Create Wonderful Tasting Juices With An Easy To Use Machine
I’ve wanted a juicer for awhile, but I was kind of intimidated by the process or the idea. This was my first time to use a machine like this and I was pleasantly surprised as how easy it is. The parts are fairly easy to assemble in the correct order. On my first try, I did have to adjust the auger before the machine would strart. I first juiced some small oranges. The machine ground them at a steady speed – not super fast, but it produced juice at a good rate. And it tasted wonderful. I next did two apples. I cut them to remove the seeds, but didn’t peel them. This produced a slightly frothy or foamy juice. It may have settled had I let it sit a bit but I was anxious to try it. It tasted great! Both juices were smooth and full of flavor. There was only small bits left in the machine when I was done. Cleanup concerned me, but the machine disassembles and cleans up very easily. It only took a moment to wash with a soapy dishcloth and warm water. I wiped the parts dry and reassembled so it is ready for the next time. The machine feels durable and sturdy. It isn’t terribly loud, either. There is a safety feature that I like – if the lid is open, the machine will not start and if already running, it will stop. I found this machine very easy to use, it extracts a lot more juice than I can by hand and the pulp is ground fine. I think it could be used for other things for little to no waste, and breaking down and cleaning the machine is quick and easy. It is worth keeping fruits and veggies on hand for!
Good Budget Model
We recently bought a home that boasts two mature citrus trees in the back yard. I cannot eat the lemons or orange fast enough, so I decided to give this juicer a shot. My first attempt was juicing just enough oranges for a fajita marinade. There was a learning curve for the first assembly, but the instructions are clear and helpful, so it wasn’t too bad. Once I had everything locked into place, the juicer worked beautifully. It processed the fruit at a decent pace and gave me a good quality OJ. The noise level felt reasonable to me. I didn’t have any issues with clogging (though this machine does have a “reverse” option, in case that becomes an issue with higher volumes). This juicer powered through maybe two pounds of oranges without an issue.
I had seen some mentions of cleaning issues, so I cleaned the machine promptly. I didn’t want to give the pulp any time to dry in place. Keeping that in mind, it cleaned well. There’s a small brush included and everything separates nicely, so there aren’t too many tight crevices that are unreachable. I opted to clean before continuing with my recipe, and I’m glad I did. I suspect that if I had allowed the pulp to dry, it would have been more annoying to clean.
I think the amount of cleaning probably doesn’t justify using this for small amounts of juicing, particularly since everything has to be carefully hand-washed. But when I harvest the trees properly and have buckets of fruit to juice and freeze, this will be far more efficient than juicing by hand or with an electric reamer-style juicer. The lid is easy to pop up to add more fruit. The machine is light weight enough that I can easily move it myself. The plastic pieces make me wonder about longevity, but I expect that it will work well for at least a few years. And maybe it will surprise me and go beyond that! Overall, it seems like a very good budget model juicer. I’m not looking to spend a ton on a juicer right now, so this was perfect for me.
Works well and squeezed out a lot of juice
This cold press juicer is pretty good and the best part is definitely the wide chute. Not having to chop everything into tiny pieces saves a ton of time and it’s actually quiet enough that I can use it in the morning without waking everyone up. The quality of the plastic container and pieces feels durable. The safety feature where the lid has to be closed is really nice, but during the setup process, I didn’t realize that the lid had to be opened to twist and lock the container securely onto the juicer machine.
The amount of juice that it squeezed out was fairly good too. I used three large oranges which I peeled, because I knew that the orange peels would affect the flavor of the orange juice, and the three peeled oranges were able to fit within the container easily. The orange pulp came out somewhat dry and the amount of juice that I got almost filled up the cup that was provided with the machine, which looked to be about 10 ounces of juice. I did have an issue where a couple of the last orange slices didn’t go through the auger, but the reverse feature helped resolve that problem. In the end, the orange juice that it produced came out smooth without any pulp.
Cleanup is usually the dealbreaker for me with juicers and since this juicer has seven different parts, including the cups, it felt a bit overwhelming to hand wash them but it was doable. The parts pop off quickly and you can just rinse them clean in the sink without much scrubbing, but since the container, the filter, and auger have intricate designs on them, I found that those parts took a tedious amount of effort to fully clean.
Also, I tried to check if this cold press juicer offered any replacement parts just in case the plastic jar or machine fails, but I wasn’t able to find anything except that this company offered a warranty. So definitely take that into consideration just in case. But overall, I was impressed with the way this juicer worked.
