Very high end, works as advertised
This LED square downlight doesn’t just light up a room, it elevates it. I installed it in my hallway, and now I feel like I’m walking a runway every time I go grab a snack.
The adjustable rotation is a game-changer. Want to spotlight your art? Done. Want to highlight your cat’s favorite nap zone? Also done. The 3 CCT settings (warm, neutral, cool) let me shift the vibe from “cozy cabin” to “surgical precision” depending on whether I’m chopping onions or hosting a dinner party.
Installation was smooth, and the included junction box made wiring feel less like a horror movie. The 97 CRI is no joke, colors pop like they’re in a design magazine. My houseplants even look smug under this light.
If you want lighting that’s smart, stylish, and secretly makes you feel like a lighting designer, this is it. Is it pricey? Perhaps, but I do think the quality is there.
If you want better light quality, go with this 97 CRI 3-CCT model
I’ve now bought two versions of the Hengsense square recessed downlights—this 3-CCT, 97 CRI model and the 5-CCT version that ranges from 2700K–6000K. Both share the same modern square design with a black interior that looks much more stylish than basic round cans, and both install with a similar 189mm x 100mm cutout.
This 3-CCT model has an advantage in color accuracy (97 CRI)—everything under it looks natural and vibrant, especially compared to many LEDs that can make colors look flat. It gives you three selectable color temps (3000K warm, 4000K neutral, 5000K cool), which is plenty for most living spaces. The light is bright, dimmable (works well with my Lutron Caseta dimmer), and the rotation lets you aim the beam.
The trade-off: while the 5-CCT version has more flexibility if you want that very warm 2700K or extra cool 6000K option, this 3-CCT one gives you superior light quality. Installation is easy if you have top access, but you do need to cut carefully.

Stylish and Innovative Light Fixture
I have used many of this company’s products and I am continually impressed with both the style and quality they deliver. This particular fixture is a recessed dual-downlight. They are small LED spot lights and do adjust a little bit, so that you can direct light around to some degree. The housing is aluminum and a very high-quality, the trim ring is a plastic material. The fixture is dimmable using a LED-capable dimmer. I am using the Lutron Caseta series, and have no issues so far. It was fairly easy to install. It replaced a 4″ recessed light. The hole needed to be cut larger and the wiring installed. In my situation, I had access to the top of the light for an easy installation, it might be trickier if you did not have access to the top. For the price, this fixture is a great value. I plan to add several more of these in the very near future.
