Great Outdoor Storage Box with Lock Feature
The assembly of this storage box was easier than I expected. However, it did take more force to snap the pieces together than I anticipated, which made me a bit nervous that they might break during assembly.

I have another outdoor storage box similar to this one, but the biggest difference is that this model has a sliding latch on the top. This is a fantastic feature, as my previous box had its lid blow off in a windstorm since it had no latch. The top also includes a spot for a security lock if you want to add extra protection for the items inside

    good
Easy to assemble, but the edge of the lateral piece is opened a bit despite my best effort to hammer it down, and its right where the door is, so when i try to open the door, it gets stuck…it could have said in the instructions to assemble the doors in opposite directions too. but its a good compost bin so far.

Very easy to assemble if you DON'T follow directions in the manual.
The assembled compost bin is very sturdy and looks great.
The sliding lids were too tight at first but with a little grease they work well.
If you add the proper mix of items into it, there should be no real bad smells.

This tumbler is identical to others found on Amazon and it was on sale for a better price when I bought it.
Video instructions? The QR code in the owner’s manual only lead to this product’s Amazon page where there were no assembly videos available at the time.
However, there are many videos on YouTube for this under different names and they are the same.
But the one to watch is titled “FCMP Composter Assembly Instructions”.
It shows assembly on the stand.
I was able to easily put this together myself without any extra hands.
Do not assemble it as shown in the Owner’s Manual!
Everything is backward and makes it difficult.
Start by assembling the stand first, then placing the sides and center piece onto the stand as shown in my picture.
Then, attach panel after panel leaving the panel with the sliding doors for last.
Match the arrows on the center divider with the ones on each panel.
There WILL be a space there and this is normal!
Do not skip any of the fasteners!
There are photos on other similar products that show the panels eventually separating because they didn’t put the screws in every hole!
This product is not meant to be in the sun all day.
Depending on the climate or time of year, morning sun is best and shade or partial shade the rest of the day is best.
Black plastic absorbs a lot of heat.
In hot climates, interior temps can exceed optimal microbial range and actually slow decomposition by killing beneficial microbes.

    Placement:
    – Bright area with partial sun
    – Morning sun, afternoon shade
    – Not sitting directly on scorching concrete
    – Protected from extreme afternoon heat

    If you live in:
    – Cool climate: More sun is beneficial.
    – Hot climate (especially southern US, Australia, etc.): Partial shade is better.

Full, constant, intense sun isn’t necessary and may reduce the bin’s lifespan.
Compost heat mainly comes from microbial activity, not solar gain.

Perfect size for my small front porch to keep my many amazon deliveries clean and dry!
Surprisingly enough, despite very heavy foot traffic around my home, we haven’t had any packages stolen from our front porch (currently knocking on wood).

Instead, our porch tends to get VERY dusty and leafy and the way our scarce storms roll in, the rain comes right up in there. So, with this little bin and a short note in my Amazon delivery instructions, my packages now stay clean, dry, and even less likely to be stolen! Nice!

I like the way this bin looks too. It was dead simple to put together – just a bunch of panels with built in connectors you push together. Took five minutes – couldn’t be easier!

All in all, a fantastic little bin for a million different uses. In fact, I bought one for the backyard too. That one keeps a bag of charcoal and wood chunks and fire starters out of sight and out of the garage.

    Easily and highly recommended!!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersSnap together is not snapping together.
I am trying to get the composter together, but I would not buy one again where you have to snap together the plastic. It’s not going together and I am using a rubber mallet. If you can’t get it to snap together then the door opening won’t work right. Too difficult. I wish I bought one where there are screws. I can’t get it apart to send it back! Very frustratingI might call Amazon customer service. Update: got it put together. It’s good so far.

Outdoor storage box with lockable mechanism
I ordered this lockable storage box/bin to sit next to our much larger outdoor bins that store furniture cushions and grilling tools and such. I figured it would work as a trash bin when we eat outside or entertain, and a small storage bin otherwise.

As a trash bin for two people, it’s LARGE! But as a trash bin for grilling and entertaining 4 other people, it’s perfect. It’s too wide for a standard 13-gallon trash bag but a 30-gallon works. My thought was that a lockable unit would be safe enough to leave cups and cans overnight and deal with it in the morning, if, let’s say, our festivities included imbibing and perhaps lasted well into the night. We have clever possums, raccoons, skunks, and smaller rodents, and so far the lock seems to have defeated them all. We do try to keep food trash out of it.

As a storage bin, it’s fine. It can house the smaller pool things and necessities. Don’t expect to fit your pool floats in it unless they are the kind where you remove the air from them. If we still lived in our apartment I could see storing my gardening stuff, including soil, on the balcony inside of this.

Assembly was easy and quick and requires no tools. I don’t think it’s sturdy enough to sit on if you aren’t a child. I also wouldn’t test overstuffing it as I’m afraid the sides might blow out. The color is a gray-brown. A good value for what it is.
