WiFi PID Upgrade That Actually Improves Temperature Control on Pit Boss Grills
Installed this on a Pit Boss Lexington and it’s made a noticeable difference in temperature consistency. The original controller on that unit does the job, but there’s enough temperature swing during long cooks to be frustrating if you’re trying to nail a brisket or hold a precise smoke temperature. The PID upgrade tightens that up considerably.
The WiFi connectivity works reliably once it’s set up. Pairing through the app took a few minutes but was straightforward. Being able to monitor cook temps remotely from inside the house is something I didn’t realize I’d use as much as I do. Set it and check it from the couch without having to walk outside every twenty minutes.
The trapezoid control kit includes everything you need for the swap. Physical installation is a simple plug-in replacement. No splicing wires or modifying the grill. Takes about fifteen minutes if you’ve done any basic grill maintenance before.
Temperature readings on the app match what my third-party probe shows, which is a good sign the sensor calibration is accurate. Hold temperature during a six-hour pork shoulder cook stayed within about 5 degrees of the setpoint, which is significantly better than the stock controller.
Worth the upgrade if you’re doing longer cooks and want better control. The WiFi feature is a bonus that actually adds real value rather than just being a marketing add-on.

Amazing kit! This kit is an was perfect in every way for my Pit Boss! Everything functions great. The WiFi connectivity is good and it connects quickly. The PID controller holds temperatures way more accurately than the stock board ever did. Installation was a stuck and easy, and its compatible with my Lexington series. The extra meat probes-makes long overnight smokes stress-free. I love the personalization and settings it is capable of. I Highly recommend this if you’re looking to give your grill a massive tech upgrade and I think it’s a great value!

Temperature control stayed within 5 F of set point which is much better than the original it replaced. It took about a half hour to install. The 2 food probes are particularly useful for brisket. The quality appears good and I found their app to be easy to use.
Nice controller upgrade
This controller is easy to install and set up. The app is quite good, allowing you to control and monitor the grill from anywhere your Wi-Fi reaches. The PID algorithm is very accurate, controlling the setpoint to +5 and -3 in my testing. There is provision for two food probes (included) and the setpoint and actual temperature are displayed in the app and locally on the screen. You do not need a stand alone meat thermometer anymore with this controller. Also included are an ignitor and grill temperature sensor.

This kit was the perfect upgrade for my Pit Boss. The WiFi PID controller is incredibly precise, holding temps within 1F and definitely saving me money on pellets. Being able to monitor everything from my phone is a huge convenience, and the installation was straightforward. If you want to modernize your older grill with pro-level accuracy and app control, this is the way to go!”
Great for brisket!
This is a very nice upgrade for the pit boss, I love my pellet grill and use it all the time and this makes it so much more enjoyable. I like to slow cook and also smoke a lot of the meats so this really came in handy. Now I can sit inside while monitoring what’s going on. This controller helps make the grill more efficient and easier to use. Installation was not too bad, it took me about 30 mins plus I cleaned everything up as a went. The display is nice it’s easy to adjust and it’s easy to see the temp and wifi status. Overall it’s a great upgrade, it’s a great value, and if you don’t mind doing some simple wiring for the install this is a no brainer for any serious grill master.
