Golden Review Award: 13 From Our UsersMatches 9800x3d For VR Use
I came from a dying 14700k which was replacing a 13700k, both of which were bought with in the last 2yrs that says a lot for the 1314000 series.

My PC is solely used for Simracing in VR running a 4k per eye resolution headsets and 144hz monitors and the CPUs were paired with a Gigabyte Gaming OC 5090. There are many side applications running at the same time as the main sim title LMU and a typical session is about 1 – 2 hrs long, needless to say the demand on the PC is high. The CPU/ GPU has always been water cooled with temps staying in the mid to low 40s during game play.

I’ve been running the 270k Plus for about a month now and have seen a very noticeable uplift in performance measured not solely by FPS but by being able to turn up in game values to high and Ultra while still hitting 87 – 90 FPS on a Pimax Crystal Super 50ppd. All the while keeping the headset values at 3560 x 3560ppd with a smooth stutter free image, 25 cars visible during a session. I have pushed it higher and gotten a smooth image, but at this resolution everything is super clear and CPU/GPU timings area under 9 which is more than good for VR.

I went with the 270k Plus over switching to AMDs 9800x3d purely on a cost value. I already had DDR5 ram in the previous setup with the 14700k so I only needed a motherboard to use the 270k Plus and I went with an Asus z890 Maximus Hero. This was a savings of $1000 by sticking with intel considering I would have needed new ram and a new AMD motherboard and an AMD compatible waterblock as well as the AMD CPU which CPU alone was $170 more expensive than the 270k.

I am sure the 9800x3d would have given a few frames more, but in all the reviews I found it would have been only 3 – 5 more frames which didn’t justify an additional $1000 to make the switch and the performance I get with the 270k is just right for my needs, which when considering what I am trying to push I can’t see anyone really needing much more.

Only time will tell if the 270k holds up or fails like the previous Gen CPUs did for me but at current cost I’d go with the 270k again.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThe CPU with the best price-to-performance ratio right now
Stop overpaying for the top-tier flagship—the Core Ultra 7 270K Plus is the absolute sweet spot! It costs way less than the 285K while delivering practically the same snappiness and power.

Out in the wild, its gaming performance leaves every non-X3D Ryzen CPU behind, all while being a massive productivity powerhouse. Stability is flawless, and it handles heavy workloads without overheating or breaking a sweat.

The real icing on the cake is the Z890 platform. Prices for Z890 boards are very reasonable now, and the connectivity, I/O ports, and memory overclocking headroom are miles ahead of AMD’s motherboards. If you want a future-proof, stable, and high-performance rig without throwing money away, this CPU is a no-brainer!

    Intel comes back!
Put this into my last build. Intel made a huge leap with this one. This CPU loads a Minecraft server in less than one second. Stays around 70 to 80c under load with my Noctua heatsink. The install was easy on my Asus board. I have no negatives with this purchase. I gave my son my old I7 12700k and it is still running strong. I got almost double the performance. Worth every penny.

Golden Review Award: 13 From Our UsersImproved memory controller and performance back in line to hyperthreading
Performance gains across the board over the 265k. I have been waiting for this chip to come out ever since I got the 265k and the new platform that does not include hyper threading. I am happy to note that the performance gains are back on track with the extra cores. The 265k only gave a slight bump in some programs over my 14700k. The 270k outperforms the 14700k across the board. The first 2 images compare the 265k to 270k with a jump from 59 to 63 with Intel performance set in BIOS. More notable is the performance gain in memory and GPU speeds. The second 2 images are Changing the BIOS to Unleash mode. The 265k processor jumps to 62 while the 270k jumps to 72 That is a substantial gain. While the memory jumps in both and interestingly I lost a bit of GPU performance for some reason with the 270k in Unleash mode. These are just initial tests and I will be optimizing settings for peak performance. The comparison is on the same hardware, OS and BIOS settings other than switching the performance settings between Intel optimization and Unleash mode for a true comparison. Overall I am happy with the performance gains achieved. The star off is due to this being the last chip for the LGA1851 socket.

Update: Last image shows I got my GPU performance up quite a bit after a few tweaks. Been loving the 270k

Intel weiter so you are back on the track !!!

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersImpressions after a couple months of use.
As advertised and talked about by benchmarkers. The processor delivers well in multitasking and rendering. Installs just like any other processor and has good stability with OC profiles. Uses Asus new AI OC tuning for live over locking based on load. When working on 3d models or rendering objects the processor quick clocks high to meet demand averaging 5.5k Mhz. When idling with just music playing it has gone as low as 3.8k Mhz.

Definitely want a good cooler with this processor. Dedicated air cooler with chambers or a high end AiO. The area around the PC gets 2-5 degrees warmer then the rest of the room. Under load the CPU hits 60C at the highest so far under load with a AiO running about 65% to maintain that temperature.

If you want a high end all round processor that can work and play. This is the processor. The AMD alternative is powerful and good for gaming and single core processes… But doesn’t compare when it comes to high end emulation, rendering, and multi core tasks.

    Hope this helps!

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersAmazing for the money
The biggest underdog in CPUs right now. With really fast ram and a dim motherboar this will exceed every CPU except for the 9950x3dx2. I am astonished at a CPU can do this powerful for so little money. And the best part is it’s efficient. I’m really sad that arrow Lake will be thrown away in about 6 months

Dont overpay locally, but Great CPU.
Spent a long time comparing the Intel Core Ultra 7 Plus with the Core Ultra 9, and I’m really happy I chose this one.

The performance is excellent for gaming, video editing, and everyday work. For most people, the Ultra 9 Plus isn’t worth the extra money because the real-world performance difference is very small.

My only issue is the price in the UAE. I paid around AED 1,450, while the global price is around $300. That’s roughly a 45% markup

If you can, buy it through Amazon Global or from outside the UAE. You’ll save a lot of money.

Other than the local pricing, I have nothing to complain about. Great CPU and an easy recommendation.

Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersCost effective
I chose this CPU because it is relatively inexpensive for my purposes. I’m replacing a Ryzen 9950X with this because I’m migrating the Ryzen to be my hypervisor for my home network. Compared to it, this one provides slightly improved single-threaded performance and provides better frame rates in most games. While the Ryzen has 16, full sized cores, I don’t need that many in my workstation / play system but can use them in my hypervisor. I cool it with a large, Noctua cooler and it has been a reliable system.
