Hanging Patio Heater
This hanging heater is almost perfect in my opinion. The only thing I would change is adding a low/med/high settings option. This unit has one setting and it high. I understand it is a hanging unit, but that doesn’t mean that a setting on high at 1500w is always comfortable. Other than that, I think it is wonderful. The chain is long, although a tad thin. It has two clips, one for each end of the chain which makes hanging the heater a breeze. There really isn’t any assembly. Unbox and make sure to remove the foam inserts from the heating element before using. The pull cord for power is a string. Its plenty long for our use. It also comes with a decent little storage bag that goes over the heater for inclement weather although it wouldn’t provide protection for heavy rain, it’s nice for the help it does provide from the elements. The power cord is a 3-prong grounded plug with about 5 ft or so of length. The heater heats up quickly and pumps out a ton of heat. Its still late summer, so my testing is in upper 70’s outdoor temps right now. That still doesn’t detract from the amount of heat it produces. It does not have a fan, so no moving parts. The housing has an upper heat vent to help from overheating. It has 2 safeties. A tip over protection, which I have not tested as it is hanging on the back patio here. The second is an overheating safety. It looks nice on the back patio, and we are very excited to have it for these cooler fall nights and winter coffee mornings that are around the corner. The metal housing and entire unit feel well made. It has worked wonderfully each time I have tested it. I think the style of the heater, hanging, is worth its weight in gold to some extent. It provides heat where you may not be able to have a floor unit. We plug ours into the light you see behind it. The light was purchased from Amazon and has a GFCI plug built into the bottom of it. The heater actually goes on a hook about 2 feet from the one in the photos. That other location had a lot more clutter from projects i.e. cords, cut wood, tarps etc. This is super convenient as we can unplug the heater for safety and storage.

Nice heater. Really puts out alot of heat I used it out in my building and finally got to try it out the other day it’s starting to cool of alot where I live especially of the night. And it done great it was about 40 degrees outside and I had it about 75 inside the building with no insulation or anything it’s super easy to install. And you just need an outlet no running new wires or anything like that definitely recommend!
I ordered this Electric Outdoor Heater to use for our baby goats and sheep in cold weather. Our newborn and young livestock must be kept warm during winter. I am impressed with the amount of heat this heater puts out. It is designed to hang from the ceiling and warm the area below with infrared heat. It is quiet, and the sound does not disturb the animals. This outdoor heater has made a big difference for our animals this winter. The heater is safe to use outside with a protective cage around the bottom. The chain is adjustable to use at any height. I recommend this Electric Outdoor heater to friends.
Very quiet outdoor heater. Comes with a nice long chain for handing. I love just pulling the cord and getting instant heat. It’s says for outdoor but ai have been easily moving it around my garage with the door open to get some extra heat where I’m working. Wasn’t love around. Perfect size. I can recommend. I don’t trust
The cover and will not use this outside in an uncovered area.
It’s been a hot summer, so it took a month or so before I could really review this properly.
Well, hello September. The temperature here in Wisconsin dropped like it saw a State Trooper.
We have two outdoor spaces we enjoy. Our front porch/deck area holds a fire table on the non-covered part of the porch. But the sectional that’s under the covered part is too far to feel the warmth of that fire table.
When I saw this, I knew it was PERFECT for that space.
And it is.
My husband installed it, making sure it was secured and wouldn’t drop.
and it was placed over the small table in front of the sectional.
Last evening, we were able to sit outside and look at the beautiful stars and just enjoy a glass of wine and talk into the night.
We live in the country and are surrounded by fields and trees and such, and that contributes to things getting a bit damp and chilly.
We turned this on, snuggled under a blanket and it was so warm, we were able to go without the blanket if we wanted. At least I wasn’t having to keep my hands under the blanket, lol.
It generated quite a bit of warmth and has a fan, so it will be able to keep us warm as we move into cooler weather, even winter.
We love watching snow fall but it’s cold, and I see myself and my grandbaby sitting outside under a blanket, with this on overhead, and just watching snow.
We’ve discussed, as a family, how very nice this is to have on the porch.
It’s overhead so not something kids can touch, which was a HUGE selling point for me. HUGE. We can enjoy time with our grandbaby and not worry she’ll touch the heater and get burned. Or knock it over.
It’s well-made and pretty sturdy.
Assembly was pretty easy (or so I’m told).
It’s waterproof, so you can leave it out. But it does come with a cover for times you want to protect it. We figure it’s fine. We won’t leave it out once brutal cold weather comes around. If we want to use it, it has its own hook on the ceiling of the porch that it can be clipped into.
Easy to turn on – just pull chain. Does the chain get hot. Yep. You only make that mistake once. We moved the plug to an outlet that is controlled by a light switch. So, now we turn it on and off using that.
This is pretty self-contained, so you could move it from one location to another pretty easily.
My family has really gotten excited we have this so we can spend more time in our outdoor spaces more comfortably.
Okay, I also have another use I am not disclosing to my husband, so don’t tell him. But, there is a cat that likes our porch in colder months. When it gets cold, I put out box with towels and water/food. We have a cat allergy in our home or she’d be inside, lol. She loves sitting on our sectional, so I plan to put turn this on for her when it’s really cold out. So, if you have outside animals, this might be a good option for them too. It’s out of their reach so they can’t knock it over.
During the height of the pandemic, we built a gazebo to have safer spaces to hang out. It’s been an amazing thing to have over the last several years, and we’ve got some gas heaters to keep it warm in the winter. We use it regularly when we have people over, but sometimes we run out of the propane tanks so looked into electric heaters. This heater is pretty great – the only complaint I have is that it is OFF or ON – there are no heat settings, and sometimes I don’t need it to be full blast. What it means is that someone has to get up, pull the cord to turn it off, then turn it back on when the chill creeps back in.
We hung it in the middle of the gazebo, and it works wonderfully. The heat gets really evenly distributed across the gazebo and sometimes we don’t even need the propane ones on! The chain looks thin but is enough for the lamp (which is around 6-7 pounds; not terrible to hang up). I love that it comes with a storage bag if you want to put it away for warmer months and keep it protected. Be aware that the power cord is only around 5 feet, so make sure you have an outlet close by. The metal is solid and it seems well put-together. The price of this was less than a propane heater, and all you need is power. It heats up super quickly, too!
So this would easily be 5 stars if I could change the heat output. Otherwise, it’s really great quality.
After winters of two small chicken coop heaters struggling to warm a little space, I finally have a radiant heater that will keep my garage kitties warm this winter! I was so excited when I unwrapped this radiant heater to see how big it was knowing knowing that it would keep the garage cats warm throughout the frigid months. I worried from November until April for the kitties, knowing they were still cold in their little houses even with the chicken coop heaters going. Both kitties snuggled back deep in their little houses inside layers of blankets to keep warm.
I promised the girls that this winter they would not be cold. That I would get them a big radiant heater and pay someone to put in a cat flap on the garage door. With the arrival of this heater, I only need to get my handyman to install it. Next, I need to call someone to install a cat flap in my steel garage door.
Even though this heater is easy to install, I am confined in a wheelchair, so I’ll need my handyman to mount a hook on a beam in my garage. I also purchased an extension cord to run to the outlet. I read that the heater is controlled by a pull cord, which I hope is long enough for me to reach from my chair.
Given that temperatures right now are up in the 90s, there is no rush to install this heater. But I do want to get it in place and operational before night time temps dip below 50.
This heater is $140, which is about the same price as other infrared heaters of the same size.
This is a great compact outdoor heating lamp. While it is still large, it is way more compact that the “traditional” heating lamps. This one was easy to install and is intuitive to use. The materials feel sturdy and high quality.
