My Everyday Tumbler Thoughtful Design and Truly Leakproof
This has become my everyday tumbler, and I absolutely love it. My favourite feature is the soft flip-down silicone straw. My little one is always trying to sneak drinks from my cup, so I love that I don’t have to worry about her bumping her teeth or gums on a hard plastic straw.

Another feature I really appreciate is that the straw flips down flat into the lid. It helps prevent spills, keeps the straw clean when I’m not using it, and makes it much easier to toss in the vehicle or carry around without worrying about leaks.

I also like that the inside straw is stainless steel. It feels sturdy, well made, and gives the tumbler a more premium feel.

The shape fits perfectly in my vehicle’s cup holders, which isn’t always the case with larger tumblers. While I’m not usually someone who gravitates toward purple, I actually really like the Lilac Dusk colour.

It’s definitely a bit of a splurge, but because I use it every single day, it’s been well worth the money. I’d absolutely buy another one.

Its leakproofseriously!
My husband absolutely loves this cup. It has become his go to tumbler every day. He was honestly shocked that it doesn’t leak! We’ve tipped it over and tossed it in the car, and it has stayed completely leakproof. It also keeps his water ice cold for hours, even on long days, so he doesn’t have to keep refilling it with ice. The handle makes it easy to carry, the flip straw is convenient, and it fits nicely in the cup holder. The quality feels premium, and it definitely lives up to the hype. If you’re looking for a tumbler that actually keeps drinks cold for a long time and doesn’t leak, this one is worth every penny.

Years of BruMate loyalty: the Era Flip is now my favorite daily driver.
I originally bought BruMate products back when the only choices were can-insulators. Since then, BruMate has been producing different products of insulators and cups, moving into capped-insulators and jugs, then eventually these covered tumblers with straws. That said, the Era Flip is now my most cherished purchase from this company just in front of the Hopsulator Juggernaut for my Arizona bigcan teas

The original Era:

The original Era was perfect for me: a 40oz insulated cup with an integrated silicone-tipped metal straw and “leakproof” design. However, I discovered handling the tumbler in any way other than you would a hotcup would sometimes twist the little nub on the cap. This then rotates the straw hole a bit which ruins the leakproof design and allows liquid to exit the straw tip causing leaks if in any position other than upright. This happened quite often when I’d pack it in a bag sideways or it fell over, I’d find a puddle everywhere the bag sat. My other issue was the exposed silicone straw tip: it attracts dust and dirt in the air like a magnet, especially at my workplace. They do sell a magnetic tip cap, but that’s a bit of a slap for what should’ve been included or thought about prior. Cleaning the Era was also tedious as the silicone gaskets were quite difficult to pull apart without damaging the plastics. Since the cup top rotates about multiple parts, any damage to the internal plastic ring during disassembly becomes extremely noticeable during operation. Ask me how I know. The cup also generates mold quite quickly depending on the drink of choice inside so a complete teardown for cleaning is a must, and a curse.

The Era Flip:

Enter the Era Flip. This will be my third Era as my first got dented pretty badly while my second has the above-listed issues I’m looking to resolve. The high upfront cost of yet another BruMate seems to have paid off this time though. The Flip addresses and perfects the semi-leakproof design of the original flaw perfectly: the flip-top magnetic-retained lid secures and hides the straw from the dirt and dust that’s plagued my original daily tumbler. The slide does tend to stick while new, but repeated usage has allowed it to slide open easier while still remaining secure and solid. The teardown of the cup does involve more steps, but that ends up being a good thing. It breaks down completely to the bare plastic components for a good deep cleaning whenever needed without risking any damage to the plastics or the silicone pieces. The silicone straw-tip even detaches on-the-fly for quick clean without having to perform a full disassembly of the lid. The internal metal straw seems to be upgraded with added durability to the locking ring as well as an easy-to-remove silicone gasket in the above locking space. The lid also allows for left and right handed usage based on whichever 180-degree starting point you start closing the lid at.

Overall, I’m quite happy about the improvements and redesigns BruMate has made, my favorite tumbler has become even more handy than I could’ve imagined.

A minor gripe:

Unfortunately, original Era owners will not be able to simply swap or purchase the Flip lid, which boils down to a design flaw in hindsight. The Era has new grooving on the cup and lid that allows left and right handed orientation as well as a dictated position for the lid to face when fully secured. The original Era was designed around a circular center where it made no difference what the final twisted position would be, while the Era Flip relies on bi-directional usage and needs the rectangular-slide lock shape put into consideration. Very unfortunate, but understandable considering the design choices that had to be redeveloped and standardized for the Flip to work.

tl;dr, the Flip improves on the biggest flaws and grievances I had with the original Era and should hold up just as nicely as well as be far easier to maintain and clean. Drinks still stay ice cold, still feels solid, and the colors are still bold and clean (yes my cup is black, but it’s a very clean and quality black). Looking forward to what BruMate works on next!

Absolutely love this cup! Love the color, love the straw. Great and easy to clean. Keeps drinks cold even when being left in the hot car. Seals great when down but not completely leak proof if opened. Fits in car cupholder and hand is so sturdy. Only issue I have is that it gets scratches super easy.

I couldn’t be happier with this purchase. The quality is outstanding, and it keeps my drinks cold for hours. The leakproof lid really works, so I can throw it in my bag without worrying about spills. I also love the covered straw because it stays clean, and the handle makes it very comfortable to carry. It fits perfectly in my car’s cup holder, and the Lilac Dusk color is beautiful. If you’re looking for a durable, stylish, and functional tumbler, I highly recommend this one. Definitely worth every penny!
