Be mindful of your power usage
The double burner induction cooktop comes with an instruction manual. Instead of a 3 prong plug, it has a 2 prong, which is missing the grounding pin. Ironically the instructions stress the importance of making sure the unit is properly grounded and shows a 3 prong plug in its diagram.

The unit is lightweight and easy to move.

After you plug it in the unit beeps, the lights above each burner’s power button blinks, and the fans turn on. The left burner is the higher power one, which is the opposite to how my oven’s stove top works.

You can change the power level with the watt and temperature buttons. Pushing one of the buttons again while cooking will reset to that button’s default. Watts start at 1000 on the left burner and 600 on the right, with each +/- click raising or lowering it by 200, to a maximum of 1800 on the left and 1200 on the right. The lowest wattage is 200. Temperature is displayed only in Fahrenheit. It starts at 280F, and goes up from there to 320, 360, 400, and 430 or down to 250, 210, 180, and 140. The unit can only pull 1800W total, so if one burner is on and you turn the other burner on, the first one will drop down in power if necessary to stay under that total. When using it I had it hooked up to a watt meter and was able to see what the unit actually used. It generally stayed within 50 watts of the setting I had it on.

I’ve never cooked using Fahrenheit or Watts as measurements on a cooktop before. I don’t know how these equate to the low/medium/high numbered dial I’m used to, so it took some adjustment to find a range that worked for me. My husband finds the 200W increments on the coarse side, and would have preferred 100W for better fine tuning.

Normal household outlets are only capable of providing 15 Amps of power, so at 120 Volts AC 1800W will max out a single circuit, and when doing so, should only do so for a short time (3 hours). So be sure not to have any other appliance connected to the same circuit when using this at max wattage and don’t leave it on at maximum power for an extended period of time.

There’s a timer that you can set by pressing or holding the + button. It can be set for 3 hours. Removing the timer requires zeroing out that setting. The child lock takes a long 3 second hold on its button and prevents someone from changing the settings.

The unit works really well, just be mindful of its power usage.

Excellent product, fast and even heat, works like a charm
I got this cooktop to use while our cottage is being redone as we need something to cook on while that’s going on. I thought it would sort of be a “make do” kind of scenario but I have to say that this thing is actually amazing! It is so easy to use, it heats up so quickly, and the heat is evenly distributed which creates great results. I am very very impressed.

I thought that I would just use this temporarily while the new cottage is being built but now I know that I will use this after the build is complete, too. Because this cooktop is so efficient, easy to use, lightweight, and super convenient, we have decided to add an outdoor kitchen area to the rear deck so that we can continue to use this as an adjunct to the barbeque — it will be perfect for outdoor cooking, reducing the need to run back and forth during the good weather, and we will also benefit from not having to use the indoor kitchen in warm weather, which is a bonus. It is a really nice looking unit, too, which makes it perfect for the new setting that it will inhabit soon. I am so very very happy with this cooktop. I am also surprised, admittedly, because I did not think that I would (a) get so excited about an item of cookery and (b) find it so satisfying to use. But it’s really great and now I know that we will be incorporating this into a new outdoor kitchen area where it will gets tons of use on a regular basis, which makes me very happy.

I have cooked everything on this unit so far from quick breakfasts to leisurely lunches to full dinners, and I have used it for evening snacks and for making coffee, tea, and hot chocolate as well. It heats water so quickly that you can actually make things like pasta and Kraft Dinner more quickly than before on a regular stove. Eggs, bacon, oatmeal, soups, grilled cheese sandwiches, and everything else you can think of — all super easy with this induction cooktop.

    Definitely a “happy camper” here.

    Great Cooktop; Terrible Manual
This dual induction cook top looks fantastic and it works very well. It would get five stars if the manual hadn’t frightened the you-know-what out of me.

It is ergonomically shaped so that the controls are slanted towards you. The controls are highly intuitive. Unusually for an induction cook top, they offer the choice of controlling the heat using watts or temperature. This makes for a great deal of flexibility. If you want to boil water as fast as possible, use the left cooking area at its maximum setting of 1800 watts. The right cooking area only goes to 1200 watts maximum, so it boils water more slowly, but still very effectively. If you need to simmer a sauce, you can switch to temperature mode and set it so the sauce doesn’t burn. This is a really nice idea and it works well.

Both sides have independent controls that are spaced apart so there can be no confusion about which side you are controlling. Each side has a child lock in case you need that, and there is a handy timer on each side so you can have the cook top turn off at the appropriate time.

There is a built-in fan, but it is reasonably quiet, as you can hear in the video.

One minor problem though, is that there appears to be no way to change the cooking temperatures to Celsius. This really should be resolved by the maker with a minor firmware update.

I measured the power used by the cook top with my handy Kill-A-Watt. The power used seems to be a little below what is displayed by the cook top, but it’s pretty close.

The one huge issue with the cook top is with the manual. It shows a 3-prong grounded plug instead of the two-prong plug that is built into the cooktop. Further, it says the cook top must be installed by a professional and “properly grounded”, which is impossible with a two prong plug.

Then it goes on to mention that “When using two burners simultaneously, the combined power should not exceed 1800W.” Yes, I agree, this is an excellent idea. But combined with the two prong plug this wording gives me the impression that some careless user of the cook top could accidentally exceed the capacity of my 15 amp household circuit and blow the breaker, or worse.

It turns out that is not true. I tested this by cranking the left surface up to its maximum of 1800 watts and then turning on the right surface at 1200 watts. Theoretically, this should have exceeded the capacity of my wiring. However, the cook top automatically reduces the power of the opposite surface to keep the total power drawn by the cook top at under 1800 watts. My Kill-A-Watt tells me this is true. I never saw the cook top draw more than a very safe 1712 watts.

So the cook top appears to be smart, safe, effective and very good-looking. It’s a pity the manual doesn’t properly explain what a great appliance it is.

    Good for saving space
We’ve got this cooktop in our guest cabin instead of a conventional stove and the versatility of not having a permanent fixture goes a long way to making a small cabin a little larger. The induction burners generate enough heat to sear meat and boil water, doing everything a regular stove can do. There are some pots and pans that can’t be used with induction, but we’ve got the cabin equipped with only the ones that are safe to use. The cooling fans are reasonably quiet, but will get louder the higher the temperature settings used. The controls are intuitive, and each burner has an LED display for temperature. There is also a built in 3 hour timer, and a residual heat indicator for enhanced safety.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersSlim profile - quick heat up
I really like the modern slim design. It is very useful when you need another cooktop to assist when the stove is occupied. It is also great on camping trips and anyplace that doesn’t supply a stove. I set a timer for 2 minutes to boil water and it was happening in under a minute. The control panels is easy and the textured glass cleans up nicely. There are two cooling fans on the bottom of the cooktop. And it stays in place with the rubber pad footing.
