While a Hasselblad photographer would scoff at this, it’s absoutely serviceable for the beginner or photog on a budget. Hey, everyone starts somewhere.
While its not a super duty, pro grade unit built to withstand the rigors of everyday commercial photography, it’s also not a flimsy stand that will wobble under the weight of professional-grade muslin or heavy vinyl. This kit features a sturdy build quality with thickened aluminum poles and steel bases provide to a stable foundation.
I would not fill the included ballast bags with water as suggested. I think I’d go with sand, unless I was at an outdoor event. And even then, sand may be the better and safer choice. Whether you are working in a controlled studio environment or a high-traffic wedding venue, you can trust that your setup will remain upright and secure if you utilize some type of ballast.

Sturdy, Easy to set up
This is a sturdy, versatile backdrop stand. It comes in a well designed canvas bag that has pockets for the heavy base plates. I am not strong enough to carry it all in the bag, but it is nice to have a place to keep all the parts. It was a little tricky fastening the base plates to the poles because there is a screw that has to be threaded through the plate up into the poles. It would make more sense if something was attached to the pole that threaded into the plate. The support poles themselves are well designed. They sections are spring loaded. The clamps are all easy to open and close. The rod at the top is made up of sections that allow you to customize the size by adding or removing sections. I was able to put the support poles in place, attach the rod at a lower height and then extend it up over my head. It was easier to adjust than most tripods or even my music stand. The sturdy clips fit perfectly around the rod at the top. I quickly attached a curtain to it and created a backdrop that also gives me extra storage for my son’s drums. There are two additional weights designed to be filled with water. The metal plates also have holes that could be used to secure them outside with tent stakes. Indoors I don’t think it is necessary to add the additional weight. For us, this will serve as a photo or video backdrop, a quilt design wall and bonus drum storage. For others, there are so many possibilities!
Nice and heavy duty
It’s a great backdrop because it is heavy duty as describes its compact enough to be out of the way, yet still holds your backdrop well. It’s easy to set up and take apart for storage. You need at least two people to put this together safely, but I’m sure there are people who can put it together solo. It’s a great stand set and will last for years.
If you are looking for a stable backdrop stand that won’t easily be tipped over, this is a great setup! It is a full 10 feet by 10 feet in size and can be adjusted to any height and has five segments for the top bar. It can be used with as little as two of the five segments, or all of them can be used at once, It comes with six fabric backdrop clips for securing the backdrop cloth.
Note that this stand does NOT come with a backrdop fabric cloth, so the one in the pictures is for illustration purposes only.
The bases are heavy and the included water-fillable base stabilizing bags add additional stability. So the carriage of this stand is not light weight, but the stability is well worth the extra pounds!
The box was pretty beat up but Amazon shipped it in an additional box that kept it from damage beyond what the box showed. The contents were fine, however.

Sturdy pipe frame
This review is for the “EMART Backdrop Stand Heavy Duty 1010ft Adjustable Pipe and Drape Photo Booth Kit with Clamps, Water Bags, Anti-Slip Pads, Carry Bag for Photography, Wedding, Party Decorations.”
This particular model sports round base support that folds up for transport. It may appear at first that would cause tipping but no. The side poles have built-in springs to keep the telescoping extensions from disappearing into themselves. These poles screw into the base and are quite sturdy. I like the crossbar sections. They allow me a choice of three lengths total up to 10 feet.
The finish is baked on well and doesn’t come off. There are budget clamps included for clipping on a drape that doesn’t have a stitched loop. Some of my green screen material is just like a sheet so these come in handy to fasten the sheet to the crossbar.
The whole kit assembles fast and disassembles right back into the carrying soft case. Be prepared to use some strength as it’s pretty heavy.
I have no caveats. It stays put with no tipping and price is good for what I received. Worthy of recommendation imho.
