Self-cleaning, versatile appliance.
Great little powerful machine with many functions. It makes creating nutritional drinks a breeze. I first ran the self cleaning cycle which spun boiling water to clean and sanitize the container throughly before use.
I found a few recipes in the instruction manual and decided to make nut and oat milk. I placed almonds and oats into the blender and filled with water to the appropriate level. I scrolled the menu to the nut milk option, touched the “ON” button and walked away. The machine went through many different stages of blending and heating for about an hour a half. When it was finished I had a perfectly smooth quart of nut milk. There was no need to strain the milk as no almond skins were visible.
I was surprised that the blender did not detach from the motor, however, there was no leakage to be concerned about and it was still easy to clean. The motor is very powerful and the dry cycle could be used to make oat flour. This machine can also make milk shakes, smoothies, juice and pured soups.
A great way to be able to make nut milks and control the ingredients that go into them. The unit itself has a bit of heft to it but not overly bulky. The cord is detachable, helping keep the unit slim and easy to store. This thing fits in the cabinet easily but can sit out on the counter without taking up valuable real estate.
So far, I’ve only made nut milk with it. Cashew milk to be specific. A good handful of nuts, add milk, and off it goes. The milk comes out tasting great, and again, I know what ingredients went into it. Nuts, pinch of salt, dash of vanilla and maybe even cinnamon if feeling crazy, then water. No strange gums or added oils for ‘creaminess’, gross.
Cleaning is a bit cumbersome, to me anyway. I want that thing CLEAN, so after using the cleaning feature, I use the sink sprayer and a brush (not the one that came with it, doesn’t get the bottom well), and go to town on it. It’s not that bad, but you are doing it more often since the unit doesn’t make all the much at one time.
The unit has decent power, but we aren’t talking high end blending power, so keep that in mind. It does a good job of grinding up the nuts but for a really smooth and creamy drink, a nut bag is recommended. It does heat fairly quickly, so if you are space challenged and don’t need much at one time, this doubles as a small kettle, but that’s pretty inefficient for that use case.
Overall, this is an economical way to make fresh nut milk daily without worrying about what else was added. The various functions are also nice as that cuts down on extra appliances.
