Easy to install? Hell no, even having experience doing it twice before. Remember to undo one of the corner poles to get that last corner on, then replace that corner bolt. That goes for the smaller top section, and especially for the larger section. This canopy is extremely tight. Yes- you will need a second person to help you. Durability/Sturdiness? Not as thick as the original Target-sold replacements, so I don’t expect it to last the same 3 years.
I’ve bought this item 3 times. It seems that each time it was smaller. This last time we could not get it on at all. After rewatching videos and rereading directions, we confirmed that we were putting it up correctly. Finally, we measured the canopy. The top is to be 52″ and it is only 50″. The bottom portion is described as being 129″. Three sides are 126″ and the fourth is 127″. It doesn’t fit.
We waited for good weather to put it up, then couldn’t because it was too small. We researched to see if we were doing something wrong and tried again the next weekend. So now I can’t return it. Please be sure to try putting it on to check the sizing, as soon as you get it.
Fits tigh
At first I was disappointed. I went through garden winds customer service to make sure I got the right canopy. But after I got it I couldn’t get the last corner on. Was still a few inches too small.
So I looked up how to install the canopy and it was suggested to push the bars up into the center, attach the canopy and then push the bars back down. Well not all the bars would push all the way back. So I drilled new holes for the screws. Worked out well and better then cutting off the end of the bars in case the next one I get fits looser.
Great fi
Hot here way faster that it was suppose too witch was a great plus for me, fit great, a little tight but that’s how it was suppose to be, got my gazebo finish and do far held great tru a few storms.
We bought this as a replacement for our Target Madaga canopy. As you can see from the photo I included the canopy does fit perfectly. This review is mainly on the installation part. My first advice is to watch the video on how to install it. I watched the one posted by the company on Amazon. This video really helped as to which one to remove first and which part to install first. As well troubleshooting. This will save you time trying to figure out where to start and what next.
I’m not sure yet of the durability. I will update this review when something changes.
This is an excellent replacement canopy, the material is a high quality canvas. The color is a little warmer than the picture, and it fits perfectly. My husband and I were able to set it up in no time at all, with only the use of a ladder. It has been out in the unexpected stormy weather these last few months(“it never rains in California” ) and it still looks new and provides a nice secure covering. We are very pleased with our purchase. Thank you .
fit perfectly on my 10×10 gazebo. Although there are holes close to the edges for water to go through when it rains, the water does still pool up along the side so I have to use a broom handle to push it up to get the water off. And maybe its the wind and Georgia rain but everything still gets wet underneath. Overall the fabric quality seems good and durable
Really disappointed. The canopy is too small by about 5 inches and I couldn’t get two corners into their pockets. I tried for over an hour, pulling and tugging and readjusting. It is simply too small. All of the seams are so tight–even though it isn’t even stretched all the way since it is too small–that you can see light coming through the seam stitches. That doesn’t bode well for durability. I can’t pull two of the corners over their poles, and I ordered this too long ago to be able to return it. So I will put in a couple of grommets and tie down those corners. I have re-ordered this same canopy every 2-3 years and they seem to be getting smaller and less durable every time. I don’t expect these things to last through multiple stormy winters and scorching summers. I was fine with ordering a fresh one every few years. But the quality and care in its construction is going downhill fast. Making me wonder if a custom made canopy would be worth it after what a disaster this one is. If I could return it, I would. I am extremely disappointed.
After reading some reviews I was worried this might not fit but it was a perfect fit for our older Madaga gazebo from Target. We didn’t even need to loosen the one side post like the video suggested–it went on without too much trouble. My husband and I were able to get the old one off and the new on in about half an hour or so. I like the lighter canvas color. Our old one was darker brown and I think the lighter one will absorb less heat and stay slightly cooler in the Georgia sun. it seems durable and similar quality to the original one so I’m hoping it will hold up–can’t really speak for the durability just yet.
