Replaced my 10 year old smoke detectors. Had to rewire but very easy to do! Access to my old smoke detectors were about 10 feet. Covers existing hole in the ceiling. So easy to mount. Comes with batteries. Installed all detectors and they work well with my smoke / co2 detector.
perfect hook up. connects and triggers the other alarms in the house. I made the mistake of working on the bedroom after install. I’d say it’s pretty sensitive. it went off from my work dust and wouldn’t stop going off every 10 min. until I took it down and outside blew it out with air. they definitely work. though they are a little spendy.
Works great. Bought to replace an old one. Replacement was easy to do with easy installment. It was a compatible fit to the one it was replacing. It says it has a 10 year battery life on it. It was a good value for the price i paid. When it goes off you will hear it. It is really loud like it should be. Highly recommend.
I purchased 3 Kiddie Smoke detectors and 2 Kiddie CO/Smoke detectors, all hardwired with AA battery backup. Installed all of them rather easily with the exception of having to rewire the plugs as they changed the end piece from my 10 year old Kiddie detectors. But this too was fairly easy as I’m pretty handy, but certainly no electrician. Fits on the same baseplates. They all interconnected perfectly. I tested the included backup batteries prior to install and they were all fully charged. Pushed the test button on one unit and they all briefly alarmed, then shut off by themselves. It’s now been 4 month since I installed them and I’ve not had any false alarms or low battery alarms. These units seem very well made. Please remember to shut off the breaker prior to wiring them up, and to write the install date on the included sticker as the 10-year lifespan starts with the date you power them up, not the manufacture date.
We bought seven of these, seven months ago. Went to install them and four of the seven are defective. We tried all the troubleshooting, new batteries, and only 3 worked. I’m sure our ability to return them is long past. These are a terrible product. With new batteries they should all be working still seven months post purchase.
Had to replace 12 of these in my house. Could not have been easier. All 12 are linked thru a common circuit. Wiring and mounting were a piece of cake. Best part is the base is a tiny bit larger than the old units, so no touch up painting.
