Double-D Metal Detector
A great set for people who want to get into treasure hunting or just for those who need to find property markers. This is a pretty complete set including a backpack travel case, and both the shovel and wand can also hang on your belt. It also comes with some wired earbuds, so you don’t disturb others nearby. It comes with two 9v alkaline batteries; one for the wand and one for the detector. Only alkaline or rechargeable batteries are recommended. There is a battery life indicator on the screen so you won’t be surprised w/o a battery if you pay attention. The manual suggests about 15 to 20 hours working time before the battery is spent. Setup is pretty easy but like another reviewer pointed out the lower bar does not bind tightly into the middle bar when latched. I think it holds well enough as it won’t fall out, but it is possible to knock it out of position on uneven ground.
Just playing around it had no issues locating an aluminum can 8 inches deep in sandy soil or the location of the survey markers under ground. The instruction manual is clear and easy to read. If you haven’t used a detector before it is a good idea to read the manual fully and practice a bit at home. Whether you are looking for a great gift or want to start out on a new hobby this is a quality item.
The DD 90 dual decoy metal detector is a very nice metal detector. I am completely new to the world of metal detecting and thought that I would get started using this metal detector. I am not an expert yet, but hope to be in the near future. This metal detector was super easy to assemble. It is made of high-quality materials. It works very well. The metal detector is easy to use. I assembled it in a matter of minutes, using the enclosed instructions that are in the instruction manual. The instruction manual goes into great detail of how to use the metal detector properly and how to eliminate other types of metals that you are not looking for while using it. I did a test run in our backyard and as far as I’m concerned, it was able to detect the gold in an earring of my wife’s and also detect a copper penny, and a nickel that I would wave in front of the detector. It comes complete with a backpack to carry the detector in. It comes with a hand wand so that you can pinpoint even closer once you have detected a target item or material. Each detector, including the main metal detector and the handheld device both run on a 9 V battery the set also includes a pic shovel assembly, and a carrying case for it so that you can get right to work when you do find something in the Earth. This metal detector will provide hours and hours of fun and exercise while we are out detecting metals and just enjoying the scenery. This set is a good value for the money. It also comes with a set of wired earphones so that you do not disturb others with the detecting sounds.
I’ve had a few metal detectors in the past and this one is slightly better than the others I have used. There is a lot to like about it. One of my favorite features is the ability to pack it down to a backpack and take on a hike. This detector has a pretty heavy coil and is not as light as I expected. Assembly is very easy taking only a few minutes. One thing to note is that the lower section did not lock very tightly. Even with the locking lever locked I can easily move the lover section. This is a minor problem as the cable for the coil wrapped around the shaft will keep it in position. The upper shaft section locks very securely. The included manual is very good with plenty of details on how to setup and use this detector. There is a learning curve with all detectors but once I got it dialed in the way I liked I was finding relics in my yard on day one. The included pointer is ok and works ok. It’s not the star of the show. The included shovel is for very light digging and I bent mine first day. It’s nice to see they have included the required 9v batteries too. I have to say this metal detector would make an awesome gift for anyone that wants to try metal detecting. It’s a nice complete package with out of the box usability. I would only recommend that you upgrade the shovel.
This metal detector kit is perfect for beginners. Comes with everything you need to get started! It was very easy to assemble and the included introduction book will guide you through using it. So far it has worked well at finding things and seems to be quite sensitive. The wand is quite handy, ever drop a bolt in grass or gravel when working on something? That wand is handy to find it!
Considering the acessories, quality, and functionally of this kit I think it is a great value!

This is a solid entry-level metal detector setup overall and offers a surprisingly complete package for around $200. The included accessories alone make it feel like a good starter kit since you get the detector, pinpointer, headphones, shovel, backpack, and batteries all in one box instead of immediately needing another shopping list just to start using it. Setup was straightforward, and the detector itself feels reasonably well built without being overly heavy or complicated. The DD coil design works well, and detection performance has honestly been better than expected for an entry-level unit. Sensitivity seems good for coins, jewelry, and smaller targets, and the detector handles different ground conditions fairly well once adjusted properly. The LCD screen is easy to read, and the backlight is useful for lower light conditions or early morning/evening use. The adjustable shaft also makes it comfortable for different users and easy to transport. Waterproof capability is another nice feature, especially for beach or shallow water use where cheaper detectors sometimes struggle. It is also just a lot of fun to use overall. There is something oddly addictive about wandering around listening for signals while convincing yourself the next beep might finally be the one that changes your financial future forever instead of revealing yet another rusty bottle cap from 1987. I am still hoping to strike it rich one day. Realistically, this is not a professional multi-thousand-dollar treasure hunting setup being used to rediscover lost pirate fleets or buried Civil War payroll shipments, but for beginners, hobbyists, families, or casual users wanting to get into metal detecting without spending a fortune, it performs very well. Overall, this is a capable, easy to use, well equipped entry-level detector with good sensitivity, useful included accessories, and solid value for the price.
