe. Building this house took me all of 20 minutes, and like anything with screws, you should allow for jimmying to make things fit together. The ability to clean this without taking it down is much appreciated. I opted not to install the plexiglass piece designed to hold food, since I do not plan to climb a 15-foot ladder to fill it every day. The holes are on the smaller side for our larger eastern squirrels, but they have customized their other homes by gnawing away at the opening, so this should be fine. For $65, this is a solid squirrel house and is priced much lower than others I have purchased.
