Worth the money
Worth every penny! Bought these for holloween still out for Christmas. Not the brightest lights but I used them to highlight decorations. Very easy to install and use them. Easy to move. Remote works great. The auto on/off works great. No sunlight no lights. You can lock the lights to a certain color using the button on the desk. Last for the night as long as they are charged.
Great low profile landscape lighting
I’ve been dying to try out these types of solar lights because they’ve been all the rage in the past couple of years. You can imagine how excited I was to have the opportunity to have a set that actually came with a remote AND was also an RGB set instead of a simple single tone puck style landscape solar light.
I have to tell you that these lights do not disappoint. I love how sturdy they are, with a solid lens and strong solar plate that will not only gather as much natural light possible to power these lights after the sun goes down, but that will ensure you will be able to enjoy these landscape accents for years to come.
I installed these lights in an area that is more rock than soil, sod, or dirt, and they set into the ground very easily thanks to the great design of the ground spikes for these lights. With some gentle twists there was no problem getting them all set into the ground pretty solidly. I have no worries of someone wandering by and taking off with them. These lights seem very sturdy for getting them all installed into a horizontal mount without damaging the housing, stakes, or lights. An extra bonus is that they come with sticky pads so that they can also be mounted on a vertical surface with no fuss or hassles. I love that you can separate the housing from the lens to allow for the changing of batteries if needed-some solar lights are essentially throw away lights that you toss once the battery no longer charges. These lights will last for season after season with proper care.
There is a remote included with this package of lights that allows you to control on/off, motion, and colors without having to go out and mess around with each light once it is installed. You do have to remember to make sure you have set each light to the “on” setting for the remote to work. While there are no super fancy settings for the remote, you can choose between “fade” and “jump” for color changes, and have a choice of fifteen different color settings as well. I’m hoping I can leave these out over Halloween(only because of the snow we may or may not get for October in Alberta) for an extra special punch to my Halloween decor this year.
These lights have held up really well in an area that gets tons of moisture(we have had a super wet summer where I live)with no issues with operation, function, or illumination of the lights once the sun goes down. I am looking forward to having these be a part of my landscaping decor for years to come. Excellent value for the money!
Better than expected
I was reluctant to order these solar lights because I thought they may look tacky in my yard and didn’t want my kids or guests tripping on them as the pictures show them affixed into the ground with a slight raise.. However, I was really surprised with quality and feel and you can raise them higher or lower if you don’t want them to be a tripping hazard. The stakes easily pierce into the ground and they are long enough that you can choose how deep into the ground you want them.
You get 4 lights per set and you can adjust the colour and tone of the lights with a variety of colours which the kids love. The best part about these is that you don’t have to go outside to turn them on or off or to adjust the colours- you can do it from inside the comfort of your own home using the convenient remote control which is sensitive and works well. Overall, the lights are well made and feel durable. The light produced is brighter than my other solar lights so I feel the 4 in the set is sufficient for my purposes, however, if you are looking to use them to line the perimeter of your yard or pool or walkway, you will definitely need at least 2 sets. I love the atmosphere that these lights produce and they are big hit with our guests. I would definitely recommend!
Don't get these because they will fail
I really want to love these lights, but I can’t. They are exactly what I am looking for but don’t last long. This is the second time I have purchased them, and I bought the replacement warranty and will use it this time. I thought maybe I had a bad batch the first time. These lasted a little longer but are starting to fail. The lights still work if I cover the solar panel because the light will turn on; however, at night they no longer light up. Idk if rain got into them, but you can see it looks like a water mark inside.
I have had these for a few weeks now and they are bright, have a great battery life, and the size is good for mowing. They function as mentioned as well.
All-Night Lighting
These solar ground lights are well made, and perform well under the right circumstances. They are bright, and maintain enough charge to work overnight. They also seem to be well sealed against the elements and provide multiple mounting and control options to ensure you get the colour that you want. The only criticism I would have it that they aren’t effective as a “spotlight” underneath landscaping like small trees and shrubs. They simply aren’t bright enough to be effective for this task and I would suggest finding an alternative product if this is your goal.
Likes:
– Bright, solar-powered lighting that can be placed anywhere that they can charge themselves.
– Long-lasting, all-night illumination.
– Well-made housing with IP67 rating should stand up to any elements that they will experience.
– Multiple colour options with good, colour saturation and several white hues.
– Multiple control interfaces including and RF remote that has lots of range, or a pushbutton underneath.
– Multiple mounting options includes a stake for on-ground use or adhesive strips for attaching to hard, smooth surfaces.
Dislikes:
– While the remote has excellent range (I was able to control the lights from about 100′ away) I don’t necessarily want all the lights to switch to the same colour. If you use the remote, all lights will synchronize to the same colour.
– If using adhesive tape, you may find it difficult to switch the colour mode via the button which is located on the underside.
Overall, these are very well made solar lights that should provide years of reliable service. They provide interesting yard lighting that is best suited to shining up a fence or wall if you want to have a wash of light, rather than a shrub or a tree. Recommended!
Solar Puck Lights
I’ve tried plenty of cheap solar puck lights over the years and most don’t last a season. These ones are built way better. Solid lens, tough solar plate, and stakes that go into the ground without snapping. Setup was very easy, just twist them into place and they sit secure. The included sticky pads are a nice option too if you want to mount them on a wall or planter. The remote is super handy and works from way further than expected. They’re bright enough to light a walkway or give some nice color around the yard, but not really meant for spotlighting trees. Battery life is good, most nights they stay on until early hours of the morning. Held up fine through heavy rain and wind. They seem durable and good quality overall. I’m happy with them.
