This little tool sharpens in no time. I went thru a drawer of old dull knives and had them sharp and cutting in about 15 minutes. Very easy and quick, doesn’t mark up or damage the knife in anyway. Just slide them through the aligned cutting groove for coarse then fine. 2-3 pulls through each slot and for each side. They look great afterward, slice even better. I did two of my neighbors knife drawers with it. They loved how their knives cut afterward. It traps any grindings in a small box under the sharpening wheels. You can see by the small amount of grindings that the machine is not aggressively grinding the knife edge, just a small 20 degree bevel on both sides for a really sharp edge that lasts longer than most manual sharpeners I’ve used.
This is a great tool. It was very inexpensive. A couple of years ago I decided to save my dull kitchen knives so I bought an actual wet stone. The wet stone worked great but was very very time consuming. I bought this, and it saves a ton of time and gets the knives pretty sharp. Do yourself a solid and quit messing around with dull knives and pick one of these up.
It sharpened my kitchen knives really well with just 1 slow pass on each side. Only thing negative I noticed is lack of power on the motor, you can’t force it, just slow and steady!
