Exceeded my expectations and allows me to make milk anytime I need i
I honestly wasn’t sure what to expect when I ordered this product. I figured it might be something that sounds great, but in reality wouldn’t work so well. I was wrong. Within minutes of opening the product we were making almond milk by using the recipe in the included booklet. When the milk was done, it wasn’t even close to a liquid, it was more like an almond slushie and exactly what I figured would happen.
However, in reviewing the instructions and the recipe again, we realized that the cups and the weights don’t match. So we remade the almond milk by weighing out each of the ingredients and it turned out amazing. We love that you can add additional flavors in that you normally can’t get in pre-made nut milks. We added mango into our second batch and it turned out so well that we’ve gotten really creative with our own recipes. The machine is very fast, simple to use, and easy to clean. It makes enough milk for my wife and I, however for a large family, I’m guessing they’d have to run a few batches through it each time. As far as price, it seems to be on the lower end of the spectrum compared to similar machines. I’d definitely buy this again or buy it as a gift.
I love this little gadget.
I never heard of a nut milk machine until I saw one advertised a year ago and got it. When I saw this one I snatched it up. It is smaller than my other one, (20oz vs 32 oz) which I like a lot. It is the perfect size for single servings of milk or for cooking. It can pulverize blend ingredients to a very smooth consistency.
I am pretty much dedicating this to my pets – 7 cats and 2 dogs who all hate kibble. They get surly when I give them kibble, preferring that good soft stuff that comes in the can. With the right amount of water, this is process kibble and fool them into thinking they are getting canned food. It’s also great for pureeing a can of beef vegetable soup into a broth for a tasty pour-over on their kibble. It’s not as fast as my bigger machine but it doesn’t take forever either. It’s easy to clean, no need to take it apart and wash part separately. The self cleaning function works well. Just be sure not to get the plug area wet. I think the quality is fine for the price and anticipating it continue to function for quite a while. I can’t really speak to the noise level because I have some hearing loss and noise has never bothered me anyways. Noise is one of the few things in life that doesn’t annoy me.
Small for personal use
So far I’ve used this nut milk maker for both almond milk & fruit smoothies, as well as the self clean feature. One of the biggest deciding factors for this machine is its size; it is only 20 fluid ounces, so It’s only good to make a single or double serving depending on your use case. The product is very ease to use, even when I’ve been absolutely miserable before I’ve had my coffee. It only takes about 15 minutes for almond milk, and only 3 to make a smoothie, sans prep. The self clean also only takes 10 minutes, which is a pleasant surprise as someone who has worked with similar appliances taking an hour. I also like how the machine can keep the product warm for several hours.
Overall this a great little nut milk maker with a lot of functions for making small batches.
Great machine for delicious homemade nut milk
This nut milk maker is great and I’ve mostly been using it to make oat milk, which it handles really well. I still need to do some trial and error to figure out the exact portions I like because the recipe guide included with the machine doesn’t really help much. Half a cup of oats seems to be the sweet spot for this size maker. The milk it makes comes out tasty every time and it smells really good once it’s done. We can drink it on its own or use it as creamer for our coffee, which saves us money since we no longer have to buy creamer as often.
It’s easy enough to operate and the instructions are clear. The buttons are straightforward and the machine won’t turn on unless the lid is properly attached, which is a good safety feature. It does take some time to make the milk, usually around sixteen minutes for oat milk, but depending on what you’re making the process can be faster or slower. It makes noise and shakes a bit while running, but that’s expected with how powerful it is and it always gets the job done.
Cleaning it is simple too since the machine has a cleaning function that handles most of the work. I still give it a quick rinse afterwards, but the built-in cleaning mode makes the whole process fast and easy. I’m excited to try more types of nuts once I finish the big bag of oats I already have. Overall this has been a really useful machine and I’m happy I picked it up.
We ordered this nut milk maker because we love almond milk, but not the additives in most brands. Our first order necessitated contact with the seller who was very responsive and helped resolve the situation quickly. In my experience, a satisfactory customer service interaction is not common these days. We were very pleased with the process, the seller’s responsiveness, and the outcome. That alone is worth five stars!
The Czlife nut milk maker comes with a recipe book, an instruction guide, a fine mesh filter, and a cleaning brush alongside the nut milk machine itself. Do yourself a favor and research the ratios of nuts to water and additives before using the machine. We found the recipe book provided ratios that were much different from most other recipes, and did not result in the type of nut milk we were expecting. Here are a few things we like about this nut milk maker and a few tips for improved performance.
– The almond milk setting takes only 13 minutes to process.
– The machine is a bit noisy. As a result, I run batches of three-four runs back to back to minimize disruption and minimize cleanup.
– Don’t be alarmed if it pauses partway through the process and resumes momentarily.
– There are two lines on the inside of the machine: a minimum mark and a maximum mark. Be sure to use filtered water for the best flavor when adding water between these two marks. Filling only to the minimum mark results in a thicker, more textured almond milk with richer flavor.
– Although the recipe calls for 2 cups of almonds, 1/2 cup is more than enough! 2 cups of almonds resulted in four batches which produced a quart and a quarter of nut milk after filtering.
– Rather than chopping the almonds by hand, we ran them through a food processor before adding them to the nut milk maker.
– If you don’t like sweet almond milk, do include one date, but substitute the second date and maple syrup for 1 tsp of vanilla. The pinch of cinnamon adds a fantastic flavor when accompanied by a pinch of salt. Salt will bring out the delicious flavors as long as you stick to a tiny pinch and don’t overdo it.
– We found the end product to be very frothy. We also don’t over filter our nut milk by using a nut milk bag. To me, that just makes it watery. If you like a slightly more textured nut milk, simply use the provided mesh filter.
We had several people try the almond milk we produced, and all except one loved it. For the record, that one person does not like nut milk in the first place. We are absolutely enamored with our new nut milk maker, find it an excellent value for the asking price, and love that it makes lots and lots of healthy almond milk in a short amount of time. Even better, it is super easy to clean. We haven’t even used the included cleaning brush because it’s unnecessary. The stainless steel interior rinses quickly and cleanly.
If you’re really wanting nut milk this is a better value than spending $600 on a vitamix as it does the job. Its basically a small blender with a hot plate. Easy to operate, east to clean as its one piece with a top. The recipe book that comes with it is really good too.
The reason I’m taking a star off is because the strainer doesn’t filter out any nut debris great. You are probably better off using a tea infuser or some other colander. Also not sure how durable it is with repeat use.
Its weird that the top has a lock/unlock icon on it but it doesn’t actually lock. Its just a silicone gasket with a steam vent that keeps the top on. It has a sensor in it though so it wont start unless its on tight so thats nice. All in all good value.
Personally I couldn’t get the almond milk to taste as good as the boxed stuff but I also dont have the odd ingredients like carragean gum or whatever in the house either.
It works, makes nice nut milk, but you'll have to figure out your own proportions
There’s a lot to like about this nut milk maker. I’ve now had it for a few weeks and have tried cashew, almond, and oat milk. Cashew and oat were my favorites. The almond milk was too gritty, even after straining with the enclosed strainer (cheese cloth would be better).
It has a 20 oz capacity (if filled to the max fill line), or 2 cups. So it’s great for making nut milk for 1-2 people, but if you want to make bigger batches or have a larger family, than go for the bigger size.
There are several different modes for hot or cold nut drinks, or you can use it as a smoothie blender. I needed a flashlight to read the modes since they didn’t actually light up. When you switch to a mode, it will then start up a few seconds later.
The recipe guide that comes with it includes proportions that are way too great for this smaller version of their machine, it says “The food ratios in this recipe are for reference only.” It then includes a QR code which points to a nonfunctional website. I inadvertently misplaced the guide, and wasn’t able to find a working website for Czlife, but did get a quick response when posting a question on the Amazon product page (they pointed me to a PDF I could download). But an example recipe for oat milk calls for 3 cups of oats, and then fill with water to the fill line. That’s not at all helpful since I don’t really know what ratio they want here. Today I tried cup of oats and filled to the fill line, and it came out pretty good, though still a bit thick. I read a review that warned against using one of the hot settings for oats, or you’ll get a gloopy gooey drink.
So use the recipe guide for inspiration, and figure out on your own what works for the size machine you bought, and your personal tastes.
I’m still experimenting with proportions. I really like the cashew milk since it’s so smooth and creamy, but I probably used too much cashews for the 2 cups of water I added in. I went with a cup. But hot cashew milk is a new favorite. Next time, I’ll also add some cocoa powder and honey for a frothy thick hot chocolate.
It also has a self-clean setting, which runs the blades at various speeds after you’ve put in soap and water. It will heat the water and clean the blade.
One of my biggest complaints is the misleading lableing of the size of this small machine. The Amazon page has an option between a “1.6 quart” and “Large 50oz” size. The smaller one cannot hold 1.6 quarts of anything. As I said, it’s 20 oz, or slightly more than half a quart. Maybe they meant 0.6 quarts and not 1.6? That would be much closer to what it is. And elsewhere on the page it does say 20oz, which is correct.
So, is there any benefit to getting one of these smaller ones if you already have a high-powered blender? The biggest advantage is you can turn it on and walk out of the kitchen to avoid the pretty high noise levels, knowing it will turn itself off when it gets to the end of the program. Cleanup is easy, it looks nice on our counter. The only other thing it can do that our blender can’t is created a heated drink.
One curious thing… the top of the machine has padlock icons indicating a locked and unlocked position, implying that you could twist it in a direction that would keep the top from coming off. That’s not the case. You can rotate the top 360 degrees without it stopping anywhere. But there is a sensor that requires the top to be on and to have the little arm of the top over the top of the handle or you’ll just get an error code. Relabeling these positions to something other than lock/unlock would be better. Maybe just a red and green dot? Or actually, just a green dot would be all you need.
