Cool
I’ve used this for HTV and small heat-transfer projects, and it’s a good middle ground between an iron and a full clamshell press. The 12×10 plate covers most adult shirt designs without forcing you to overlap presses too often, and the heat-up time is quick. Temperature control feels consistent, which matters when you’re trying to avoid under-pressing vinyl or scorching a shirt. I still recommend using a firm surface and a pressing mat; on a soft ironing board, results were noticeably less even. The handle is comfortable and the weight helps, but you do need to apply steady pressure and follow timing carefully, especially on thicker garments like hoodies. It’s not ideal for high-volume work because you’re still manually pressing and repositioning, and the cost makes more sense if you craft regularly. Overall, it’s a strong everyday tool for hobbyists and small-batch makers who want reliable heat transfers without buying a bulky professional press.
Compact Heat Press With Plenty Of Space And Easy To Use. The biggest brand name out there.
I’ve been using the Cricut EasyPress SE for a mix of home projects and small resale items, and it’s been working great so far. The size is compact enough that it doesn’t take over your workspace, but the 12 x 10 iron area feels surprisingly large once you start pressing shirts and hoodies. It gives you enough coverage to handle most designs without constantly repositioning. Setup was simple and the controls are easy to figure out. Heat up time feels quick and the temperature stays consistent during use, which a lot of other reviewers mentioned and I’d agree with. The pressure feels even across the plate and I’ve had good results with HTV on shirts, sweatshirts, and even a couple pillow covers. It’s definitely beginner friendly but still feels capable enough for someone doing small batch work.
Build quality feels solid for the price point. Not overly heavy, but sturdy enough that it doesn’t feel like a toy. I like that it’s lightweight compared to a full clamshell press since I can move it around when needed. For home use it’s perfect, and I could also see this working well for light commercial stuff like an eBay or Etsy side hustle where you’re making smaller runs. Price seems really fair considering the quality and the Cricut name behind it. If you want something easy to use that still gives consistent results without jumping to a big industrial press, this one hits a nice balance.
I love my Crucit. It is so much fun adding embellishments to shirts etc.etc. I always kind of wanted an EZ Press Heat machine. However, until now, I thought that my iron, a very good one, was sufficient to use to iron on projects….. WRONG again! This machine has a night and day difference!
This EZPress is a high quality machine that has:
Better temperature and timing control, plus even pressing. There is less guesswork on settings. Both heat and timing are so important. They are on an easy to read display that is very user friendly.
Still I wondered what settings to use. I Googled “Cricut Easy Press heat guide” and then clicked on the link. There are numerous settings listed. So easy to follow!
Always place the machine back on the plastic base (included) after you finish pressing.
As far as what size of machine to order: I decided that I will most likely only have one heat press machine. Therefore I ordered the large one. This was because of the theory that you can do a small project on a large machine but not easy a large project on a small machine.
This machine does not come with a press mat. Yes, you can use a folded towel but for the reasonable price of a press mat on Amazon,,,why??? Don’t use an ironing board. Many ironing board pads aren’t sufficient, there may be holes in the board thus uneven heat and you need to press the unit firmly, in some instances. I just put a cutting board on my sewing table.
The instruction book included, I’m sorry to say, is almost directed to someone who doesn’t need an instruction book. It is tiny with tiny print. But, though it would be nice to have detailed instructions, the most helpful part is under “help” and refers you to the Cricut site. Or there are others on the internet who are very helpful.
All I can say is: Don’t do what I did and procrastinate and wait…. It is such a helpful machine and well worth it. No one wants a project with an iron that is ruined.
