High quality, powerful, quiet pump that comes with a nice carrying case to keep the whole kit together. I used this to pump 9 quarts of DEXRON ULV transmission fluid into my SUV’s fill port, which I was previously using a manual hand pump to do. Besides being around 5 times quicker, this has also saved my shoulders and neck from laying on my back beneath the car to actuate a manual pump.
Operating it is really easy. There is only one switch to turn it on and the input and output hoses are different sizes, so you can’t accidentally mix them up or get confused on which end you’re holding. Throughout the transmission fluid exchange, even despite the fact that I was running it off of a trickle charger instead of the car battery, it never struggled or overheated. Just make sure you shut it off in-between changing bottles so the pump isn’t running dry for too long and you’ll have no issues.
It is currently $85 at the time of review, which I consider a fair price given the performance, quality, and that it was one of the few 12v pumps on Amazon to come as a completely self contained kit.
Makes changing the oil very easy!
I have always done the oil changes for all of my vehicles but since I’m getting getting older now, it’s more difficult to crawl under the vehicle to pull the drain plug. This pump makes it very easy. The hose fits perfectly down the dipstick tube even on my motorcycle & the RV generator. The pump drains the oil quickly and I don’t have to worry about the oil dripping onto the concrete now. The pump is very well made & it comes in a nice hard-shell protective case. It’s very easy to use. Just put the inlet tube down the dipstick tube & the outlet tube into an empty container. The pump is powered by the vehicle battery. I clipped the insulated clamps to the battery terminals of the vehicle for power & then turn the unit on via the inline power switch & then let the pump do the work. The engine oil does need to be warmed prior to installing the pump. I really like that two sets of hose plugs are included with this kit so I can just plug the hoses when I’m done to prevent oil drips. The pump can be used for transmission & hydraulic fluid which makes it really versatile. This pump is more expensive than a lot of other kits but most of the cheaper kits do not come in the hard-shell case that keeps the whole kit together & prevents damage. Also, this product has a lifetime warranty & Facfuel has great customer service. I contacted them with a question regarding the pump & they answered promptly giving me precise guidance. They were so very helpful & even registered the product for me for the lifetime warranty! Overall, I really like this pump a lot & would recommend it to others.
Excellent oil (or fluid) extractor.
This comes well packaged and has its own hardshell case, which is a nice feature. The case is made of a hard plastic and has pre cut foam inserts for the motor and wiring.
The motor is relatively small but powerful. I measured 102w of draw (13.8v @ 7.4a) when the motor was running and drawing oil out of my vehicle. The noise level is also very low. It has a quiet humm (see video for sound) and is not irritating to the ears.
The motor itself is made of metal and has a hefty construction. It has an inlet port and an outlet port that already has quick couplers installed. They’re to be used for the hoses that come with the kit. The first hose (inlet hose) is a hard plastic hose and the outlet hose is a softer pvc like material that goes to your waste-oil bucket. The motor has an on off switch as well as decently quality alligator clamps to hook it up to any standard 12v automotive battery.
Setting up and installation is very simple. Connect the hose to the motor and insert the inlet hose down into your oil dip stick (or where ever you want to suck out the oil/fluid). Place the outlet hose into a a used oil waste container. Turn it on and let it run. It will take a few seconds for the oil to be pulled up. I was able to draw out 5qts in aprox 1 minute. It shouldn’t affect your battery too much since you won’t be running this for a long time so the battery life of your battery isn’t as important.
It functions really well at drawing oil. This is also very useful if you have to change your oil in your small engine tools like your lawn mower or gas power washer. You can stick the hose in the oil cap and drain out the oil without needing to tilt your lawn mower or small engine.
Overall this is an excellent product. It makes life easier and serves as an excellent oil transfer pump.
