Easy, reliable transfer of VHS to digital! Love it!
So much easier and reliable than the Roxio Easy VHS to DVD 2018 program I had tried and been so frustrated with I just gave up! Just start the VCR, hit the record button on converter to start and then to stop. Easily transfers the VHS tape contents to a USB stick which you can then download. To adjust the start or finish, I used Lossless Cut, a free program available online. For some of the earlier Roxio recordings that wouldn’t play the audio, I used Handbrake, a free program. It’s a little more complicated than VLC which I used earlier, but it corrects more problems than VLC.
Worth the $99 price.
It works very well… so far. It’s only been a couple of days. Easy to use. The included cords aren’t the best quality if you’re more serious about archiving old media like I am. I might upgrade the cords eventually, but this will suffice as is for now. Worth $99 for sure.
Oops. Need a VHS Playe
I was excited to get this as I have 10 or 12 VHS tapes with personal videos on them that I am dreading losing, and thought this was worth a try to see if I could save them myself without having to hire a “service.” Once I unpacked the box and looked at the small unit, all the various cords, and the instructions, I realized I had to plug this unit into a VHS player (or directly into a camcorder or something like that–there seem to be cords for many eventualities) to rescue and digitize the videos. Oops, we ditched our last (broken) VHS player probably 2 decades ago. Alas, this unit alone is worthless to me, but my mistake–I should have analyzed the product description more closely. Since I got the item for “free” on the Vine program, I can’t return it. Hopefully my review will help you avoid the same mistake.
