Good tasting coffee
I’ve been using this espresso machine for a little while now, mostly because I got tired of driving across town every morning for a latte. It makes a pretty good shot—the 20bar pressure gives it a nice, rich taste—and the preinfusion helps bring out more flavor without me having to do anything special. I like that part. The frother makes a creamy foam that’s great for cappuccinos, and the cupwarming plate is one of those small perks I didn’t think I’d care about until I actually used it.
Not everything is perfect, though. The machine heats up fast, but it can be a little loud first thing in the morning, and the drip tray needs to be emptied more often than I expected. The big water tank is nice, though—I don’t have to refill it constantly, which helps when I’m half awake and just trying to get out the door. Cleaning the frothing nozzle is easy enough since it comes off, and the temperature stays steady, so I don’t end up with weird, lukewarm shots.
It’s not a fancy caf setup, but it’s made my mornings a lot easier.
Beautiful machine
This is such a pretty coffee machine. The pieces are well made and sturdy. It has the frother pipe. It came with two different size plates for espresso. The coffee scoop functions as a scoop and the other end can be used as a tamper. A milk jug is not included.
It heats up quickly and is easy to operate. The compact design fits well on a countertop without taking up too much space. The steam frother works decently for creating milk foam, which is a nice touch for lattes and cappuccinos. The removable water tank is convenient for refilling. However, the build quality feels a bit lightweight, and it can be tricky to get the right pressure for a good espresso shot. Overall, it does the job but may require some practice to get the best results.
Great for Beginners!
This espresso machine is the perfect size and level for beginners. It is not large but can still make delicious shots without a lot of effort. It is very easy to use when following the detailed instructions. It makes delicious shots and frothed milk in almost no time and I would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to start out and learn about espresso machines. I also think it would be a great gift to anyone starting their life in a new space.
If you’re buying espresso machine for over $100 and it has a milk frother wand, for some reason I think a stainless steel steaming pitcher should be included for that price. Sort of like buying a rice steamer that doesn’t come with the bowl to cook the rice in. They recommend frothing about 150 ml of milk, which doubles in size when frothed. You can get a 12oz (355ml) cup with a spoon on Amazon for less than $10.
Other than that, it seems to be a good starter machine for those wanting to try espresso and latte drinks. The metal funnel has two dispensing holes so you can either make two single espressos using two cups, or one double using a single cup.
I purchased a Shardor burr grinder here on Amazon to make my own espresso grind. The specific model I purchased is no longer available, but they have other options if you search.
When steaming milk, make sure you flush some steam out of the wand before you put it in the milk picture, especially if you have dispensed hot water out of that tube, as there is a bunch of excess water to be flushed before pure steam comes out.
