I used this paint sprayer to stain a 24 x 36 horse barn. My barn is made of T111 on the outside, so there were many grooves to paint. On the inside , there were places where my horses have chewed the wood. Good to know: I also used a roller, and a paintbrush; but this paint sprayer saved me a lot of time.
This is the only paint sprayer I’ve ever used and I don’t have a lot of patience so there was no straining of the stain, or making sure that it was diluted. I used 10 gallons of solid stain. (Benjamin Moore)
I found the sprayer to work just fine. It was lightweight and easy to carry up a pretty high ladder at times. My barn is older, so it really soaked up the stain and I had to go back over the sprayed parts in most locations.
I will say that the coverage was not especially even, (I used the largest nozzle.) and I would not attempt to use this indoors. However, I didn’t follow any of the directions – so that may have made a big difference in my result.
Overall, I am very happy with my purchase. I honestly thought that I would throw it away after this job, but it was so easy to clean (and helpful) that I will use it for future painting and staining.
Triple the work
I bought this thinking I’d save time on a small furniture refinishing job. Instead, I spent my Saturday spraying a mess, then sanding down the orange peel disaster, then brushing a proper finish by hand. The paint was good quality, clean, and properly mixed. The problem is the sprayer doesn’t atomize. I tried every nozzle and every setting and couldn’t get a smooth coat. It’s a defective product. I wasted good paint, extra time, and a full day of work on this junk.
Got this to try and spray some stain/sealer on some fence panels. I had five 4’X8′ wood fence panels to do. Being a novice at this I opted for an inexpensive sprayer rather than paint the stuff on with a brush or roller. What a time saver! This gun was fantastic! I had no problems with the issues or with its performance as it worked great! The biggest thing that you need to remember has to clean it immediately after usage. If you’re gonna use it again in a couple of hours, then you need to clean it. Don’t let anything get dried up on it or it’s not gonna work right for you. It’s as simple as that it was easy to use, and it produced professional results from a novice.
I like to test new items. This was sprayer was great. I intentional bought this one because the pictures on amazon had a cleaning process that you can hook up to a hose. Maybe they all do that, but I am a novice and so I wanted to make sure. Love the spray pattern and finish to the walls. Assembly was easy and minimal. Easy to clean. This product might not work as great as a professional 200-500 dollar sprayer, but for the price, it is wonderful! I think you will be pleased!!!
