Great for DIY glass removal.
I am always buying parts cars or project cars and hate having to spend money to have a glass company remove a windshield.
Pros: Very complete solution for DIY glass removal. Includes a sturdy base, the cutting string, and old school angle glass cutting tool and also a push through cutter to fish the string back. The suction cup works way better than I expected and after getting used to using this, it does a great job.
Cons: It has a learning curve. Watch videos online on how to use this. It isn’t difficult, just takes some time to get familiar with how to use it.
Overall: This is a great value for the money to remove urethaned in glass. This will not work with Bolted and urethaned glass or if it has thick locating studs.
Windshield removal made a lot easier (and safer).
Everything considered, I like this windshield removal tool kit. It has all the basics that you need to make the job a little easier and cleaner than trying to do it without one.
In the past I’ve replaced windshields without this type of string-cutting tool, and I can assure you it isn’t the easiest thing to do – trying to separate the glass from the urethane glue. But the string should help make that task much easier and safer.
On the unit I received it was probably jostled a lot in shipment and is missing a nut for one of the small pulleys. It’s not a huge deal but it does mean a trip to the parts bin (or store) to get it going. I think it probably should have been enclosed in a plastic bag entirely, so in the same event it doesn’t get lost.
Construction of the unit seems good and looks like it should do the job. The suction of the tool is good and appears to hold well against even dry glass and I’m sure that cleaning the glass and keeping it moist will do an even better job, as with most suction cups. I also found the pressure release to work well.
A container would be nice, particularly as the tool is a bit large and shaped oddly. It would have been a nice addition, especially one that would hold all the little hand tools and spool.
In all, it seems a decent option. Take your time and be careful.

I recently got this auto windshield removal tool kit, and it’s made removing glass so much easier. The quality is solid — the tools feel sturdy and well-made, especially the cutting wire and T-shaped threading tool. Nothing feels flimsy, and everything holds up under pressure without bending or breaking.

Professional-Grade Windshield Removal Ki
This is a very well made, professional-feeling windshield removal tool kit. It’s essentially identical to another kit I’ve used that costs more than three times as much, both in construction and overall function. Everything feels solid and purpose-built, not like a cheap imitation or disposable tool.
One nice bonus with this kit is that it includes its own ratcheting handle, which is a great addition. I’ve removed windshields before using wire-style tools, and that method is absolutely the way to go compared to prying or cutting from the outside. Having a dedicated ratcheting handle should make the process much easier and more controlled.
I don’t currently have a windshield that needs to come out, but I do have a hatch glass and two rear quarter panel windows that need to be removed, and I expect this kit to work perfectly for those jobs. I also custom fit the entire kit into a hard case that was originally made for a NOCO Boost GB150, and it fits perfectly, which makes storage and transport much cleaner. Overall, this is a high-quality kit that offers excellent value compared to higher-priced alternatives.
