I was originally hesitant to spend this kind of money on a “fan” but now that I have had a chance to use it, I am definitely sold on it!!! Very impressive functions and it’s amazing the volume of air it can move all while being quite quiet. I like the fact that it is compatible with Alexa; I just tell her what to do with it and generally it is done quickly. The remote works well and the App is impressive too. Overall I am happy with my purchase and would not hesitate to do it again if the need was there.
The adjustment only goes up to 5 inches. Don’t feel discouraged by the adjustment, there’s a purpose for it I love the appearance does have a lot of power and blows very cool air don’t even need to turn on the air conditioner, but if you like it cooler just put it in front of the air conditioner will blow cooler air the performance on point the sound of the level is good pretty quiet does have some weight to the fan the mostly I love is smart fan I loved the sensor motion follow you everytime you move I appearance is perfect I love the color I choose.
4 out of 5 Stars – One of the Most Impressive Fans I’ve Owned, But DREO Made Some Strange Decisions
I’ve owned quite a few fans over the years, from cheap box fans to tower fans, and this is easily one of the most advanced fans I’ve ever purchased. In many ways, DREO absolutely nailed this product.
The first thing that impressed me was the noise level. This fan moves a lot of air, but unlike most tower fans, you don’t really hear the fan itself. You hear the air. There’s no rattling, whining, clicking, or annoying oscillation noises. Even when it’s changing direction, it’s remarkably quiet. If you’re looking for a fan that can move air without sounding like it’s preparing for takeoff, this one does an excellent job.
I also specifically bought this fan because I wanted fine control over airflow. I didn’t want a fan that was either OFF or WINDSTORM. Even on Speed 1, sitting about 3-4 feet away, it provides a comfortable breeze. The number of speed settings is one of the things that attracted me to this model in the first place.
The smart features are where this fan really separates itself from cheaper alternatives. Setup was surprisingly easy. Connecting it to Wi-Fi, creating an account, and integrating it with Google Home was painless. Being able to tell Google or Alexa to turn the fan on and off is genuinely useful.
The app deserves special mention because it’s honestly kind of crazy how much control DREO gives you. You can tell the engineers kept asking themselves, “What else can we make this fan do?” Features like directional control, Follow Me mode, scheduling, and automation options make this feel more like a smart gadget than a simple appliance.
The Follow Me feature actually made me laugh. I expected it to be a gimmick. Instead, the fan adjusted itself and pointed directly at me. That was one of those moments where I realized DREO’s engineers were having a little too much fun designing this thing.
Assembly was also refreshingly simple. Screw the poles together, attach the base, and you’re done.
Now for the things that kept this from being a 5-star review.
The touch controls on the pole are my biggest design complaint. The icons are difficult to see, there’s no tactile feedback, and if you grab the fan by the pole to move it, you’re almost guaranteed to accidentally touch something. For a fan this advanced, the onboard controls feel oddly primitive. If DREO ever revises this design, I’d love to see a clearly marked control panel on the top of the unit instead of flush touch icons hidden on the pole.
I also think the power cord should connect through the base instead of halfway up the pole. It’s a small thing, but it would make the fan look cleaner and more polished.
The app is excellent, but I would love to see a fine-adjustment mode for directional control. Sometimes I only want to move the airflow slightly, and the adjustments can feel a little too large.
Now let’s talk about the thing that cost this fan its fifth star.
I discovered after purchasing it that this model does not include the ambient lighting feature that appears on some of DREO’s less expensive models.
Now before anyone says it: yes, this is partially on me. Somewhere between comparing models, reading specifications, and clicking “Buy Now,” I apparently convinced myself that the flagship model would naturally include every cool feature DREO offered. That assumption turned out to be spectacularly wrong.
To be clear, DREO didn’t misrepresent anything. The information was available. This wasn’t a bait-and-switch situation.
That said, I still find it incredibly strange.
As a customer, it’s hard not to scratch your head when one of the more expensive models in the lineup is missing a feature that’s available on cheaper versions. It feels like buying the fully loaded version of a car only to discover that one of the coolest features was reserved for a lower trim package. Sure, maybe I should have read the comparison chart more carefully, but I also don’t think it’s unreasonable to expect a premium-priced model to include the features available elsewhere in the product line.
And honestly, that’s what frustrated me the most. Not because I desperately needed the lighting feature, but because it seemed like such an obvious addition to an otherwise fantastic product.
Despite all of that, I still think this is an excellent fan.
Who should buy it? Someone who values quiet operation, smart-home integration, detailed app controls, and having complete control over how their fan behaves. If you’re the kind of person who enjoys automating devices and tweaking settings, you’ll probably love this thing.
If you’re just looking for the cheapest fan that blows air, save your money and buy something simpler.
Overall, this is one of the best fans I’ve owned and easily the smartest. The airflow is smooth, the app is excellent, setup is easy, and the noise level is outstanding. Most of my complaints are design choices rather than performance issues.
I really wanted to give it 5 stars. Between the touch controls, a few small design decisions, and my lingering frustration over the missing lighting feature, I landed at 4 stars instead. Still highly recommended—just compare the DREO models carefully before ordering so you don’t learn the same lesson I did.
Excellent fan
This really is better than dyson and works so well to beat the summer heat or even just for all year round.
Noise is very low and soothing. The controls are great but even better is that you can use siri or whatever you use to set different modes. I have it pointing and oscillating to my desk, lounge or bed with voice commands
Ofcourse the wind and cooling is strong
The install is easy and its definitely sturdy. More importantly its easy to clean
Only negative is that the ‘follow’ command doesn’t work as well as you’d expect but if you save your settings it doesn’t really matte
My goodness. This fan is unbelievable! The set up was easy & took a few seconds. The fan was packaged safely & securely. The overall look of the fan is aesthetically pleasing & looks high-tech. The functionality alone, with the app as well is incredible! So much customization & data to provide you the best user experience possible! 9 speeds! I have been using it around a speed 4 & 5 and it doesn’t even get loud! I am very impressed! My favorite part is when you’re in the app customizing the settings you can drag your finger anywhere you want to find the perfect position for the fan. As well as the FindMy feature- you just wave your hands a little bit and the fan points it directly at you! The airflow is very substantial and has a nice pleasant cool heavy wind. I honestly had very high hopes for this fan, and it delivered and exceeded my expectations A LOT.
I was leery about spending this much money on a pedestal fan. I am so glad that I did. First, it seems very well built. The plastic shroud seems heavy duty. The stand with the controls look futuristic. The power compared to a normal fan is insane. I can feel the air movement way across a room. It is super quiet compared to other fans that we have in our home. I love the fact that it oscillates further than our other fans. You can also dial in the height as well. One very cool feature is that the fan can follow you around in a room based on the remote control. I was thinking that was a gimmick but on a hot Florida day that is invaluable. I love the fact that it works with Alexa. My wife does not wake up as early as I do. We have the fan set up in our bedroom. I have a routine set up to turn the fan off at the time she wakes up. It is priced higher than other fans, but it’s not like a normal fan. This is a fan of the future.
This Fan is Magic in Mechanical production!!! I was using 2 well known power fans in my bedroom and still was sweating my reared off but just thought that I had tried to buy 2 of the best fans I could afford, so I just dealt with it and put that fan right on top of me, I’m very heat sensitive and if I’m constantly sweating I’m going to have real physical and mental problems. Well one of my fan power cords found its way into my Golden Retriever’s mouth and he destroyed it! I tried my normal splice and dice to reconnect the wires and it still did not work, you need the remote for it to reset the power on the fan. Screw it. Started my research and found the DREO brand of products, I’ve never heard of this brand and figured they were over reaching and over advertising their product line up but what the heck I went ahead and bought this AMAZING FAN!!! OMG it works like Magic! This fan is an absolute dream and it replaced 2 name brand fans that were needed to keep my room kinda cool. This fan has so many cool out of this world options that I think the DREO engineers sat at a table 1 day and said ” hey let’s come up with the craziest ideals and mash it all together into 1 product ” well they did just that and now I have the coolest fan on earth, I only need one fan now and usually only run it between 2-4 power level. To the folks at DREO please keep up your innovation and I’ll keep buying it. I was just flat out amazed at the performance of the fan and the dual oscillation control of this fan is so fantastic to have instead of the weak horizontal control everyone else is doing. Another thing I want to express is that when I first opened the box and looked at the size of the fan I laughed hard! This was a baby fan I thought and almost boxed it back up, but it was here so I might as well try it out. Can you say “jaw hit the floor?” My gosh I was transfixed and COOL for the first time in 2 years! From a company that I have Never heard of I was absolutely gobsmacked, and I follow the industry because I’m a retired engineering mechanic, DREO just came out of left field and delivered a knock out punch in a industry full of false promises and substandard construction. It’s pricy but well invested money and I don’t think I’ll ever have to worry about problems and if I do I’ll see what DREO would do and I always have my Amazon Warranty to fall back on. Cheers to the DREO Engineers and Manufacturers who put this all together. And did I forget to mention that DREO has a phone App that will control all their products at the same time? No more lost remotes, just pack them up after initial use in a safe place. Don’t forget to remove the batteries to prevent corrosion damage. Ok I’m done and if you have gotten to this point, thank you very much for reading. I don’t normally write like this.
I’m fully bought into the DREO ecosystem at this point. Between pedestal fans, table fans, and ceiling fans, I’ve set up their products throughout our new house, and I’d already been running them at our old house before we sold it. That should tell you how much I trust this brand. They integrate smoothly into my smart home and Home Assistant workflows, so I can control them alongside everything else in the house instead of having them live on their own separate app.
This particular pedestal fan has been a great addition to that setup. It’s smart enough to fit right into automations and voice control, and it performs exactly the way I expect from DREO at this point, strong airflow with genuinely quiet operation. I have an automation set to run the fan and circulate air in my two-story, open-concept living room whenever my Ecobee thermostats detect a 10 degree temperature difference between the upstairs and downstairs units, and turns off after an hour of operation. This is not an automation from the native app, but it shows how well it integrations with the rest of your smart devices.
If you’re building out a smart home and want fans that actually integrate well instead of just being smart in name only, DREO is the way to go.
