I already had SimpliSafe monitoring so that’s why I went with SimpliSafe outdoor cameras. One camera is hard wired to power. I can’t recess the wire or protect it from the weather or rodents.
I absolutely love my SimpliSafe security system, and these Outdoor Security Camera Series 2 units are a fantastic addition. The picture quality is excellent — clear 1080p video both day and night, with a wide field of view that easily covers driveways, entryways, or backyards.
The setup was simple and straightforward, and I appreciate that these cameras can be used wirelessly or wired, depending on what works best for each location. The wireless battery lasts much longer than I expected, and when hardwired, you never have to think about charging.
The motion detection is smart and responsive without being overly sensitive, and the two-way audio feature works great for talking to visitors or delivery drivers. I also like how seamlessly the cameras integrate into the SimpliSafe app — it’s easy to review footage, adjust sensitivity, or set zones.

Nice for checking on the dogs in the yard and watching deliveries
I have nothing to complain about with the cameras, they work completely fine with my SimpliSafe system… The only time they have an issue is when my Wi-Fi system is having an issue…
This camera is excellent to monitor any area outside. I bought this to monitor my driveway and garage area. It picks up movement and I am notified quickly on the app. The picture is clear and of high quality. It has a wide angle of view so that motion is picked up better then I expected. I like that the battery last for about 3 months before I have to recharge it.
