Needs updates
Short answer-could be a very good product.
Mower cuts grass ok, no complaints there. How long it takes will depend on the size and number of obstacles the mower encounters.
The mower does not map the yard and therefore you cannot adjust the mower’s cutting areas. Nor does it know where it previously gone.
When in normal mow mode it makes nice linear cut passes. However, first obstacle it encounters(tree) it changes the path. After that, good luck cutting the rest of the yard. (3 times tested, exact same results). However, if random mow is selected it appears it will cover the whole yard in 2-3 days, just not with orderly cuts; just can’t get enough bugs worked out to allow it to mow a couple of days in a row.
The downloadable app locks up consistantly trying to communicate with the mower. Note Phone and other wifi devices in the yard transmit and receive fine, only the mower is spotty. I assume they try to minimize wifi signal to help preserve the battery life?
Sending the mower home is problematic. In my case, with the mower being less than 8 feet away from its home, it starts going the opposite direction trying to locate its base every time unless 2 meters away facing the base. Instead, the mower goes the wrong direction and tests the fence boundry every two feet until it circles the entire yard and STILL fails to locate its base. Why not incorporate a bluetooth beacon in the base to guide it back?
The phone app will lock up at times trying to talk to the mower. In fact so bad that inside in the app, I have deleted and added the mower (device discovery in the app) over 16 times in a couple of days to restore communications with it.
I want to love it. I have 10 days left to return it, but I am trying to work with their support team to resolve these and a couple more issues.
Their phone support did pick up in a timely manner and asked me to some rudimentary questions and performs actions to resolve some issues to no avail. I emailed their support and will see if they respond.
The manual is lacks clear instructions regarding the base
Again, this could be a very good product but needs tweaking to get it there.
Hopefully I dont have to return it and the manufacturer can improve their product. I would currently rate at 2.5 stars, but not possible. Upped to 3 for having a real person on the phone trying diligently to resolve another issue. Again, I will adjust the rating and review based upon their technical support team.
Update: not sure what changed with the mower, but it now has returned to base and recharged successfully 3 times in a row. Updated the review to 4 stars as that is critical for day to day operation.
