A+ build quality and cooking, B- for noise
Build quality and appearance are great on this unit, and it cooks well.

On the downside, the fans are noisier than average and the cooktop beeps for almost every function: when powered on, every time you rotate the knobs, when you turn it off. And when fully powered off, the red LED lights continue to flash.

For a premium priced unit, it would be nice to have more control over these factors. But it still works great.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersGreat addition to my kitche
I recently moved from a house that had an induction cook top to one that has a gas cook top. I could not believe how long it takes to boil water for pasta with gas as opposed to induction heat! I was so used to my induction cook top with the speed setting for a quick boil. So when I found this plug in induction cook top, I was thrilled. It is compact and so I can keep it on my countertop close to the stove and just plug in when needed. Last night I used it to cook a big pot of pasta and it not only heated the water quickly, but maintained the appropriate setting to keep it boiling without overflowing. The controls are easy to use, even though I did not use the timer setting yet so I can’t speak to that. Once I was finished cooking, I just unplugged the unit and when it cooled down, gave it a quick clean up with a soft cloth. The 1800 watt power was plenty to cook the pasta and the settings can go very low so it will be great for delicate sauces and melting chocolate. Another advantage is that it does not heat up the kitchen like a regular gas or electric cooktop so it is great during the hot summer months.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersIts just like magic. Heat from magnetic force.
This is my first experience with an induction cooker. I have to say it blew me away with how quickly the heat gets to the pan. This is as close to gas as you’re going to get.

There are limitations, though it must use a pan that is magnetic. Copper aluminum, etc. are not going to heat up on this cooker. This is due to the fact that it uses induction heating and for that to work you need something that is magnetic.

Again, I think the most important feature is the fact that it is able to heat and cool as fast as gas can. Is portable and lightweight yeah large enough for two medium size pans. Was surprising as how thin the device is making it even more portable.

I don’t have a good way to check efficiency or power usage, but saying that you’re not wasting a lot of heat up into the air as all of the energy goes directly into the pan, I’d have to say it’s very efficient.

The only thing we noticed on one of the burners was, it seemed to cook a tad unevenly on one side. This was not a major problem, but it was not noticeable.

Induction heaters are a little expensive but in the long run, I think you’ll find that they’re worth every penny I sure did.
