Solid, great quality grill. Well made and good value.
So to start, I will say that I did not get this with its intended purpose in mind. So I can’t comment on how well it fits the grill it is intended for, or compares with the part it replaces.
What I can say is that it measures 500 x 510 mm. The bars are 7mm diameter, with 10.83mm spacing between them(gap size, not center to center). It weighs 4.899 kg.
It is very strong and solid. It clearly has excellent mechanical durability, and stainless steel is known for its corrosion resistance, and is widely used in cookware. On top of this, the bar spacing means that it should be reasonably easy to clean.
For my use, I wanted to have some stainless steel gratings for my kiln I got this simply due to the size meaning I could easily cut several out if I wanted multiples, or have a fair bit of the grating left over that I could use for other purposes.
The bandsaw cut through it pretty easily, which was nice, and it fit the kiln exactly as expected. So far it looks just about perfect for what I want.
I think the value is also excellent. $40 for that much steel, and at that quality of product, feels very reasonable.

High quality grate
This is a great grate to use for a homemade firepit. It’s thick and heavy vs hollow. It’s hard to find a perfectly square grate that is such good quality. It’s coated well so fingers crossed that I’m right and it will hold up for years of summer time use with a hot fire under it. If not I’ll update. I built a 32″ diameter firepit last spring and I couldn’t find a square grate so I had to use a rectangular one that was to narrow in height and hung off on both sides. I regretted it but I didn’t want to rebuild.
