Dude, this retractable hose reel is a total game-changer for me! I’m the worst at rolling up hoses, they always end up in a giant tangled mess. But this automatic hose reel? I installed this wall mounted hose reel in like 10 minutes, super easy, and it’s been working perfectly for months now. 10/10 would recommend to anyone who hates dealing with hose chaos!
It’s lightweight and simple to operate, she doesn’t have to struggle with winding up a heavy hose anymore. Just pull it out to use, give it a little pull when you’re done, and it rolls right back up. Everyone reading this review probably read many others. It is a great value, doesn’t leak, retractability is as it says and it is too early to speak to the durability.
But, I did want to speak to the mounting. Some reviews mentioned cheap (my words) hardware. What I found is that the hardware for the mounting is fine. But if you intend to use a #1 or #2 phillips bit for the screws you will be making a mistake. Use a #3 attached to a drill/driver and you will be fine as long as you drill the holes for the anchors deep enough for them to fully seat. My application was motor between bricks, so that is what I have experience with for this product.
Haven’t had it very long, but it was fairly easy to install and seems sturdy.
Easy to operate, locks nicely. Was able to use my regular hose quick disconnects with it and it returns well (albeit very fast). The included nozzle is plastic and you need to be careful not to let it drop on the ground, otherwise it will start to leak. Mine already has within a week, but it’s a small leek.
This is the real deal, I have had this hose reel for a month and it gets used 4 or 5 times every day. Mounting is very easy with the included template, drill 4 holes screw on the brackett and drop the swivel pin through the body and you are ready to go, just hook it up to a water source. The included nozzle is excellent with many settings and it doesn’t leak at the hose connection, not a drop, that is important to me. the hose stays where you put it and retracts easily and completely every time. I am in Vermont so it will come off the wall in the winter for safe and easy storage. The only suggestion I would change is the mounting screws are a soft steel and Istripped the heads on 2 of them so I went to the hardware store and bought 4 hex head wood screws, for an additional $2.00 it is worth it.
I just installed this hose reel and my first impression is very good. The unit feels sturdy and well made, and the hose pulls out smoothly without getting tangled. I really like the locking feature because I can stop the hose at different lengths, and the slow retracting system works nicely without snapping back too fast.
The 180-degree swivel is also helpful when watering different areas of the yard, and the included spray nozzle has plenty of settings for normal watering and cleaning. Installation was pretty straightforward, but the reel is a little heavy, so I would definitely recommend mounting it securely.
Overall, it makes the garden area look much cleaner and saves a lot of time compared with dealing with a loose hose. I’ll see how it holds up long term, but so far I’m happy with the purchase.
