We are absolutely in love with these Govee Pathway Lights. They have completely transformed the front of our house, giving it that “expensive professional landscaping” look for a fraction of the cost. Every time friends stop over, the lights are the first thing they comment on—usually followed immediately by “Where did you get those?”
The standout feature for us is the color customization. It’s incredibly easy to swap themes via the app to match the season.
Christmas: We ran a classic Red and Green pattern.
Valentine’s Day: We switched to a vibrant Purple and Red.
Everyday: We usually stick to a warm white that looks very sophisticated.
They can also pair with Alexa or Google Home to control them.
I will note that our experience got off to a rocky start. We had to return the first set because they wouldn’t link up properly with the app/Wi-Fi. However, the exchange process was seamless, and the second set has been performing excellently with zero connectivity issues. EVEN with all the snowstorms we have had this winter! They are performing beautifully.
Once they are synced, the Govee ecosystem is very reliable. If you want your house to stand out on the block without spending thousands on permanent lighting, these are a “must-buy.” Just be sure to test your connectivity right out of the box. Once they’re up and running, they are easily the best smart lights we’ve owned!
Fantastic Lights. Lots of colours!
These are amazing pathway lights. Can change to just about any colour you can imagine. And they can each be a separate colour.. and the tops and bottoms can be different colours as well. Customer service is A+. First ones broke and they were replaced in record time. Can’t go wrong with service like that.
Great functionality
Incredibly simple setup, lots of optionality. We have enjoyed changing the lights to different settings based on the season and appreciate the ability to automate the schedules and sync them up with other govee lights. They don’t provide the most brightness and don’t fully cover our wide walkway at night but they do help out.
These Govee Outdoor Pathway Lights 2 are pretty solid overall, especially if you’re into custom lighting. The app is where Govee really shines—it’s packed with features and feels robust once you get past the initial learning curve. Yeah, it’s a bit confusing at first with all the menus and options, but once you figure it out, you can do almost anything: change colors, set schedules, sync to music, even create lighting effects. It’s clear Govee put a lot of thought into the software side. For most people, the app will feel powerful and flexible. But if you’re like me and want absolute control—like fine-tuning every single light individually—it’s not quite there. There are limits, but they’re small ones.
The lights themselves are bright, with LEDs on both the top and bottom, which helps spread the glow. But here’s the real talk: Govee claims a 12-foot illumination circumference, and that’s just not accurate. In my yard, the spread is more like half of that—around 5 to 6 feet. They’re good for marking a path, but don’t expect them to light up a huge area. I think if the posts were taller, they’d throw light farther, but as they are, the beam is more focused and closer to the ground. That said, the brightness is strong, and the colors look true to what I pick in the app. I haven’t had them long enough to say how well they’ll hold up over time, but so far, the color accuracy seems on point.
Setup was easy, and the packaging kept everything safe and organized. I appreciate that Govee pays attention to the unboxing experience. These lights fit well into a larger outdoor setup, and since Govee makes a wide range of smart outdoor products, it’s easy to build a full system. If you’re okay with the app’s learning curve and don’t need military-level precision, these pathlights are a strong pick. But just go in with realistic expectations—the brightness is great, but the coverage isn’t as wide as advertised. Govee’s customer service is superb so if there are any issues they will try to make it right.
Great pathway lighting that can be controlled with an app. The lights can display different colors and they have templated holiday options which worked great. There are up and down lights and they can be different colors and brightness for either. You can setup a schedule on the app. This is a modular system so lights can be easily replaced if they fail and same with the wiring. The ground stakes hold up the lights firmly and I found a piece of dirt for each that was suitable to hold each light. I used plastic wiring boxes to protect the controller and plugs and prevent water penetration (Hrensaw Small Weatherproof Electrical Connection Box(Inner 5.5 x 3 x 2.2inch),Outdoor Electrical Box,Waterproof Extension Cord Covers for Plug, Extension Cables, Holiday Lights,Black) & (YOJOE 3 Pack Outdoor Extension Cord Cover Waterproof, Black Cord Protector Connector Electrical Safety Box to Protect String Lights Outdoor Plug, Outlet, Christmas Decorations Lights). I used CrocSee plastic tubing to protect the wiring from damage (25ft – 1/4 inch Flame Retardant Split Wire Loom Tubing with Installation Tool – Flexible Wire Covers Cord Protectors – Black). I used garden stakes to hold the wiring down to the ground to prevent damage from weed trimmer or tripping (Gtongoko 120 Pack 4 Inch Galvanized Landscape Staples Garden Stakes Plant Cover Stakes 11 Gauge Lawn Staples Ground Stake for Landscaping Securing Weed Barrier). I will probably add duct tape to protect the wiring connected to each light.
I absolutely LOVE these lights!!! After reading the reviews and learning many had issues with the plug/power source frying if wetI preemptively ordered a waterproof case for the cord connections and have had no issues.
They produce a bight light and I love that I can color coordinate the top lights with my house while keeping the bottom lights a brilliant white so that my pathway is highly visible.
It would be nice if it were possible to chain a couple sets together opposed to having to run additional extension cordsbut they are still worth it. I have 4 sets and wish I had more pathways to light just so I could add some more!
These work great! I love Govee products because they offer long term use and give incredible curb appeal at night! These pathway lights offer the right amount of warm white light softness for a Florida home. The under and over spread of light is just perfect for our flower bed and sidewalk.
