This is one of my favorite cast iron loaf bakers. Not only can I use it to make bread, it will also do meatloaf, casseroles, and the beauty is you could make 2 loaf items at once. The lid seals beautifully, or it can be 2 bakers. It is not super heavy. The color is exquisite. Only time will tell if the enameled outside chips. (The problem with some lower cost cast iron vessels. ) The handles are slightly curved for ease of handling. Temp range to 500 and the size is a Perfect Loaf. Sometimes I prefer traditional loaf size bread for sandwiches. This is a beautiful Xmas gift or wedding present because it is so versatile. Recommend always hand washing. Dishwashers can destroy your finish over time and will dull or put a non-removable film on it. Important to protect your investment.

Tip toed into bread making and after several batches decided to get better quality loaf pans. WOW. My bread has been perfect everytime. They hold heat. Preheat before placing dough in it. I always use parchment paper. These are perfect for artisan no knead bread. The only negative is the external paint easily chips but other than that this loaf pan is PERFECT.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersWorks as promised. Perfect baking oven.
I tried them all. Ceramic, Clay, cast iron, but this one tops them all. I finally made a baguette worth eating. Best rise of the dough during the covered half of baking. Maybe having some extra headspace creates the perfect moisture dome? The last half of crust formation and browning worked perfect. Just like in the pictures. No burning, or messy clean up. One word of advice though, order yourself two grippy hot-pot holders, to maneuver this pan in and out of the oven and lift the lid when hot. The fabulous glaze needs that extra grip. Piece of cake to clean the spot here or there with the usual sponge. Definitely a no-stick pan….so far.
