Sturdy Toddler Tower with Some Assembly Quirks
This is the Fisher-Price WonderStep toddler tower, which sells for around $159 (currently marked down to about $124). I’m giving it 5 out of 5 for overall quality, though I’d rate the assembly itself about a 3 out of 5.

The positives are clear right away. The hardware included is excellent — very solid, industrial-grade hinges, top-notch bolts, and extra hardware pieces in case you lose one. The tower is made from either real wood or composite that looks and feels close to real wood, which is a plus. Once put together, it’s very stout and easily holds my almost three-year-old without worry. The design includes chalkboard panels for kids to draw on, which adds a fun touch. It also comes with a wall anchoring kit if you prefer to secure it to the wall, though it’s already stable as is.

Assembly, however, could have been explained better. The instructions are vague in places, particularly with the long bolts. You get four of them, but they are not used at the same level — they specifically go through the front Fisher-Price fascia. That isn’t clearly laid out in the guide. There were also some mystery strips included without instructions, and one of the dowels was slightly long, which kept one side from fully closing flush. It’s not enough to affect use, but it may bother anyone who wants everything perfectly tight. The rule of thumb applies here: don’t tighten everything until the end. I used an adjustable impact on a light setting to avoid over-tightening and damaging the wood.

Once assembled, it looks sharp and feels extremely durable. My son can climb in and out safely, and he’ll be using this often at the counter while we cook together.

Overall, it’s a thoughtfully designed, sturdy toddler tower with quality hardware and a nice finish. Assembly is the only drawback, but the final product is well worth it. Highly recommended.

Golden Review Award: 1 From Our UsersExactly what I was looking fo
I had been eyeing this product for a while and was a little hesitant to purchase it after reading some of the other reviews, but I’m really glad I did. Assembly was much easier than I expected and definitely wasn’t as difficult as some people made it sound.

The stool feels sturdy and well-made, and the height is perfect for our toddler to help at the kitchen counter. My favorite feature is that it converts into a step stool, making it much more versatile and allowing us to continue using it beyond the toddler years as a sink stool.

Overall, I’m very happy with this purchase and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a sturdy, versatile learning tower that can grow with their child.

    Safety first for the wife
Took my husband about 5 mins to throw together using the tools required except he used an actual screwdriver. I thought he got this for my nephew until he let it slip that he got it for me. Was in the kitchen asking him to reach something for me for the millionth time and he comes sliding this over and says “don’t you like your step stool? It’s super safe too cause it boxes you in!” So yeah. This is my new step stool. Do you like it? I do. I like that it has a chalkboard on all the sides. Wipes off easily with your hand. The green color is so dang pretty. I definitely did not expect this to be as nice as it is. Super sturdy too. Zero wobbling and no tipping over and I’m 165 pounds 5’6″. Your kids are definitely safe. They’ll reach the counters perfectly to help learn safety in the kitchen or even out in the garage. Chairs are so bulky to drag over but this thing fits nice and perfectly in my pantry when it’s not in use. It is quite bulky in size, but that’s the price you pay for safety and durability for your kids that never stop bouncing around. If you want a stool you know they won’t tip over by leaning over the edge of it with all their weight then this is the stool to get.

Relatively good product for its price.
The first thing I noticed when I opened the box was the well finished wooden pieces (pine wood), including the MDF pieces. Assembly may be a little tedious, but the end result is acceptable. This can be used as a toddler tower or a step stool. Compared to many other similar mass produced ones, quality is similar or better than most I have tried in that orice range. I would hace preferred “plywood” parts rather than MDF.
