Bisher bin ich mit der Ace Pro 2 sehr zufrieden. Der Xplorer-Pro-Griff beseitigt zwei minimale Schwchen der Kamera: die Akkulaufzeit bei 8K-Video und die Kompaktheit an sich (gelegentlich waren meine Finger auf den Aufnahmen verewigt). Die Akkus konnte ich fix wechseln und die Ace Pro 2 hat von Haus aus ein riesiges Sichtfeld, dass man sich ums Motiv nicht mehr gro sorgen muss; man schneidet einfach aus was man braucht. Mit dem Griff hat man allerdings ein deutlich besseres Handling der Kamera, weil es nun der Bauart einer herkmmlichen Kompaktkamera nahe kommt, die nicht umsonst alle gleich aussehen. Mit den Knpfen knnen die Aufnahme-Modi schnell gendert werden und es braucht weniger Wischerei auf dem Display. Ich aktualisierte zuerst die Firmware der Ace Pro 2, wie beschrieben, das htte ich mir wohl sparen knnen, denn als sich der Grip mit der Kamera verband, wurde noch ein Update installiert. Ausschlaggebend ist, dass alles tadellos funktioniert. Der Grip passt haargenau zur Ace Pro 2, da wackelt nichts und der Schutz ist wie beim alten Kfig vorhanden. Leider war meine bisherige Grteltasche fr die Kamera nun zu klein und es gibt gerade keinen brauchbaren Artikel im Handel. Zum Glck hatte ich eine Kameratasche von Amazon-Basics herumliegen, die ich nun benutze.

This is a really solid upgrade for filmakers looking to enhance the ace pro 2’s already amazing features. Out the box, if used correctly it proved itself to be a great action camera especially for underwater scenarios. As an actual camera, I was really impressed with the output however the ergonomics were terrible! Yet again, another boss move by insta 360 to introduce this unique grip! (The first was to partner with Leica to integrate optics and colour science in a compact, packagable form thats relatively easy to get your hands on. I also added a filter ring adapter that came with a lens cap to protect the lens and to give me the option of threading on several ranged diopters and ND filters. The build quality and overall weight feel great and of value. The aesthetics match the body of the ace pro 2 quite well and makes for a seamless integration… The shutter and extended grip solves the ergonomic issues almost immediately and puts this as a contender for street photography as its compact, durable body boasts a robust 50MP payload with extended battery life and a secret SD slot for stashing away those emergengy cards if things get out of hand datawise! I would highly recommend picking one of these up if you own the ace pro 2 from insta 360.

I picked up the Insta360 Ace Pro 2 Xplorer Grip Pro Kit to give my camera more of a traditional point-and-shoot feel. When it works, it is a fantastic bit of kit that makes the camera much more ergonomic for street photography, but it isn’t without its flaws.
Connectivity Issues
My biggest gripe is the reliability. The connection doesn’t always seem to sync up correctly between the grip and the camera. There have been several times where I’ve had to unplug the camera and plug it back in just to get the shutter button or dial to respond. It is definitely not fun when you are trying to capture a candid moment and have to troubleshoot your hardware instead.
Price vs. Value
At $99, it feels a bit steep for what it is. Given the occasional software hiccups and the build, I feel it should have been priced closer to $79. You are paying a premium for the integrated battery (2010mAh) and the physical controls, but the execution isn’t quite at a “pro” level yet.
Who is this for?
If you are primarily into photography and want your action cam to feel like a real camera, this is worth checking out—just be prepared for some minor frustrations. However, if you are strictly using the Ace Pro 2 as an action cam for mounting on helmets or bikes, I would say skip this and stick to the standard mounts.

Amazing upgrade from their old grip!
This is a great upgrade from their old Tilta grip. Its works and feels so much getter than just their old glorified cage grip. This grip actually makes it feel like a nice economical point and shoot camera! Its also a great price for something that has a built in battery.

The Xplorer Grip Pro is a solid upgrade for the Insta360 Ace Pro, especially if you actually use your camera handheld. I really like the cleaner, less industrial look compared to other cages—it feels more refined and intentional. The hand grip is excellent and comfortable for longer shooting sessions, and the extra battery is a huge plus for extended filming without constantly swapping packs.
The added buttons and dials are another standout feature. They make controlling the camera feel more intuitive and professional, especially when adjusting settings on the fly.
My main complaint is access to the memory card. Having to remove the camera from the cage just to get to the SD card is inconvenient and breaks the workflow, especially when transferring footage quickly.
Overall, it’s a great grip with smart features and solid ergonomics—just held back slightly by the SD card access design.

The grip is excellent quality and really changes what you can do with the camera itself.
When needed it really does feel like a “proper” still camera rather than an action camera. It sits really nicely on my gimbal when filming, and the hot shoe and other mounting options increase its versatility.
It’s easy to fit and use, the in built battery charges the camera too, extending it’s filming time.
In my view the extra functionality you get with it, like the zoom control, makes this accessory great value for money.

This is an awesome grip! Turns the action camera into a mini camera that packs a punch! I honestly didn’t know how I was going to like it, but I love it. Makes the use of everything so much easier and I feel it’s better protected from a fall. The extra battery life makes it worth it on its own. The included strap is a quality piece. The overall build quality is great and worth the money. I shoot with Sony cameras and this is going to be my mini go to set up. Fits in my pocket with ease. The functional of the buttons make go to settings easier to navigate settings and overall a functional grip.
