Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersExcellent coffee maker for anyone who enjoys fresh-ground coffee
I’ve owned several Cuisinart coffee makers over the years, including two Grind & Brew models (one with a burr grinder and one with a blade grinder), as well as a Keurig K-Duo. I bought this because I missed the rich, full-bodied flavor that freshly ground coffee provides, and this machine absolutely delivers.

Using whole beans, the coffee is smooth, flavorful, and consistently excellent, especially on the Bold setting. The built-in burr grinder is also much quieter than the older Cuisinart burr grinder I owned, which was a pleasant surprise.

I also didn’t expect to use the Over Ice feature very often, but it makes excellent iced coffee and has quickly become one of my favorite features.

The removable burr grinder makes cleaning simple, and I like that Cuisinart even included a small cleaning brush hidden underneath the measuring scoop.

If you’re looking for a single-serve coffee maker that grinds whole beans for every cup, I highly recommend this one.

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersBest purchase of the yea
I LOVE this coffee maker. I was truly just sick of spending $40+ on Nespresso pods every month and wanted something that was an all-in-one grinder and brewer. This makes an excellent cup of coffee.

If you’re coming off of Nespresso, use the Ice setting. It makes a much stronger cup more similar to Nespresso in my opinion. I tried Bold at first and thought it was watery and bitter and almost sent the machine back (which I also attribute to the beans I was using). Switched to Kirkland Colombian beans from Costco in the huge silver bag and they have lasted me over 2 months now, and they’re absolute perfection. From not having to buy Nespresso pods, I’ll have made my investment in this machine back by the end of summer, so it’s probably the best money I’ve spent on an appliance besides my beloved Cuisinart bread maker.

Cleaning it is a breeze. I was worried it would be annoying to have to clean it after using pods for so long, but it takes 10 seconds if that. I also love having the option to save my coffee grounds for my garden! I’ve seen some people use disposable filters to make it even easier, but I haven’t had an issue with the reusable one that comes with it. I haven’t had any problems with leaking, it fits perfectly under my cabinets and moves out easily to refill, and a full tank lasts me about 5-7 uses. Very sleek and nice looking on the counter.

The grinder is excellent. There is the tiniest touch of residue in the bottom of my cup, but it doesn’t bother me honestly. That may be attributed to the filter anyway, and not the fineness of the grind. It’s also not too loud. I can use it without waking up the house (but my kids do sleep with sound machines, so use at your own risk!).

Overall, I can’t recommend this machine enough if you’re looking for a reliable all-in-one coffee maker.

Golden Review Award: 39 From Our UsersTHREE BIG issues
I’ve heard complaints about too much steam. I don’t see this as a problem in any way. Maybe that’s due to where I have mine placed. It’s not under a cabinet. And another complaint is about having to clean the basket after every brew. Prior to buying this coffee machine I was using stainless steel k-cups (with a paper filter) so I was already used to cleaning out my k-cups after each use. I bought paper filters to use with this machine. You don’t put the paper filter in the mesh filter. Anyway, all I have to do is throw out the paper filter. Then I leave the coffee drawer open so it drys or I take it completely out, rinse it and set to dry. Super easy! It’s healthier to use a paper filter with coffee because unfiltered coffee can raise cholesterol levels.

If you do have multiple people in your house waiting to make coffee, it’s not as convenient as k-Cups are. I like how it looks although it’s big. I love the sound of the beeps! The water tank is small and needs to be refilled often, but the way the lid opens, makes it easy to refill without taking it off the machine. I like that.

It does make good tasting hot coffee (mostly because of my personal tweaking) and brewed cacao. Wonderful that it’s a bur grinder!

My issue is, I wish I could adjust the grind. It’s permanently set on a medium grind (although when I asked, Amazon’s answer was that the grind was adjustable) but it’s not and I like a little finer of a bean grind. That’s what gives coffee a stronger taste. The coffee isn’t strong enough for me. Especially if making a larger cup, so I grind my own beans to add more coffee in the basket before I let this coffee maker grind the beans for the particular cup size I chose. So l’m adding more coffee and then I get a good tasting cup to my liking. I like that this has a larger basket to make custom brews (a 4 cup flat bottom fluted paper filter fits this basket so, it will hold a good amount. I’ve even used a 5 cup filter (had to push it down good.) For instance, some times I like to mix some cacao with my coffee so with this larger basket, I’m able to do that. Also, I/we don’t drink very large cups of coffee in my house. So I can make a large cup of coffee and split it with 2 people. Instead of having to wait for the basket to get cleaned out for a second cup. This would be the absolute perfect coffee maker if I could adjust my grind. Especially if you’re brewing a large cup. For me this doesn’t grind enough coffee especially since it’s permanently set on a very coarse grind. Side note: I like to use coffee grounds every once in a while to scrub/exfoliate my hands. Well, with the size of these grinds, you can’t do it and it makes trying painful! It’s like exfoliating with gravel.

Another thing, it’s very upsetting that I can’t put my 8 inch travel mug under the drip. In order to fill a travel mug, I would have to let the coffee drip into something like my 2cup measuring cup or a short pitcher for pouring purposes and then pour it into my travel cup. Awful! I’m actually really tempted to return this. What’s the purpose of having such a big machine that holds beans when I don’t even use the grinder half the time. I’m still grinding my own beans to my liking and I can’t use my travel mug.

Cuisinart, if you make this with an adjustable burr grinder this coffee maker would be the absolute best. I’d be the first to buy it! One other thing, it would be nice if it came with a couple baskets ( the whole removable part, not just the mesh filter for those who use paper filters). This would help multi family users.

EDIT: I want to add that the water tank is super narrow with some areas more narrow than others and this makes it hard to scrub clean. UGH!!!!!!

Golden Review Award: 26 From Our UsersPerfect cup of hot coffee every single time
If you like a hot, delicious cup of coffee, this is the machine for you. Fill the machine with beans and water and press the button for a perfect cup of coffee. It grinds the beans, drops them into its filter hopper and brews the coffee into your cup. The total process takes under three minutes.

We used to brew an entire pot and throw away half of it so we are using less coffee.

I use paper filters instead of the gold metal filter it comes with. That makes it easier to clean between cups. It looks nice on the counter even though its design is a bit old fashioned.

The part that I also appreciate is that it is easy to clean. The entire burr grinder pops out to make it easy to wipe off oily coffee bean residue. The basket that holds the filer comes out very easily to dump between cups.

I suggest purchasing a rolling tray to pull the machine out from under the cabinet. It does generate a bit of steam during brewing and it makes the water receptacle easier to reach.

It if generates an error or refuses to brew, check yourself. It is probably stopping you from brewing the a second time into the filter basket or needs water or beans. Smart machine, just pay attention to it.

This Coffee Maker is worth a second look !
We ordered this Cuisinart coffee makers a couple of weeks ago but were disappointed the controls were defective – failed to resolve a readiness display. We returned it but really liked the overall design / quality and what appeared to be an easy operational concept so we decided to return it and reorder it even though the refund was going to take up to a month for some reason The new coffee machine arrived with a second manufacturers outer protective shipping box (the first was shipped with a less protective display box with minor external damage to the box but no discernible interior damage to the contents). The second delivery with the additional external manufactures protective shipping box was in good shape. The coffee maker is easy to set up and worked properly from the get go. Simple instructions produced a decent cup of coffee and we are now experimenting with different bean brews, strength settings and whole bean vs ground options. The machine appears to be well designed, a nice looking addition to the kitchen, easy to use and clean. We had watched several YouTube videos which favorably reported on the use of this coffee maker. We’ll revisit our review after a few weeks of use but initial verdict is 4 stars with a possible 5 if it continues to perform as initial indications

Brews a great cup of coffee
This coffee maker grinds and brews a wonderful cup of coffee. Temperature wise, the brewed coffee is warmer than my other coffee brewer. I’ve experimented brewing with paper filters as well as with the mesh basket it came with. It performs best with the mesh basket. It creates more coffee and less steam than when using paper filters. I bought 2 different paper filters. The Amazon basket filter for 1-4 cups holds way too much water creating much less coffee in your cup. The Melitta #2 cone filter does okay but doesn’t perform as well as the mesh basket. I am using filtered water in the tank as our local water is pretty hard. I haven’t cleaned the hopper and grinder yet, but the care seems pretty simple. I am pleased with this purchase and hope it provides many mornings of great coffee.
